I love the ability to import a PDF floor plan and then put the x & y scale onto it quickly. The feature where it automatically counts the items as we click is also great. The initial setup was pretty easy. **What do you dislike about PlanSwift?** It takes a long time to open if you keep too many files in one folder. Recommend setting up one folder per year. This Software has made my life so easy, and I have said goodbye to the calculator and hand calculation that was so time-consuming, and handling drawings was also not an easy task. I have used a lot of programs and I like this by far the best. But if i had to choose I would say the slowness of converting items over to the excel documents. This data then lets me quote a project, then plan for the project and complete the project. This allows me to make less mistakes while installing a project and get things done faster. This keeps us on track and on budget over the course of the entire project, start to finish. **What do you dislike about PlanSwift?** There are a lot of things that can be done on Plan swift. I feel like a need a proper training so I can get the most use out of it. I will have to invest in that, to make sure I am getting the most out of it. Other than that, it is very good and we like to use it a lot. **Recommendations to others considering PlanSwift:** Try everything and see how it works for you. Then after you get used to it, get some training with it to help you even more. There are a lot of great features you will find over time or with help. I often pull dozens of drawings from a bidset, and it can be difficult to keep them all on track. Folders, subfolders, renaming, easy moving/deleting is all helpful. A small bonus as well--a wide range of colors to keep my takeoff easy on the eyes. Hot pink is useful to no one. The cloud integration for our business network is great too, I can easily pull up information from other estimators if I need to. **What do you dislike about PlanSwift?** It may just be my company/computer, but opening any archived jobs takes such a long time--perhaps because I have a lot of jobs stored. Also, sometimes Planswift randomly decides I don't have a license to use it and I have to reenter my company's information. Small, but annoying. It did require a bit of a learning curve, but if you're already familiar with construction software (I was), it's not too difficult to pick up. **Recommendations to others considering PlanSwift:** Keep in mind this does have a bit of a learning curve--can't speak for everyone, but it did take me a bit of getting used to. It has the nice feature of overlaying different versions of drawings, so very helpful for additional addendums that may have changed things. **What problems is PlanSwift solving and how is that benefiting you?** Without Plansiwft, I wouldn't be able to do takeoffs for my quotes. It easily exports to an excel spreadsheet to integrate with Corecon, our other main software. This keeps everything in one spot without putting our info through too many steps. ### 16. Can not get multiple takeoff quantities from one takeoff measurement (ex. calculate LF of sidewalk and CY of concrete for sidewalks with only one takeoff entry). I also like the way i can add my take off quantities to my sheet to be able to print out and add to my bid package. The ability to work on the files from home or work by switching the user licence back and forth. Planswift is also able to easily verify the scale of the drawings by utilizing the existing measurements on the plans. **What do you dislike about PlanSwift?** Learning curve on this software is long. Also collaboration between users can be a pain. I would need to email my file to another user and sometimes the files would be sent missing items or not even sent. The cost per user is also a little steep. Planswift can better utilize collaboration between users. If they could provide access to a cloud version for multiple users can work on the same set of plans at the same time. **Recommendations to others considering PlanSwift:** Planswift is a an easy to learn functional estimating software. The ability to load single pages and then name them is a key function that other estimating software leaves out. The value in this software is the ability to learn the system, tricks and functions. Youtube is a great resource for learning tips. **What problems is PlanSwift solving and how is that benefiting you?** i am able to verify sub contractor take offs and determine if items or quantities are missing. I am also able to publish my take offs to our bidding software and allow my sub contractors to review as well. ### 21. Easily creates digital takeoffs and stores values that can be easily transferred into other programs like Microsoft Excel or Word. **What do you dislike about PlanSwift?** Planswift has an estimate and proposal options but both required extensive work and work arounds. I found it easier to use Microsoft Excel and Word to create estimates and proposals after getting quantities from Planswift. The estimating, templates and reports functions could use some improvement to make them more user friendly. Also I was never able to print takeoffs with takeoff quantities to PDFs to make them more accessible. **Recommendations to others considering PlanSwift:** If you are looking for a cheap and easy to use takeoff software, definitely look into Planswift. Other more expensive options like On Screen Takeoff and Quickbid are industry standards at the moment but almost 10x the price. **What problems is PlanSwift solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planswift was a cheaper option for us when we wanted to digitize takeoff for construction plans. The benefits are amazing compared to paper takeoffs. Quantities are easily totaled and stored, and can be sent into other programs like Excel for further use. ### 23. I want to be able to set my assemblies per stage in my project.
