## About VulScan
Automated Vulnerability Scanning. Affordably Priced For Everyone! With almost 70 new hidden vulnerabilities identified every day, you would need to be a super hero with X-ray vision to find them all. Or, you can let VulScan do it for you. VulScan is purpose-built for MSPs and for IT Departments that handle their own IT security. It has all the features you need for both internal and external vulnerability management, but without all the complexity found in older solutions. Best of all, VulScan is priced so that cost is no longer a barrier to scanning as many assets as you need, as frequently as you want. That’s why our slogan is “Vulnerability Management For The Rest of Us! VulScan is an affordable cloud-based vulnerability management platform. It includes the software needed to spin up an unlimited number of virtual network scanner appliances using Hyper-V or VMWare, and a cloud-based portal to control the scanners and manage the discovered issues. For internal network scanning, the appliances can be installed on any existing computer that has excess capacity on the network, or installed on a dedicated box to be permanently installed. You can add multiple scanners and configure them each to scan separate parts of the network to get even faster results pushed into the same client site dashboard at no additional cost. For external scanning, the appliances are installed on the MSP’s data center or other remote location and “pointed” to the public facing IP addresses of the target network.

## VulScan Reviews
  ### 1. Nice InHouse Vulnerability Scanner Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gene B. | Director of Technical Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2022

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

VulnScan can be programmed to perform automated Internal and External scans. The reporting format is quite good and contains actionable information. The scanning can be performed with or without credentials

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The setup of the virtual appliance can be challenging based on your skill set. The for-pay Onboarding is more of an Orientation since it is limited to one session for 1 hour. Can't get too much done in that time frame.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1st problem solved is a Compliance issue with insurers. We can check that box now. Some high score CVSS vulnerabilities were identified in the report, and the related mitigation steps were helpful.

  ### 2. Vulscan is a very effective product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Vulscan is one of the best vulnerability scanners out there. The GUI interface is easy to use, and the reports are presented in a very comprehensive manner.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

This product can be a little pricey, especially since it rides on an open-source platform.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It scans or IT infrastructure for threats and vulnerabilities

  ### 3. Using Vulscan helps us and our clients

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Deep insight into the client's potential risks, allows us to understand the risks better and how to mitigate them. Clients love the reports, especially technical teams.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Summary page for execs to review - or a powerpoint presentation deck - too much information.
Also a comparison page to demonstrate where the organisations has improved.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps clients identify their risks and allows us to sell our other services to assist them in mitigating the risks. We can demonstrate real vulnerabilities and Auditors also love the insight.

  ### 4. VulScan Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wayne H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

It is part of our compliance stack from Kaseya

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Some manual process to import data to Compliance Manager

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is used to do internal and external Pen testing These are services that are both standalone and part of a larget compliance as a service program.

  ### 5. Review of Vulscan after 6 months of testing

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan F. | CIO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

All Web Based Reporting
Integration into Autotask to Create Tickets

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Requires a Virtual Machine buildout, with a chunk of resources, Cannot Load Multiple Vlan's on the same VM.

The system does not identify non CVE vulnerabilities, for example open RDP ports

Shutdown remote Agents for testing and the platform never showed as reported offline, so scans were not running

Integration was a create one large ticket method, not individual repairs, so harder to have broken down for techs to work on

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We brought this software on in order to identify security vulnerabilities, it was able to identify a batch of CVE and VoIP Issues

**Official Response from Bonnie Goldberg:**

> Hi Jonathan. Thanks for the feedback as we're always looking to improve. The scanning appliance uses the configured networking of the host so VLAN access is dependent on the networking. It does report on non-CVE issues as well since not all network vulnerability test have CVEs. There is also the ability to split issue into individual tickets or have them consolidated for flexibility.
Please reach out to your account manager or to product support so we can provide you with the best product experience possible.

The granularity is great. As well as the option to make things as simple as they could be complex.

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Vulscan is simple to use and is a powerful alternative to paying auditors for scans.
