RoomSketcher Reviews & Product Details

There are a number of things I like about RoomSketcher, and I’ve already recommended it to a friend. In my experience, having tried similar products such as Architect Plan 7 and AutoCad, I find that as a non-technical person RoomSketcher is simple and uncomplicated to use and navigate; it does what it says on the tin. I was able to generate a floor plan for a client quite easily and without too much trouble, and when I was unsure about anything I used the training videos, which are excellent. I also had a 30-minute free session with a member of the RoomSketch team, who was very helpful in answering a few questions I had, and I learned that I could request a similar session at any time. While the other products I tried have their place, I wanted something straightforward that meets my needs for uncomplicated floor plans and 3D images to meet client needs. The fact that this is an online product there was no complicated instructions for its implementation. I simply signed up for an account and now use it every day as part of my work. There are a few things that RoomSketcher doesn't do, but these are not shower stoppers, more small developmental matters, which I believe my trainer took a note of and if it wasn't available the trainer showed me, where applicable, a 'work around'. Examples included

being able to group all the lines and room layouts together.

being able to show all measurements, i.e the distances of an outside wall to the start of a window without doing this manually.

The fact that you could not upload your own images of floors or wallpaper sample which would be client specific. You can however, match paint colours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's a fairly intuitive software and can be useful in sharing and collaborating with clients on ideas. I had issues with the sharing feature and the customer service team helped resolve it in about one business day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The inability to view the 3D models on a mobile device is a definite down side. Some of the "snap in place" movement that the platform does when moving components around a model don't "snap" to where you'd actually want something, which then takes a lot more time to find a work around to place things where you actually want them. I also don't care for the credit system of sharing models. After paying the annual fee you have to pay more to be able to share models. Everyone HATES to be nickel and dimed. Every CAD tool has a learning curve. I found Roomsketcher to be very easy to learn and the online resources help solve most questions/issues I had. A had a couple of questions I needed help with and the Roomsketcher customer team did an excellent job resolving those questions. Every tool has flat spots. The thing I dislike the most is that some of the level properties are not persistent between sessions or even switching from one level to another within a project. Minor nit but annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

it is an amazing program: In less than a week I am now able to create a 3d floor plans and to create super amazing renderings. The customer support is very helpful and you can enter in contact with them by emails if you need to solve a problem while creating a project. They are super reactive! Up to now everything seems to be ok...Maybe the only this I would change is the the monthly credits for pro users expire but it is not a big deal Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It doesn't take long to create a professional-looking 3D floorplan. Their customer support has been perfect!! Their new AI tools are making it even quicker to get my job done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It would be nice to be able to copy multiple pieces of furniture & paste. It would also be nice to have an alignment tool when trying to organize multiple pieces of furniture in a straight line & spaced equally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Limited customization. For example, customers love seeing handles on their kitchen cabinets, and unless I manually place a block on each door, that isn’t an option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

RoomSketcher is easy to use. I jumped right in without watching any training videos and was do more than expected. My luck ran out and I needed help so I wanted the very easy to follow tutorials and was able to produce a floorplan for a client in 20 mins. In the client's words, "You did more for free in 30mins than the £100 an hour Architect's Technical Team managed to do in a week". I opted for the Pro version - this paid for itself in a day. I managed to land a client for life!

The customer service is excellent. I raised an issue and it was given the correct care and attention.

The training sessions are free, regular, exceptionally helpful and professionally presented.

he credits system should have been made clearer to me at the start. From my perspective, if you are paying a certain price as an SME business, then the functionality should be congruous.

Often, an amended choice of materials selected for the flooring or room cladding will revert to the default choice.

You can't copy furniture groupings i.e. if you have 60 sets of tables and chairs to include for a conference, you have to insert these individually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is very user friendly. I watched the YouTube video tutorials and that made it very quick to learn the program. I enjoy that I can share my projects with clients and they have the ability to walk through the space in 3D. I love that I can upload a hand drawn or printed floor plan and it helps me to draw to scale and copy exact shape and window and door placements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I work in a cabinet shop, and on my first rendering, found the "best fit" option does not work, as the cabinets have to be their set sizes so that the doors etc line up well and show well on 3d pics.
