I enjoy how much easier it is to run work orders and deplete non-cannabis inventory like packaging and ingredients. Tracking and tracing inventory is a breeze and I really like how you can build the system to work for your needs. It is intuitive and easy to use and customer support is always quick to repsond. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** It terms of dislikes, the only thing I can point to is when there is an issue with running work orders, the system gets a little slow. Usually when I reach out to Wherefour, they are aleready aware of the issue and fixing it. I am impressed by the speed at which issues are resolved. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** Since we operate an extraction service for our clients, keeping track of material by vendor is extremely important. W4 gives us a system to do this well. I also like that I can run production traces to see what has happened with packages. The ability to see entire work orders on one page helps us provide transparency to our partners and communicate outcomes while showing exactly where their material went, what it made and the affectiveness of the process. ### 2. We moved a production facility that had never used an ERP system before, so it was very important that we implement something the team could realistically learn, adopt, and use in their day-to-day work. Wherefour has helped us create structure without overwhelming the team. Inventory control and purchasing have also become much easier to see and manage. Our purchasing department now has better visibility into what we have on hand, what is being used, and what needs to be reordered, which has allowed them to make much more informed decisions. It has also helped reduce the amount of guessing and tribal knowledge that previously drove many of our decisions. Beyond that, Wherefour has given us a stronger system of record for production, inventory, ordering, and traceability. It has helped create more accountability across departments because information is no longer living in someone’s head, in scattered spreadsheets, or through verbal communication. The system gives our team one shared place to work from, which has improved communication between production, purchasing, warehouse, and customer support. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** The biggest downside of Wherefour for me has been the reporting. While the system is fairly simple to use from an operational standpoint, the reporting side can feel clunky and less intuitive, especially for a new user. There is often a lot of waiting involved, and many reports are delivered through email rather than being immediately available in a clean, easy-to-use dashboard. It has also taken a lot of practice to learn where to go for the right information. The reporting functions are not always named or organized in a way that feels obvious at first, so there is a learning curve in understanding which report gives you the information you actually need. Another challenge is the amount of exporting and importing required. There are times when we need to pull information out of the system, adjust it, and then import it back in, but the export format does not always match exactly what is needed for the import format. That can create extra manual work and increases the opportunity for errors. Wherefour has also added Metabase, which is improving and has the potential to make reporting much stronger. However, we are still working through that process. At this point, I do not always fully trust that the numbers being pulled are accurate or telling the full story, so we are still validating data and learning how to use those tools with confidence. Overall, the operational side of Wherefour has been much easier for our team to adopt than the reporting side. The system has helped us create better structure and visibility, but reporting and data confidence are still areas where we are continuing to improve. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest business problem Wherefour is solving for us is visibility to our data. Before Wherefour, we did not have one system where production, inventory, purchasing, work orders, costing, and customer orders all connected. This is the first system we have had that allows us to run our work orders in a way that actually pulls inventory, tracks usage, and helps us better understand whether our margins are correct. That visibility has been huge for us. It took a lot of work on the front end to get our items, recipes, pricing, inventory, and processes built into the system correctly, but now we are finally able to see where our profit and loss is going in a much clearer way. We have better insight into what inventory is doing, what ingredients and finished goods are being used, and whether our costing is aligned with reality. It has also helped us create more confidence around billing and inventory value. We are able to verify that customers are being billed properly, that pricing is flowing through the system correctly, and that inventory is being valued more accurately. For a business that previously relied heavily on tribal knowledge, spreadsheets, and disconnected processes, having that information in one place has been a major improvement. Another big benefit has been the cost of the system. We knew we needed an ERP, but we could not afford a $50,000–$60,000 implementation. Wherefour’s pricing was by far the best fit for what we needed. We chose to pay the additional cost to have someone come onsite and support us through implementation, and that was absolutely worth it. The support was great, the monthly rate is low, and there are no heavy contracts, which made it a no-brainer for us. Overall, Wherefour is helping us move from reactive decision-making to more informed, data-driven management. It has given us visibility into areas of the business we could not clearly see before, and that has helped us make better decisions around purchasing, production, pricing, inventory, and profitability. ### 3. If - heaven forbid - we find out something has gone wrong with our produce and we have to recall, we'll be able to confidently inform our customers which items are affected without affecting other products we sell. On top of all that, the UI is very clean, easy to read, and makes it less of a headache to work with, even if the amount of data you work with can be a bit much at times. Rolling out new features frequently and getting to work with them has been wonderful as well, like the Control Points, which are letting us take the tests we already do for Quality Assurance and take it to the level of pinning those tests to the work order or lot of product that was tested on a date and time... it's as thorough as we are. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** There are tiny things every now and then I could nag on, like hang ups when starting or finishing work orders, but even that is something you can fix by just refreshing your page. It can also take a bit of time to get from where you are to where you really need to be - just obtuse menu pathing with the Control Points, for example. If I have a test I know needs to get done I must have the work order, not the lot code of the tub. Then I have to open another page and search up the tub, find the work order it came from, go all the way back and input my test information. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** Wherefour is solving a lot of the paper-juggling for me, storing information and details about how much we've done, what we have on hand, how it's being used. I can go back and average the weights of tubs we've made and get real usable numbers to gauge how we're doing and look ahead to where we can take our product further, using Wherefour to help us. ### 4. Wherefour invests in upgrading the functionality regularly and sometime those upgrades can cause issues with exports however they get fixed within a day or 2. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** For Bizzy Coffee, it solves so many things. To list them all would be a long time. Overall, it creates visibility into everything supply chain, inventory, and operations that accounting needs to report on the business. As an executive of the business, it allows me to easily check that everything is on track and performing to budget real time. No more surprised at month end. The software itself is very robust and we have yet to find a scenario that it does not cover in a very simple way. The user interface and overall user experience is easy and learning is quick even for staff that is not super computer savvy. I like how it does complex tasks with an apparent simplicity, which, for a small business feels like we are not adding too much burden to our operations and our operators. Everyone from management, operators, line workers and compliance (USDA organic) has been able to find their data easily and accurately. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** The PDF template editor is a little hard to master. But Customer service is always very reactive at helping when needed. My only regret is that we did not jump into this sooner - we were intimidated by the word ERP and the implementation phase, but we should not have been. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** We manufacture USDA organic cosmetics and need to track organic materials and finished products closely to remain in compliance. Wherefour is allowing us to do a mass balance of ingredients and finished products in 15 minutes when it used to be a 1 day job for 3 people. Not only does it provide comprehensive data in one location but the data quality is much better that our former (paper + excel) method that was prone to user errors. Wherefour has been saving us precious time and frustrations in our day to day operations. ### 19. The ordering system is thought through and makes sense from an inventory point of view. It's simple but can be complex. I appreciate the attention to detail for every step and how each step is critical in keeping a fluid process in the workplace. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** I dislike the fact that work orders can't be undone without extreme measures being taken. If a work order is complete, it can only be reversed once and can be catastrophic to inventory. I wish it could be simple to adjust one item being produced in the work order without all the other items being affected by it. I also find some of the filtering and searching functions to be incomplete. Whenever you're searching for an item you have to type it out exactly how it's spelled. The drop down doesn't populate anything unless you start typing. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's helping us with ordering. Being able to track our inventory and going back to see which items with specific lot numbers went to specific stores has been crucial to food safety traceability. Overall, inventory tracking has been easy to use and fun to see the affects in Wherefour. ### 20. Their support staff is great and resposive to support tickets. This program runs out entire manufacturing operation and we have had little to no problems. The company listens to the needs of their customers and prioritizes upgrades and features based on immediate customer needs. This is outstanding, and basically unheard of in the industry. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** During high volume posting, typically on Monday's and after holidays, there can be up to a 6 hour delay in posting of processes, like pick and ship, and invoicing. This has caused invoicing and delivery delays for our customers. To be clear this has only happened 3 times in two years. Wherefour usually opens additional server resources for this time. Cost of the program is very reasonable and the onboarding and ongoing support is exceptional. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** We are relative novices in the ERP world and there were considerable areas that were not well-versed on entering into the conversion to WhereFour. The "On hand" report. The fact that we now have a perpetual running inventory with ACCURATE costs. I'm not sure exactly how it compares to competitors but i do know that it is user-friendly and intuitive. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** Sometimes I wish that data entry functioned more like excel where you could input "=" and do simple caluclations within the cell. I also feel like there could be improvements when it comes to dealing with allergens - currently i manage that with custom fields but it is a big enough deal in our business that i think they should make it a permnent option in the item set up. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** Everything we do operationally runs through our wherefour system. We have streamlined our ordering process by using the What-If function - that alone has eliminated one very time-consuming task. We run a perpetual inventory and have reduced our inventory manual counts from 12 per year to 4 per year - and hope to reduce it further to 1-2 times per year. ### 28. We are a certified organic organization and having access to all of our records in one place makes our audit periods so easy. One thing (very specific to our process) is that I wish it were easier to pull reports that tie order number to the lot number that was shipped. It's a double edged swords, of course, because you want the system to be robust with many functions. The UI uses modern web tools which makes it easier to use than other older platforms. The technology base also is built on tools that will allow scalability and easier integration with other platforms. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** WhereFour is young compared to competitive platforms, so there are some features I wish worked a bit different and like ALL platforms has a few buggy things, but nothing that prevents you from getting the job done. I wish the tool had better mobile UI usability. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** WhereFour was implemented primarily to address Traceability issues which is does very well. It also helps us manage production costing and inventory. It also integrates with our accounting product to ensure that we have timely, accurate visibility there as well. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** The product is still rapidly growing and there are some blind spots about functionality. Lot tracking and serialization automation has some limitations that have been disruptive to our existing processes. Also, there's not a lot of flexibility with their custom label generation system because you can't assign different labels per SKU and per customer. That makes it difficult for when customers have their own label templates they require. It's also clear that they're still working out the kinks with some of their integrations (QuickBooks seems to be the most robust, but we're on Sage Intacct). **Recommendations to others considering Wherefour:** If you're open to collaboration and the cloud, Wherefour may be a good fit. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** Primarily, we purchased Wherefour to ensure we receive goods against purchase orders and those receipts are immediately reflected against inventory. They are great for the food industry for traceability and for cannabis with track and trace. It is easy to use, easy to train, and the customer service is top notch. Regardless of price range, Wherefour's METRC API integration is second to none. The pick and ship function allows a distributor to allocate multiples stock lines AND split into new METRC packages AND create a new transfer template with all the information and packages loaded into METRC behind the scenes in an instant. I have not seen anything else on the market that will create METRC packages directly from a multi-line sales order and add to a transfer template in under 10 minutes; Wherefour will do it in 1-2 minutes per order. **What do you dislike about Wherefour?** Wherefour is limited as far as financial reporting. Users might consider pairing with quickbooks to gain more comprehensive insight into financials. **What problems is Wherefour solving and how is that benefiting you?** Wherefour excels with inventory control especially in food or cannabis manufacturing. The lot and barcode tracking allows for very detailed batch control for all raw materials, WIPs, and finished products. Wherefour is an outstanding timesaver when integrated with METRC. I went from about 15 minutes per order to manually create METRC packages and transfers down to about 1-2 minutes when fulfilling orders for our distro operation through Wherefour. ### 46.
