**What do you like best about SiteLock?**

I appreciate Sitelock for its malware detection and removal capabilities, various browsing frequency settings, and enabling DDoS and junk mail protection to the website's firewall. Furthermore, SiteLock's provision of SSL certification and compliance services such as HIPAA and PCI-DSS are additional factors that contribute to my positive opinion about the company.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

While evaluating the security services of the Sitelock website, we experienced problems in cases where some of the traffic allowed by the website is blocked by the website's firewall. This has led to some glitches on our website and affected the user experience of visitors.

**What problems is SiteLock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we add more plugins to our website, plugin management quickly becomes a serious maintenance issue. However, each plugin uploaded by a website introduces a new code to the website that can be potentially dangerous. In many cases, website owners cannot directly control the plugin code and cannot trust the plugin publisher. This is the moment when organizations are vulnerable to security attacks. This is the main reason for usnig SiteLock for practical our practical usage. We use 360-degree scanning of our websites. Daily malware scanning, daily FTP scanning, website application scanning.

**What do you like best about SiteLock?**

The dashboard gives you an overall picture on current status of your website health along with visitor log and location status. If only they could make these reports downloadable it would be even better.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

The setup process is very complicated. The requirements are not very clearly provided making it difficult to get it running, immediately. The customer service is just ok. The report & dashboard doesn't really makes it clear on what Sitelock is working on

**What problems is SiteLock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently using it for protection against malware and hoping that sitelock provides better security in this regard.

**What do you like best about SiteLock?**

At this point - absolutely nothing. Just a very frustrated paying client with a critical security issue and an inability to find anyone to assist me.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

ZERO customer service. Forget about how critical your issue is. You will NEVER get them over the phone. You will wait - literally - for HOURS.

**Recommendations to others considering SiteLock:**

Stay away. Stay away. Stay away. If you have an issue - no matter how critical it is - be prepared to be put on hold for HOURS and then get hung up on. Customer service simply does not exist. If you are running a business, be prepared to take hours off your day just to connect with customer service. This is probably the worst customer experience I have had with any IT services related company.

Well, it's a site security company so I am trying to secure my site.

We tried canceling the account multiple times a few months ago, and they kept charging us for the account. We could not get a hold of our representative who signed us up and tried emailing support and got bounce-back emails from the support email address.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

The service is not very helpful and they keep charging you even after you try and cancel.

No benefits that we've seen.

There isn't anything that I like about this product.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

- Our website was infected with a virus and Sitelock didn't catch it.
- Tried to restore from a previous backup (backup status was "GOOD") but in fact backups haven't been running in a long time due to a size capacity restraint (not sure why the backups would be green and state "GOOD" when backups aren't going through)
- Tried to escalate the issue with Sitelock to say we needed to restore the website from a previous date but the restore kept failing.  They said they would escalate this but I didn't receive a timely response - I had to wait about a week.
- Tried to restore our website to a previous version but it got stuck (the status was frozen as "IN PROGRESS").  Called Sitelock and they said they need to escalate this to their development team (who customers can't talk to) and they work a set schedule (not 24x7).  Still waiting for a response from them...it's been approximately three weeks since the original issue

They're not solving any problems.

**What do you like best about SiteLock?**

That they appear to be going out of business.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

Completely inneffective, even when you pay the ridiculous price for the premium package. The product does not protect you from getting hacked and when you do, the SiteLock technical team compounds the damage instead of fixing it. Then want's to add more charges for actually fixing it. But nothing compares to the problems that SiteLock creates itself. It randomly moves content to their CDN which breaks links, and conflicts with SSL, so your site goes down. Hosting tech team can fix it, but it will inevitably happen again and without warning.

SiteLock did not solve any problems it was designed to, but instead created many serious problems.

The company is unethical and not worth the money

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

I agreed to a 12 month subscription 5 months ago with SiteLock due to my hosting service not being able to connect them properly to my Managed WordPress website. 

Ok, no problems. So I want to transfer the subscription from one site to another as the old site was killed for a new site after 5 months of use. Ok, no problem another 7 months to go. 

NOPE I have to sign for another 12 months of service. I asked why, they said it is in their term, of service that a new site is a new service. I reviewed the term of service with them on the phone and it is not stated that a transfer of domains starts a whole new service, not even covered.  So I am forced to agree to another 12 months illegally breaking their term of service with me. That to me is a major breach of ethics for a security company. I can not trust that if a digital breach occurred I that I can trust their terms of the agreement for their liability. 

On top of that, I see I have to request 30 days prior to the contract ending that I wish to terminate the contract before renewal. I said, OK start the new 12 months and I am officially declaring that we will not renew. I was told I could not do that as it has to be 30 days prior. (Me venting - Not 365 or 29 days, 30 days exactly prior). I pointed out to the manager that she does not even know her terms of agreement twice and that I was not pleased at all. I would probably stay with them if they honored their agreements.

This company has a decent product but they are unethical. I do not recommend you using them because of this.

11. Term, Termination and Automatic Renewal.
(a) Term. The term of this Agreement shall commence upon the execution of the Registration Form (“Activation Date”) and, unless earlier terminated as provided herein, shall continue for twelve (12) months (“Initial Term”). The Initial Term and each Renewal Term shall automatically renew for addition twelve (12) month periods (each, a “Renewal Term,” Renewal Terms and the Initial Term shall be generically referred to each as an “Annual Term” and collectively as the “Subscription Term”) unless either party gives the other notice of non-renewal Thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of the then-current Annual Term (“Non-Renewal”). The pricing shall not increase during an Annual Term; however, SiteLock may increase the pricing applicable to any Renewal Term by providing Customer notice of the same prior to such renewal.
(b) Termination of Service. Customer agrees that subscription-based Services can only be
terminated by Customer pursuant to Section 12 (Cancellation).elow. Upon termination Customer agrees to stop using the Services, and to pay all monies owed to SiteLock, if any. Customer agrees that SiteLock can terminate this Agreement at any time with or without cause, if SiteLock has reason to believe that Customer is violating the Agreement in any way, or if the applicable Service is permanently discontinued, subject to Section 16 (Refund).elow. After termination or expiration of the Subscription Term, the provisions of this Agreement that ought to survive termination, shall survive.

Be aware you can not trust them to bid by their own terms of agreement. This is shady as hell for a security company trying to build trust.

Nothing, this company is the worst company I worked with all year.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

When you have a problem they use aggressive sales tactics to sign you up to a long term contract. When you want to leave, they say they can not terminate your agreement until you talk to them and they will call you soon but they never call. You then go onto their help support page and the person says that they are not the right person to talk to and they can not put you through to the right person. That leaves you with your only option of canceling your credit card.

Stay away from this company at all costs. I regret ever signing up with them.

You can not leave their company, there is no way to exit.

They sure know how to convince people to buy their services and then break their promises.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

In May 2019 I had a problem with one of the websites hosted on my server and I was directed to Sitelock as the host provider believed there was a security breach. The Sitelock agent convinced me to secure all the websites (10) under my server and confirmed that I’m able to change the domains at any time (since I have clients that come and go).

It took them around 2 months to fix the initial problem I had. While they kept blaming third party factors, it was clear that the same website still had infected files as I could see them in file manager and they sent an email to apologize and clean the website again.

A few months later, one of my clients decided to move on, so I moved that complete website to another server. I thought the Sitelock scanners would detect something unusual. When I logged in to my Sitelock dashboard, everything looked good, with all green check marks. The website isn’t even hosted there anymore….I wonder, what are they monitoring exactly??

At that point, I decided to submit a ticket in my Sitelock account to change that particular domain. Didn’t hear back at all. A week later I sent the same message again. Still no response. I was then advised to contact them by phone. When I did, I was told that to make account changes like that, I had to speak with the Billing team, but they only work certain hours, so I left them a voice message. A few days later they finally called back and I was advised that they won’t change the domain because it’s too close to the end of my subscription cycle, which is still 2 months away!! The agent (Mr. Tyrell Foard) said he would speak to the manager, and he did, but came back with the same response, that they won’t change the domain for me, like they promised at the start of the agreement.

I raised my concern that I moved some of the websites under my account, but that the dashboard shows everything is good, the agent said he understood my frustration, but there is nothing they can do.

In the end, I feel I never got the professional service I was looking for, nor did I get the customer service I was expecting, and certainly I wasn’t expecting broken promises.

Do NOT waste your time or money with them. I am currently seeking legal advice over this agreement.

I tried to resolve the problems with them several times, but I have come to the conclusion that they are actually UNWILLING to help.

T_Froad's, great customer service. He was willing to help and did it very fast. 

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

They came up with weird messages like "your website, notably exceeds the limitations of your Sitelock plan level" but when we asked them to provide evidence that we had a limit agreement they were unable to do so. Instead they put a price not even listed on their plan. Also they talked bad about google analytics citing an article that some dude wrote promoting his own software but turns out Google Analytics was running on his own site. What kind of customer service gets into that? 

**Recommendations to others considering SiteLock:**

Stay away! They show no loyalty, their terms are not clear. As a client you deserve to know exactly what you are paying for. 

**What problems is SiteLock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were only given two options: either to pay what they asked for $499.99/month!! (yeah, that crazy considering that Sucuri charges that price per year and unlimited bandwidth) or let them know we won't so they turn off their services. Of course we weren't going to pay that much so we decided to stop everything with them, never go back to it, and warn others before they get into the same ordeal for months!!

**What do you like best about SiteLock?**

One of the advantages of having Sitelock on my website is that it already has the recognition and prestige, more than enough worldwide, which allows me to safeguard the credibility of my site no matter where my visitors or users access it from. Another benefit that Sitelock offers is that it speeds up the loading time of the information hosted on my site by up to 50%, and with that, it helps keep my visitors attentive, stay on it, return, recommend it, and make purchases. It also detects faults and errors that other programs do not detect.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

What I like the least is that when contacting technical support, they only respond in English and you cannot reply in Spanish. I also don't like that automatic renewal is always set by default when activating the service. Although I am not going to do it yet, I don't like that when I want to deactivate SiteLock, the only way to do it is by calling directly to the United States, because it is easier and cheaper to send an email. It is an unintuitive application and difficult to use, requiring some tutorial to be able to use it. Lastly, I also don't like the price that has to be paid for the tools it offers, as it is a very abusive price.

You don't need to install anything. You just have to configure it in a web browser. The interface is in English and Spanish. It works on old devices so you don't have to worry if you don't have a state-of-the-art device. And remember, for it to work you must always have an INTERNET connection. You just have to try it and download it!!!

**What problems is SiteLock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SiteLock is a security tool that protects my website and my business. It is one of the most comprehensive online security services available today. SiteLock has regularly scanned my website for vulnerabilities or threats. From malware removal to database security and continuous security assurance, SiteLock is a valuable protector of my website and its reputation.

After working with SiteLock, the past two and a half years that I've been with El Pollo Loco, I like the professionalism I've experienced with the company and feeling that is displayed to me of having our best interest in mind when it comes to our security.

Maybe it's because I only deal with SiteLock once every quarter, but I can honestly say I haven't had an issue to report that I dislike about the company.

SiteLock has been a reliable and trusted source for our company when it comes to our external penetration testing.  We are able to sleep better at night knowing our brand is secure from a network perimeter perspective.

The business problem solved by SiteLock is they cover our PCI Compliancy by performing the required quarterly external penetration scans on our restaurant firewalls.  The benefits I realized are the detailed reports provided that make it simple to identify and remediate any issues found.  It provides great detail to help resolve the problem.

SiteLock provides a quality services with great support.
We have been offering SiteLock to our customers for over 3 years and use it ourselves. Their service just works and when their are issues, the SiteLock team is very responsive.

We would like to see more training materials and customization options. 

**Recommendations to others considering SiteLock:**

We have been a business partner of theirs for multiple years offering their services to our customers. Feedback from our customers has been positive and our experience with SiteLock as a BP has been great.

Help our customers protect their online brand reputation and their customers. 
The SiteLock solution bundled with our SSL certificates provides customers with key pieces they need to protect their sites from phishing and malware attacks.

Great looking dashboard , but the features just don't work properly

very poorly designed back end. Repeatedly scanning third party URLs and  then telling us that our site is infected. Point blank refusal to explain what the "infection" is or to give any further information. They treat autistic people terribly and actively discriminate and refuse to deal.

I like it that it's a service that stays in the background to take care of things, and only sends you notices when there is an issue to take care of. So far I havn't had any issues, and SiteLock seems to catch any issues, that other scanners that I use doesn't.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

Everything can always be cheaper and better. But my biggest concern is that invoicing can't be done in batches of a couple times a month, compared to when the account was added to the controlpanel. But that's really not a big issue, would just make my life easier :)

SiteLock helps me keep my customers website safe, and free from malicious code.

A very easy to use and understand UI, full of usefull options and nice reporting capabilities

One thing, that once you assign a domain, the only way to change it is to set up an app from scratch.

As Sitelock partner we can deliver an app that ideally bundle with our other security applications, making it a out-of-the -box solution for customers that want to keep their data and website safe.

At least they answer the phone but they won't actually help you.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

They will show false positives for Google Analytics tag, then charge you to remove it, then send you an email saying they were wrong and it was a false positive and that they didn’t actually remove any malware, but won’t refund your money.

Stay far away

their contracts, 
their greediness , their cancellation policy in short , don't get involved to begin with

simply don't , the contract you get into is something that in business does not work a year is a long time and there is no reason for this . their cancellation fee is ridiculous so put them away as a scam , they know their job but you simply give up the choice to work with the or not once your suckered in

when you sign with sitelock which hostgator is pushing you for   you sign a total one sided contract that only benefits them . 

their sales is smooth and promises the world , delivery not so much , they are very expensive and when you decide you want to cancel then agreement which you sign for a year  ( which service today signs an agreement for a year?) you can cancel but that is a cancellation fee of 50% of your annual fee. so they took me for 6500 usd 

you are not able to downgrade the amount of sites just increase. in short they are a scam , a company that offer you a one sided contract and are going for your money ,

 stay away. is like a a marriage you cannot get out of . and there are better alternatives

SiteLock really gives you peace of mind. Once you have it you don't have to worry about someone hacking into your site or plaguing it with malware. 

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

It's a little confusing to set up, especially if you're not too technical savvy and don't have any technical people on your team. Onboarding could be better.

**Recommendations to others considering SiteLock:**

I'd advise to get someone to help you onboard SiteLock, either from their team or a consultant to make sure it's working properly. QA was difficult.

Website security. We haven't had any issues since adopting SiteLock.

**What do you like best about SiteLock?**

The customer service is outstandingly personal, detailed and efficient. Overall, I've received an excellent service. The control panel is very extensive and easy to navigate therefore making it extremely user friendly for us and our customers.

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

For the purpose of reselling, set-up within WHMCS was very long winded. I believe the 'Prevent' product should already come as a bundled option, rather than us bundling two products (11381 SCAN & 11383 WAF) together inside our WHMCS to provide 'Prevent' to our customers.

**What problems is SiteLock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are finding and resolving malware issues fast, preventing compromises and providing caching services through SiteLock Prevent to really speed up the loading times of our customers web sites. Our customers web sites have never been so fast and secure and they are very thankful for that.

We have been setting our clients up with SiteLock's scanners for a couple of years now, and have nearly 100 clients using this solution.  It's extremely helpful in ensuring security, and their team is very reactive.

I had a quick issue that required the need to have called them - not only did I get someone to pick up right away, she was knowledgeable and made the process easy. My issue was resolved in under 5 minutes. Fantastic customer service which is almost as important as the product itself - thank you!

The learning curve was a bit steep but comes with the territory.

It is low-cost way to add an extra layer or security to a site for you and your customers.  It is really quick and easy to get a hold of support regardless of how technical or simple your question is.  There is always someone there to quickly answer your call and help you with your inquiry.

At this point no specific dislikes.  No major or consistent issues have been reported by customers.

Additional to the extra layer of security, Sitelock is a great service to quickly grow your product line and increasing average order value for each customer.

service provides some useful, albeit rudimentary,  information on web site health

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

Sitelock may perform a useful service, but be wary of giving them your credit card information.
When you sign on for the paid service, Sitelock:
1) hides (makes it difficult to find) the fact that they default auto-renew (you can't sign up without agreeing to have them automatically bill your credit card every year);
2) hides (makes it difficult to find) how to stop auto-renew:
  a) you can't just stop auto-renew from your billing panel, the way you can with reputable businesses;
  b) you have to hunt their web site for a link (in extremely small font) to the page which contains instructions for cancelling;
  c) when you get to that page, turns out it's the 5000+ word "Terms of Service" document which you have to scour to find the - get this - PHONE NUMBER - you then have to call and get put on hold (or if you like, they will call you back 3 days later.) Once you finally get through, you have to jump through a lot of security hoops.
All that just to cancel the service.
Their product may or may not be OK, but be forwarned that with Sitelock, it's not easy to get out once you're in.

However, it's pricey. What's more, I don't feel engaged in this service at all. Without having any control over the process, it sometimes feels like I am only paying for the logo on my site.

One of my websites was DDoS attacked, bringing down my website and negatively affecting my earnings via one of my affiliate sites.  After this issue, I found SiteLock and was able to integrate within my entire affiliate network.  I have not had any issues or attacks since beginning to use SiteLock.

I was the victim of a hack and since the incident SiteLock has stopped multiple other hack attempts.  I'm writing this SiteLock review because the product has helped my business so much.  Getting hacked is really stressful.  

**What do you dislike about SiteLock?**

I really haven't had any negative experiences with the company at this point. 

**Recommendations to others considering SiteLock:**

If web security is important for your business, or even if you just don't want to have your web presence interrupted by hackers, I would at least consider this solution.

It is solving the business problem of web security both for me and for my potential customers.
