## Tyk Reviews
  ### 1. A powerful and flexible API gateway for scalable architectures

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wilder M. | Freelance Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk distinguishes itself through its flexibility and the extensive control it offers over API gateways and traffic policies. I appreciate how straightforward it is to set up rate limits, quotas, and authentication methods, all without the need to develop custom middleware. The dashboard is sleek and responsive, making it easy to monitor API usage in real time.

Another significant benefit is its hybrid and open-source friendly design—you can deploy Tyk on-premise, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments, all without being tied to a specific vendor ecosystem. The documentation is comprehensive, and the platform handles scaling exceptionally well, even when managing a large volume of requests.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

Certain configuration sections may initially seem quite complex, particularly when dealing with advanced policies or managing multiple environments. The learning curve can be steep for those transitioning from more straightforward gateways, and some features are not immediately intuitive, often requiring a closer look at the documentation rather than being easily accessible through the UI.

Furthermore, the analytics module would benefit from having more built-in visualizations, as it currently depends somewhat on external tools. While these issues are not critical, there is definitely potential to enhance usability, especially for newcomers.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tyk has enabled us to centralize API traffic management and standardize communication between our services across different applications. It addresses challenges such as authentication, rate limiting, and security, all without requiring us to implement custom backend solutions.

Additionally, Tyk has boosted our developers' productivity by making it easier for our team to expose microservices rapidly, all while ensuring consistent policies and governance are maintained. Its stability and scalability have minimized downtime and contributed to more predictable and secure deployments.

  ### 2. Effective API Management, But Complex Setup

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepanjan M. | Statistician, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

I like that Tyk offers robust features for securing, managing, monitoring, scaling, and governing my APIs. One of the most valuable aspects is my ability to track who is using my APIs, which is crucial for maintaining control and insights into API usage patterns. This feature enhances my capability to effectively monitor and secure my API interactions, providing a significant advantage over other solutions.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

I find the setup and configuration of Tyk to be quite complex. This complexity during initial setup can be a challenge and may require additional time and resources to get everything properly configured. Initially transitioning from other products, the ease of setup could be significantly improved to facilitate a smoother onboarding process.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Tyk to secure, manage, monitor, scale, and govern my APIs, effectively protecting them while tracking usage. It offers robust API protection but can be complex in setup and configuration.

  ### 3. The best APIM solution we were able to find

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

We evaluated a handful of APIM solutions and Tyk ended up as our clear favourite. Here are a couple of points which to us made Tyk stand out over other solutions:

- Truely On-Premise and open source option without any "phone home mechanisms" (other vendors tend to push their Cloud/Hybrid solutions)
- Very easy to set up on Kubernetes
- Excellent choices of technologies which fit our existing tech stack (e.g. Postgres, Keycloak, Redis)
- Config as code ("Tyk Operator")
- Portal highly customizable via custom themes
- Well designed and intuitive UI (we found other solutions to often have overloaded UIs and/or a worse UX)
- Fair pricing
- Amazing communication and interactions with Tyk people, highly professional processes and materials
- In general a very well thought out solution

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

During our setup process we found parts of the Helm/Kubernetes documentation to not be entirely exhaustive, however the Tyk team was very quick to help us with any questions we had

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to provide an API portal to our API consumers, where we can offer documentation and API credentials in a self-service manner.

  ### 4. Ease of use and quick turn around

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arun P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Its a simple gateway solution and it does its best at it . The support is good.. we asked for a feature request for an ldap authentication feature for dev portal and they implemented that in couple of days . We checked with Kong GW and they denied to implement it .We were able to seamlessly migrate from another GW too. Pretty stable and never had an issue in the last 4 years.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

setting up the GW using default settings is easy but a little tricky when setting up a production version of kubernetes . The support helped me to setup a kubernetes version but the documentation could have been better ..
Sometimes I observed that the latest version has features that dont work .. they need to do better in making sure all the previous features work in the new versions.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a gateway solution for us for authenticating the request and proxy it .

  ### 5. Very powerful and flexible

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk give us developers a great way to manage our API. I like that Tyk gave us developers a lot of flexibility via its plugins feature. And also how Tyk helps us build a one universal API for both graphQL and REST is very powerful. It's easy to implement because we can try the dashboard for 14 days. Also the community is pretty supportive.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

The playground of the graphql API cannot be changed, but it's minor. Several bugs still exists regarding graphql Federations. UDG still have N+1 Problems. Also, the tutorials is not really clear sometimes.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tyk solve a unified API Gateway and management , make us easy to implement GraphQL API interacting with REST and extracting data from their flexible authorization plugins. It makes us do things very efficiently and effectively

  ### 6. Reviewing Tyk as a user (for Tyk-gateway opensource & Tyk Pro Demo)

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maan Tarng L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

1. Tyk has covered most of the required features of API gateway (like rate limiting etc).

2. Tyk open source gateway itself has the required features of an api gateway.

3. Tyk community is very supportive. They answer questions quickly.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

1. It will be niced if the trial license for Tyk docker demo pro can be lengthened to like 1 month instead of 14 days. Think it will give more time for user to evaulate Tyk. (just my opinion).

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tyk helps my team to manage APIs by adding these features into the APIs:

1. Basic Authentication
2. rate limiting
3. Custom authentication (using Tyk middleware)

My team can focus more on API code itself, and offload these features (no.1 - no.3 above) to Tyk.

  ### 7. The Tyk product in general is good.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

For the most parts, Tyk support is helpful and resolve my concerns.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

We are using the Gold support package, although Tyk managed to support us within the guranteed response time, but I usually got responses late in the envening which is off hour, so I needed to wait until the following day. Probably because Tyk support team has different working hours?

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Tyk to expose our internal APIs to external clients and currently using API CRD codebase config.

  ### 8. Good product and lots of documentation available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier P. | Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

We implemented an integration project with AWS Cognito that worked quickly and in which their support team helped us at all times. Additionally, the documentation on their website and all the videos they offer are very useful. They have many possibilities for securing APIs.

One of the standout features of Tyk API Gateway is its user-friendly interface. Setting up and configuring the integration was a breeze, thanks to an intuitive dashboard that allowed for quick and easy management of APIs, access control policies, and rate limiting. The overall user experience is excellent,

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

The web interface is not included in the opensource version, although they offer temporary licenses for its use.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tyk API Gateway simplified the task of API management and security configurations

  ### 9. New Tyk

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cesar D. | Especialista en TI, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk is Open Source, Tyk is Cost-Effective, Scalable and Performance ...

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

All It´s nice, why dislike?, Tyk is faster, more affordable, is more usable
and more highly rated by users.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In summary, Tyk addresses the challenges associated with API management, security, and scalability. It empowers organizations to effectively manage, secure, and optimize their APIs, leading to improved reliability, security, and efficiency, which ultimately benefits the organization as a whole.

  ### 10. A very good api management platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk is very customised and user friendly .

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

One feature jwt token is missing. We have to generate jwt token outside and use it. Go lang plugin documentation needs to be little more precise.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using tyk as integration tool between system and we are implementing custom logics inside tyk.

  ### 11. Great experience exploring the feataure

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karthik R B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

The architecture it followed and also the documentation.
Community help also seems to be very good when we raise any issue.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

1. Support for ARM completely
2. Took some extra time while building plugins with go and python as we needed follow community and other source to get more details.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Plugin integration was the main thing which we looked into tyk, which is helping us to solve handling most use cases in front before hitting upstream.

  ### 12. A Comprehensive API Gateway with Advanced Authentication Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdul R. | Engineering Lead , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk is a versatile API gateway that stands out for its open-source version, which includes all the essential features required for modern API management. The advanced authentication options, such as OpenID Connect (OIDC), set it apart from other open-source API gateways like Kong. The extensible plugin architecture allows for customization of Tyk's behavior, and developers can write custom native (golang) and gRPC plugins. Rate limiting, quotas, and other features can be easily enabled by modifying API definitions and policy files. A complete list of features can be found on Tyk's Github page.

Another significant advantage of Tyk is its analytics feature. Tyk Pump, a component of the open-source version, can be configured to extract analytics from the gateway, which can be invaluable for tracking API usage and performance.

The Tyk community forum is another helpful resource for users, providing assistance and support when needed. What's more, the open-source version of Tyk can be used in production environments at no cost.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

While the open-source version does have a slight learning curve, it provides a fully-featured API gateway without any feature lockout. The API designer, which is a GUI tool for generating API definitions and policies, is currently part of the Tyk dashboard, but it is not a core feature. It would be great if the designer tool were also open source, as it would further enhance Tyk's adoption.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as an API gateway to expose our microservices running in a Kubernetes cluster. We have developed custom plugins to authenticate our APIs with our own API key store in MongoDB and authenticate users via OIDC with Google identity platform linked with Google Workspace. Additionally, we use many built-in features like rate limiting, quotas, and more.

  ### 13. Tyk is an enterprise-ready open source gateway solution.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Santosh S. | Lead Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk is an open-source platform that also supports identity providers with custom middleware solutions.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

More documentation needs to get added from the point of view of a developer

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We did a proof of concept (POC) with an open source gateway solution to test a multi-tenant solution. The API was built in Node.js, and Keykloak was used as identity provider.

  ### 14. Great customer support from Tyk team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manav S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk is great when it comes to customer service. The response time is really fast and it doesn't take a long time for them to resolve even the most complex of issues.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

It can be a little complex to find the right documentation.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tyk makes API design and management really easy which makes us not worry about that part of the work.

  ### 15. A strategic solution enabling modern day API gateway provisioning and management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk has provided us with a seamless API management platform featuring an API gateway, a user-friendly dashboard, logs, analytics and a dev portal. Tyk team helped us build a custom oAuth plugin to support some of our API feature teams who don't use typical authentication mechanisms. We have always received excellent technical support from Tyk consultants and valuable insights to alternate solutions whenever required within a reasonable turnaround time. Tyk team have massively influenced how we envisaged our API access control, monitoring and management capabilities and enabled us to build a future-ready, secure and scalable solution with measurable cost benefits compared to our existing gateway and aligns perfectly with our strategic roadmaps.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

Just a one-off occasion where we had a few issues with inconsistent logs with a new Tyk pump version which impacted our business and had to be rolled back from production. Few questions were raised around product stability across different environment configurations.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us move away from usage-based cost model and aligns perfectly with our strategic roadmap by providing a modern API management solution.

  ### 16. Fantastic product, even better relationship and support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben W. | Lead DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

The tyk platform allows us a consolidated and secure front-of-house for our APIs, from the ultra modern, all the way back to our most legacy (20+y/o) APIs, and it works every time.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

We've not really experienced any down sides, there are more features available that we haven't yet had the time or resource to look in to using. There is a bit of a learning curve around policy and key management but Tyk are incredibly hands-on when it comes to additional support for customers.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Authh consolidation - we have lots of APIs built through various generations of technology and each comes with its own unique auth mechanism, tyk allows us to consolidate without changing underlying architectures.

Offloading of 'tedious' code.. there are a few examples of features that historically our developers would have had to implement within our api's which are now completely handled by tyk.. CORS, rate limiting etc.

  ### 17. A powerful, declarative API gateway gateway/ingress

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damon R. | DevOps Senior Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk does exactly what it promises with minimal fuss. It provides a stable, autoscaling api gateway/k8s ingress with all the modern functions you need, it works with kubernetes beautifully and gives us no issues at all, it just works.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

Not a lot, if anything it's the analytics provided in the dashboard and the dashboard itself. If you deploy infra as code you won't notice and if your sensible you will use tyk pump to push logging into elastic search or similar and use grafana anyway.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's entirely delivered our API gateway and k8s ingress needs simultaneously and allows the gateway endpoints to be deployed with the actual services as an ingress.

  ### 18. Great Product & Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

The support has been first-class, attentive and responsive to our needs.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

There is nothing that our organization disliked.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Works well for our business case, straightforward and reliable.

  ### 19. Partner implementing and maintaining the TYK solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

TYK is a very easy to set up and configure solution. It meets the most common needs of our customers.
Support is always very responsive and the TYK team is always looking for new features to add to its roadmap.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

No cloud hosting offer on GCP only available on AWS. GCP hosting is self-build

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The TYK solution accelerates the modernisation of services by moving from SOAP to REST without having to rewrite all the old services first

  ### 20. We trust Tyk to handle our growing amount of APIs at Bravissimo!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben E. | Lead Platform Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

We love the Tyk Operator! It's a very progressive, cutting edge tool, and when running a Kubernetes environment slots right in with other tools we use that use the operator model! Being able to declaratively say how we want our APIs handled is great.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

Honestly not a lot! My minor gripes are probably around the terminology can sometimes be a bit confusing between dashboards and control planes.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are growing the amount of microservices we have. To assist our developers, we're building an internal developer platform that allows them to self-serve the creation of these microservices. We heavily integrate Tyk into our solution so that developers can easily deploy and secure their APIs in a consistent way.

  ### 21. TYK API Gateway Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MH T. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

During project solutions, TYK has provided the necessary consultancy support. Once the tender is awarded, TYK has supported us promptly to answer our deployment solutions, queries and workaround.

A good consultancy and Ops team supporting us.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

To further improve on the API onboarding services via CICD Pipelines

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have informed TYK of the good-to-have features and look forward to them being included in future product releases.

  ### 22. Brilliant product from a company that really cares.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam B. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

They really care about their customers and go out of their way to ensure their product is delivering.

Ongoing product Development has also been great with frequent new features which are always included and never held back behind a pay wall.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

I really don't have any complaints. I've hit the occasional bug but no platform is bug free, in all cases their support has always responded and helped resolve the issues promptly.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tyk has allowed us to better utilise our own API's standardising their consumption and ensuring a consistent security posture.

We've also extended Tyk to encompass external API's allowing us a simple way to build elements of external API's into our own.

  ### 23. Ease of use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

It is generally easy to set up and use straight away for simple POC or general use cases. But it does have intensive configurations for different needs as well. And more importantly, their gateway is open source, and you can know what they are doing. They do integrate with open source tools like jager, zipkin for tracing.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

Documentation wasn't their strong point, but it is improving now. Tyk Dashboard provides only simple analytics reporting; you need to pump the information into other tools to get more info about your APIs. Sadly their integration with cloud platform is not very deep, mainly just using them as infrastructure platforms, no integration with S3, X-ray, Secret Managers, etc.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, the developer portal was bare and unable to use at an enterprise level. However, they developed an enterprise developer portal that provides more customization for enterprise needs.

  ### 24. Great solution, a real game changer in the world of API Management!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Callum D. | Managing Director, Asia, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Fantastic product, an easy-to-use self-service model with a great deal of knowledge on using and utilising the software to its best ability. We are a partner of Tyk & have successfully implemented this solution across Singapore & ASEAN. Looking forward to many more successful partnership years.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

No complaints about Tyk at all. I am looking forward to seeing their growth over the coming years.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

API management on AWS.

  ### 25. Excellent product and great people

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Seamus C. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

The platform is very easy to use, has all right features and is very reliable. The people are very helpful and really easy to work with.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

There's nothing I dislike. It would be great to be able to add more sophisticated logic to mock responses.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They provide our API gateway which handles policies and rate limiting and provides a developer portal. This saves us building these features ourselves.

  ### 26. A very good product, with lots of features to take advantage of

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

A great team to work with! No matter which business area we speak to we get a great experience, they are all great people. The product itself is also very good, far better than other API gateways I've used in the past

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

Nothing I can think of. In the past we have witenssed some bugs which have sneaked thought their testing process but this has happened much less on v3.0.8 and 4.0.3 (so far)

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest one we had was giving us a feature which allowed API producers to identfy the Gateway as a client using digital signatures, In most cases in the past this has been done using SSL verification but some Dev's dont want to utilise this tecnology. This was a great collabortive effort from both Tyk and my team.

  ### 27. Batteries-included api gateway with good support for cloud-native workloads.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

The Kubernetes operator allows us to manage all configurations of our API definitions in git and deploy them alongside the relevant applications. This removes the barrier between our developers and production.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

The documentation can be a bit confusing for some of the operational aspects of running Tyk. In some cases, the documentation has been incorrect or missing entirely.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are building an API-first platform that external customers will consume. Tyk is providing a platform we can use to control access to those APIs via a performant, scalable, central place.

  ### 28. Tyk is user friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kian Ann C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk is lightweight, easy to setup and deploy.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

As Tyk is a fairly new product among the other API Gateway in the market. Certains features are still missing

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping Clients to route their API

  ### 29. Very simple to use, very powerful, works great with Kubernetes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arif A. | Technical Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk is easy to set up, easy to integrate, support GraphQL and works excellent on K8s.
The best dashboard out of any we tried.
The docs are solid, and there is a significant and responsive community to help out when things get stuck.
The support service is excellent, def recommend taking that up. Helpful when planning to move to production.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

The included Dev Portal is pretty basic. I haven't tried the Enterprise Portal, so I can't comment.
The cloud pricing is open, but you need to speak with sales to get pricing for the self-hosted stuff; that's annoying.

**Recommendations to others considering Tyk:**

The engineers on pre-sales are an excellent source to get bootstrapped with makes sense to get a free account on the SaaS before going further. The tutorials are worth doing, esp if you are new to GraphQL in this context

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for securing and versioning an extensive estate of APIs. So much more straightforward and stable to run a microservice architecture than trying to do it manually. The integration with CI/CD removes a lot of pain from the programme.

  ### 30. Most complete and feature-rich API Gateway

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian B. | Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

The APIs behind Tyk, enabling us to provision IaaC configuration for our API Gateways, without having to rely on ClickOps.
The onboarding process and the support we receive from Tyk Team are fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

Nothing to dislike in particular - documentation didn't cover some complex scenarios/setups, but Tyk Team has always been helpful and willing to provide guidance whenever needed.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 31. Complete API Gateway

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Veysel P. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Tyk?**

Tyk has many features, like request manipulation and policy per role. You can create roles and assign access rights to a role by just editing JSON file. I think Tyk is a complete solution.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

I think learning is tough. It does not have good PoCs to learn. Documentation is hard to follow. There should be simple PoCs and tutorials. In this way, newcomers can implement Tyk in their projects faster.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We implemented stateless authentication by using Tyk. We created roles and gave access rights to them. When we create an API, we edit policy file to let specific roles send requests to the API.

Tyk support and account management do an excellent job at taking into account customers needs. We got the chance to be involved in design stages for features such as Dynamic Client Registration.

The support team is helpful. We have management and technical support from Tyk for long-running issues.

**What do you dislike about Tyk?**

Tyk dashboards are limited and do not allow much drilling down. Often, we had to get the data from MongoDB to chart the data we needed.

**What problems is Tyk solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NA, I am providing support to a client using Tyk API Management Platform; I am not the direct party benefiting from Tyk API Management Platform.

The need to interrogate multiple systems, pricing oracles and transactions via a simple user interface.
