"Intuitive BI with AI fearures"
What do you like best about Sisense?

I like that Sisense is easy to be used by non-technical users. The dashboard design is really user-friendly and intuitive. I also like the AI features they're introducing. I like the scalability in Kubernetes deployment. The initial setup of Sisense was really simple. The documentation was really rich and accurate, and the startup time was really short. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

I don't like that the Windows version is no longer evolving. We have customers that are not able to switch to Linux and Kubernetes, so they have limited features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jacqueline Cordell of Sisense

Hi Alan, thank you for the review! I would love to see you around our community. The community offers a ton of resources and is where we encourage our customers to interact together. :)

"Seamless White-Label Embedded Analytics That Scales with Us"
What do you like best about Sisense?

We've been using Sisense for a few years now to embed analytics directly into our platform and the experience has been really positive. The ability to white-label dashboards and integrate them into our own product via the Compose SDK means our customers get a seamless analytics experience that feels native to what we've built. The flexibility to work with both live connections and ElastiCube models has been really valuable as our data architecture has evolved. The AI features like natural language querying are something our users genuinely get excited about. It's a platform that has scaled well with us and the support team has been responsive whenever we've needed them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

Like any complex platform, there is a learning curve when you first get started, particularly around data modelling and the initial setup of embedded environments. Some of the more advanced configurations can take time to get right, and it's worth investing in onboarding properly to get the most out of it early on. Documentation has improved a lot over the years, but occasionally you need to dig a little deeper or lean on support for more niche use cases. These are fairly minor points for a platform of this depth and they haven't taken away from the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A versatile and evolving BI tool"
What do you like best about Sisense?

Sisense offers developers an intuitive interface. Building models (live and elastic) is easy and straightforward. Basic capabilities are easy to learn and adapt. There is a range of widgets to choose from. I'm personally a fan of Blox given its versatility.

As a service, the support we receive for issues and queries is always outstanding. Though some issues take longer to be resolved, we are kept up to date on the progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

We struggled integrating it with Slack. Some of the basic widget customisations need custom scripting (if it is a frequently requested feature/capability the team strives to add it in the upcoming product releases, which is good). Having to purchase addons from third-party vendors for basic features is not ideal.

Lacks the ability to search for a metric to identify which dashboard contains it unless the metric is explicitly mentioned in the dashboard name. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jacqueline Cordell of Sisense

Priscilla- nice to hear from you! We're glad to hear that you find Sisense to be a versatile and intuitive BI tool and that you appreciate the range of widgets and the outstanding support. We understand your concerns about the integration with Slack and the need for custom scripting for basic widget customizations. We're continuously working to improve our product and your feedback is valuable in this process.

As you know, I am always here as a connection, reach out whenever!

"Intuitive Dashboards, Minimal Learning Curve"
What do you like best about Sisense?

I use Sisense for business intelligence, data visualization, and reporting. I really appreciate its easy-to-use interface, which allows me to work faster without needing advanced technical knowledge. I can quickly build and customize dashboards using drag-and-drop features, saving time and effort. I like that Sisense performs quickly and makes sharing dashboards easy. The ability to create interactive dashboards quickly makes Sisense especially valuable for turning complex data into clear, visual insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

Sometimes advanced features take time to learn, and dashboard customization can feel limited without deeper technical knowledge. Sisense could improve advanced features by offering clearer in-product guidance, step-by-step tutorials, and more examples for complex analytics. For dashboard customization, additional layout flexibility, more visualization options, and simpler controls for advanced settings would make it easier for non-technical users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jacqueline Cordell of Sisense

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Sisense. "Effortless Data Analysis and Visualization"
What do you like best about Sisense?

I like how easy Sisense makes it to analyze and visualize data. The dashboards are clean, customizable, and very intuitive to use. I also appreciate the speed at which it processes large datasets and how smoothly it integrates data from multiple sources. It helps me combine multiple data sources, visualize trends, and make data-driven decisions quickly. Sisense offers better data integration, more powerful dashboards, and a smoother user experience, so switching made our analytics workflow much more efficient. The initial setup of Sisense was quite easy and straightforward. The onboarding guides and documentation were clear, and most configurations were simple to follow. Overall, the setup process was much easier than expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

Sometimes large datasets take a little longer to refresh, and a few advanced customization options require more technical knowledge. Adding more built-in visualization styles would also make dashboard creation even easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jacqueline Cordell of Sisense

"Flexible yet Lacks Specific Report Control"
What do you like best about Sisense?

I appreciate the flexibility Sisense provides by allowing me to incorporate JavaScript at both the dashboard and widget level. This feature gives me more control over how widgets interact with other elements on the dashboard. I also found the initial setup to be pretty easy. The user interface and pricing were factors that influenced our switch to Sisense from Looker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

There's no widget level control for sending reports - it sends data for all the widgets on a dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for simple visuals, and can be expanded with eCube customizations. Limitations on the user-facing formulas can be a problem."
What do you like best about Sisense?

The UI is more of a common style at this point. Speed is good initially, but can be bogged down on larger datasets. the newer release has improved Excel export speed considerably, but the dashboards themselves can be slow to load. The plugin library has been expanded, though we have found many require coding - simple enough but many users are not capable of doing that for ad-hoc reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

The clear expectation of the developers is that report authors would be technical resources with access to the eCube. User-facing report development UI still does not include formula logic for non-numeric results. No "Left(<string>, 5)" to get the beginning of a string; that would need to be done at the eCube level as a new reportable field.

Support for the Windows version of the software has lagged considerably, though new development on Linux continues. Some additions to the UI for formatting (like adding a checkbox for word wrap) has happened, but not extensively. Many text formatting options still require writing little widget scripts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Andrew Loomis of Sisense

Update 9/9/2025 - Sisense Intelligence now allows for natural language querying of any data model without the need to know SQL or underlying database structures. This makes dashboard design and ad-hoc querying easy for non-technical users. If you're interested in learning more, I've included a link to the functionality below.

"Pros and Cons of Sisense - TLDR"
What do you like best about Sisense?

There are a lot of plug in vendors with usefull stuff. Also, if you invest enough time figuring out the kinks of the javascript and workings of sisense you can develop some really cool features. The cube db system they use is good for a low code approach.

The costumer Support is usually quick and helpfull.

Integration with other systems is easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

I dislike the UI, it is not user friendly, building dashboards and preparing the exports requires quite a lot of time invested into the platform, it is really hard to have a ready to go product even with your own development on top of it.

Ease of use is definitely not a plus on sisense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Customization, Insightful Dashboards"
What do you like best about Sisense?

I find Sisense's ability to easily create dashboards and widgets to be a huge benefit. This feature allows me to slice and filter widgets to dive deeper into areas of interest for leadership. I particularly appreciate the drill down capabilities, as they are incredibly helpful in exploring data layers. The customization options, especially through dashboard and widget scripts, have made a significant impact on how our data is presented and highlighted. For instance, using widget scripts to tailor the look and feel of widgets ensures they meet specific visual requirements. Additionally, I created a dashboard script that effectively displays the date filter in the widget title for our embedded dashboards, which conveniently allows users to see the date range at a glance without having to scroll back. Overall, these features significantly enhance our ability to gain deeper insights from our data and have been vital in making our data visualization more effective and user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

I find the query builder in Sisense lacking in some areas, such as the ability to run multiple queries simultaneously. This limitation forces me to toggle between browser windows when I need to compare queries, which is inconvenient. It would be much more efficient if I could view comparison queries in the same window, similar to how SQL Server operates. Additionally, the error messages in the query builder can be too vague, especially when dealing with nested queries, making troubleshooting more difficult than it needs to be. These issues hinder my workflow and create unnecessary complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Turning Complex Data into Clear Decisions"
What do you like best about Sisense?

What I like best about Sisense is its ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights through powerful, user-friendly analytics. Sisense excels in integrating data from multiple sources, enabling users to create interactive, customizable dashboards without heavy reliance on IT. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

What some users might dislike about Sisense includes a few areas where the platform could improve:

Learning Curve: While Sisense is designed to be user-friendly, new users, especially those without a strong background in data analytics or BI tools, may find the initial setup and certain advanced features somewhat complex.

Pricing: Sisense can be relatively expensive compared to some other BI tools, especially for smaller businesses or teams with limited budgets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
