Sketch is essential in our workflow for building brand systems. While we often start early explorations in tools like Adobe Illustrator, the real work happens in Sketch. Its library and component system allows us to create scalable visual systems where typography, color, and elements can be updated consistently across the entire project.

This makes it incredibly powerful for developing structured, flexible brand identities instead of just static designs. We’ve been using Sketch for years, and it has proven to be a reliable and efficient tool for organizing and evolving visual systems. It’s a core part of how we turn strategy into something usable and consistent.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The main downside is the cost structure when working in teams. The licensing per user can add up quickly, especially when you need multiple collaborators accessing shared libraries and projects.

Additionally, the storage limits for shared workspaces can feel restrictive over time, particularly when managing multiple brand systems and large design files. It’s manageable, but something to consider as your team and project volume grow.

Sketch helps us solve the problem of inconsistency when building brand systems. Instead of creating isolated design pieces, we can structure everything into components and shared libraries, which ensures that typography, colors, and visual elements stay aligned across all assets.

It also reduces rework significantly. When something changes in the system, we can update it once and see it reflected everywhere, which saves time and keeps projects organized.

Overall, it allows us to move from designing individual pieces to building scalable visual systems, making our work more efficient, consistent, and easier to manage as projects grow.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I was designing website and app prototypes using Sketch. It allows me to create a responsive design with ease. I can also design nice graphics inside of the program; it makes awesome prototypes. I love the prototyping UI. It looks really nice and I create awesome stuff with it. It's great for my presentations. I have to show and explain working prototypes to clients and developers. This UI is great because it is very smooth and works well. When our developers were designing mock-ups, there was always a back and forth with the design team. Switching to Sketch helped us reduce the back and forth.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I think the entire UI as a whole could be upgraded so it looks more modern and fun to use. I feel like there are so many things and the text is super small. The way it's currently set up should be minimized more for ease of use. It took some getting used to. Some layers were locked and we couldn't figure out how to unlock them.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I create responsive designs and awesome prototypes with ease using Sketch. It reduces back and forth between teams and is great for presenting to clients and developers.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I love Sketch for its simplicity and lightweight feel, making it my go-to editor for vector images. Even though I'm not really an artist or designer, using Sketch is a breeze compared to Figma. I started using Sketch as a replacement for Fireworks, and I’ve stuck with it because it fits my needs perfectly. I appreciate how easy it is to access the basic tools for tasks like light raster image editing, editing SVGs, and recoloring things. Everything I need is extremely easy to access, which makes my workflow very efficient.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I think maybe the UI with exporting SVGs/PNGs could be updated a little. Even though the UX for this has not changed in the whole time I've used Sketch and I use this feature often, I always end up accidentally exporting a PNG instead of an SVG because of how away the export options are to the button to export.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sketch for editing vector images and making changes to multiple SVGs at once. It's my go-to for recoloring icons, testing design changes without altering CSS, and it feels simpler than other tools I've tried.

Overall, Sketch is a strong and capable tool, but it sometimes feels a bit behind when it comes to modern collaboration features. The biggest downside is that it works only on macOS, which makes teamwork difficult if everyone isn’t using a Mac. It’s great for solo work, but cross-platform collaboration definitely takes a hit.

Easy to use on both iPad and laptop. I can sync across the company team workspace with a single click. Being able to create a note repository for the design team is also super helpful.

It only runs on macOS, which is a limitation at times, especially when we’re travelling to a client location.

It’s our go-to software for sketching and designing on the go. The vector tools are super helpful, and the smooth, lag-free rendering is amazing. The font and design plug-ins are real time-savers. Wireframing is also easier because there’s a large library of templates available.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch is simple and uncluttered, but it is a powerful design tool. I've used Sketch for years and while I've tried competing products, they never feel as intuitive. Sketch is the perfect product for web design work but I also turn to it for digital brochures and other graphic design tasks, because it's the fastest way for me to move from concept to finished product.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I'm still wrapping my head around some of the new features. As I'm working independently, I use the stand alone app, and while I would be interested in some of the cloud features

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketch does a lot of heavy lifting for me: asset library management, style guide development, graphic design, marketing design, website design. It is quick, intuitive, and powerful, so it's a very good way to produce materials that might end up in documents, powerpoint presentations, online platforms, or websites. It's the easiest starting point and iterative tool for me to transform ideas into products. It's also useful for setting up reusable templates and symbols which keep designs consistent and reliable over time.

The biggest drawback is the lack of seamless real-time collaboration. Compared to tools like Figma, working simultaneously with teammates doesn’t feel as natural or frictionless, which can slow down fast-moving or remote teams.

Its ease of use. And it was one of the first software programs for designing UX and UI interfaces. It wasn't expensive, the annual license was affordable. It works very well on Apple, and it has very useful plugins (addons). As for artificial intelligence, I don't know if they have improved currently.

It seems to have fallen behind regarding new software. It's not a web application; you need to download the app.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I utilize this to make high constancy mockups. Sketch is a lighter rendition of Adobe Artist, and that is okay by me! Don't bother making layers or add objects to them, they're made consequently.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

The best I like about this application is its user-friendly user interface, meant to optimize the design workflow. The thoroughly clean and user-friendly layout makes it possible for graphic designers to simply get around through artboards, layers, and tools, which allows a smooth and helpful design experience. The simplicity of the user interface helps to ensure that even newbies can easily grasp the principles and start making wonderful layouts.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Although Sketch provides several advantages, there are some factors to not forget. One aspect is its compatibility with operating systems, as Sketch is presently only accessible for macOS. **What do you like best about Sketch?**

I live the fact that you don't need to define "laws" beetween objects you design. It's very easy and fast to design new objects. I like how the pen instrument work, sometimes it's also useful for very basic graphic jobs.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Symbols are not as efficient as components in Figma. They are easier to make thatn Figma but rules are not sufficient to define every aspect of a single component. Same for autolayouts, sometimes you don't need them, but in long run projects are needed.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think they are going in the right direction for what concerns the symbols but still they are very basic compared to components in Figma. Overrides and Symbols should be mixed in one solution.

ketch's compatibility can be limited. As it is primarily designed for macOS, it may not be as accessible for users on other operating systems. Another downside is that Sketch lacks some advanced features found in other design software. For example, complex 3D modeling capabilities are absent, which can be a drawback for certain projects. Lastly, the cost may still be a concern for some. Although it's more affordable than subscription-based alternatives, the one-time purchase can still be a significant investment.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

As a UX Designer, Sketch has provided great features for creating screens for mobile and desktop. From there, I have been able to create prototypes and manage design systems with ease through its intuitive UX. The mechanic of symbols to globally replace or change design elements is a game-changer.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The MacOS exclusivity Sketch has is a bummer because it is tied to an OS rather than being a web app. It is not that great to collaborate with other designers compared to Figma.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Presenting ideas and journeys using prototyping has been great as it allows to storytell effectively and this definitely leaves a strong impression on our clients. Due to this, healthy feedback and discussions are happening allow for better iterations in the designs that are being made.

I think the interface of Sketch is efficient, especially for a new designer. The artboard system is also good. I really like how the symbols work and can be used and reused throughout. The responsiveness is also a plus.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I really do not like how Sketch is only exclusively for MacOS. It makes collaboration with people on another OS impossible. 
- I feel Sketch has limited plugins compared to major competitors.
- A lot of functionalities rely on the sidebar  (or topbar sometimes), instead of simple click-work on the same place compared to many competitor tools.

It is a complete package for me as a UX designer. I use the symbols and create an icon library using that feature which I later reuse in the mail concept / wirerame file. I also do the prototyping there which is nice.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

This was the go to tool for Wireframing,  Mockups etc. 
Figma came into the picture and completely changed the game.

When I was a power user (as it was a part of my job and I used it daily), this was what we moved to, away from using Adobe illustrator as a stand-in tool, drawing redlines for pixels (no rem or dp back then). 

Illustrator was so rapidly subverted by this that I believe everyone in the UI industry jumped on.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

It lost me when Figma came into the picture. Being locked on the Mac, it was simply not scalable enough when you needed to work anywhere in a pinch.

Just like this displaced illustrator, figma displaced this by being browser based and multi-player.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned, Illustrator was a tool we used not because it was great, but because it was the most well-suited at that point in time. When sketch came into the picture, us UI designers were finally having a tool built for us, instead of using one and making do, like we did with Illustrator.

It understood that we were building for digital platforms and not for print media, so every tool and function let us work easier.

Best tool for creating Wireframing and Mockups. It helps me create multiple design options to solve a problem creatively. Also, it allows east to export artboards and have unlimited working space.

The only dislike is that it is not compatible with other operating systems rather than Mac. Other than that it very useful tool.

What I like the most without a doubt is the agility it gave me to design digital products and its great user experience. I used to work with Illustrator before, so when I switched to Sketch it was a pivotal moment in my professional career.

What I liked the least is the live collaborative work part. I think that's one of the big differences with Figma. In fact, it was the aspect that made us decide to migrate to Figma, although I am still a Sketch user.

I've been using Sketch for several years now. It's incredibly versatile and intuitive., The user interface is super easy to use, and everything is laid out in a way that makes sense. Plus, It offers a wide range of tools and features that make it easy to create all kinds of designs, from simple wireframes to detailed, high-quality designs. What's also cool is that there are tons of plugins available. Also, the Sketch community is fantastic - so many resources and support are available.

It would be amazing if Sketch was available on iPad, as it would allow for greater flexibility and convenience in designing on-the-go. With the touch interface and portability of the iPad, it would be much easier to make quick changes to designs, preview them in context, and share them with others without relying on a desktop or laptop computer.

Plugins and integrations are more in number so that we can easily collaborate with the new team members and use their own preferredd style of working with certain integrations.

We need MacOS to use Sketch, although it's good we have a few widows systems where we cannot use this software.

If I could, the only thing I would like to change about Sketch would be its cost. The license for a yearly renewal can be pretty expensive to maintain, and with other competitors in the market, it makes more sense to reconsider.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I use this to create high fidelity mockups.  Sketch is a lighter version of Adobe Illustrator, and that's just fine by me!  It's all the basics any digital designer would want or need, none of the unnecessary features of Adobe. Easy to export artboards, unlimited working space. No need to create layers or add objects to them, they're made automatically.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Creating vector paths is something I'm still getting used to. Its just different from Illustrator, which isn't good or bad.  Just takes some time to get used to.

- The performance of Sketch as software on macOS is magnificent. I have my files go up to 10GBs and never faced a hiccup in performance during work.

- There is a very short learning curve – a mini-course can help you become a pro at Sketch.

– The UI is really clean and user-friendly.

- The ability to work offline let me turn my time on aeroplanes & airport into something more productive. 

– There are a large number of plugins available to help you do a few more things than Figma

– Use of symbols is great for reusing elements multiple times and then changing them all in one click. For eg. color of buttons in a web design

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

– Sometimes, my clients (who are a bit techy) ask if they can play a bit with the design/colours. If they have windows, it is just not possible.

– Collaborating on design with people using windows can be tricky

– Lacks features to auto-centre an element in its group or artboard

Creating web design prototypes fast, ability to receive feedback from clients, and quickly updating the design as per clients' requirements.

Windows users cannot use Sketch as it is MacOS exclusive. This is not great as it prevents the Windows community from using this design tool. While there are a lot of plugins but some are not updated in a timely manner.

Sketch is great software, and the best thing about this is that it comes with a wide variety of plug-ins and extensions, making the work even easier. It allows us to create symbols which is another excellent feature.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I haven't found anything to dislike about this software as it fulfills my design needs. It is mac only software, but if they can launch it for windows, too, it would be great.

I mostly use it for my graphic design freelance work on upwork. I made all of the vector graphics I use while designing websites for my clients on sketch only. It creates beautiful designs.
