I cannot elaborate on integrations with other products except for Excel. Excel exports are good to work with. This is a real game changer. The implementation process is easy from the solutions point of view: there is a multi-step process, very well documented and accompanied by the seller of the software. One of the best features is the automatic, AI based process of children recognition in the pictures taken. We are required to document the development of the children with pictures and the manual process to maintain the pictures according to GDPR regulations was a real time-killer. At the moment we are roughly using 50 - 60 % of the full capabilities of the solution (as process implementation in an educational environment is taking time...) and we are already saving money factor 1:2, meaning on an FTE basis we would pay 2 times as much for FTEs than what we pay for the software. There is a customizable interface for each role working with nemborn that makes it easy to implement a distributed workload and as such mask it easy to eliminate single points of failure or bottlenecks. The whole suite is a cloud SAAS and we are very happy with it's performance and are often surprised about how fast changes that we suggest can be integrated into the software. :-) **What do you dislike about nemborn?** Sometimes the GUI misses the simplicity of a normal browser based experience. You work in one dialog, need to check something on the previous screen, but when you jump back, you are back to square 1. This takes a while to get used to, but that is pretty much the only thing that I think is worth mentioning. **What problems is nemborn solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a parent-founded non-profit organization, we are dependent on what we are being given by the state. At the same time, buerocrazy ;-) is getting worse and worse, the workload on the employees higher and higher. Nemborn is helping us to ease up a lot of these pressures and after a starting effort during the beginning of the implementation, we are now beginning to feel the benfits as there is more time left to work with the children instead of getting more and more involved with managing the organization. ### 2. We use all core Nembørn functions on a daily basis. Occupancy and enrolment management is a key part of our work, including contract mangement, placement of children - short‑ and long‑term group planning as well as the invoicing funconality. Nembørn gives us a clear long‑term overview of capacity and activity, which is essential for operational and strategic planning. The LGH Teacher App is central to our pedagogical work. It allows us to track daily notes, attendance lists, and manage multiple digital forms such as familiarisation documents, incident reports, observations, and development reports. Communication with parents is easy via the chat function and works very well for everyday organisational topics (e.g. nappies, food schedules, short updates). The internal language support for our three working languages (German, English, French) is extremely practical. We also use the LGH Photo App, which ensures secure handling of children’s photos and videos in full compliance with data protection regulations. It provides a safe, trusted environment for storing and sharing media with families. For employees, we use the LGH@Work App, where staff can consult work schedules, request vacations and absences, upload medical certificates, and manage other HR‑related topics. We additionally rely on Nembørn for workforce planning, overtime tracking, worktime reports, absence registration, and recruitment via the candidate journey board, where external candidates can directly apply for open positions. The biggest upside of Nembørn is that it centralises all childcare, HR, communication, and planning processes into one coherent platform. It reduces administrative workload, supports long‑term planning and transparency, and ensures secure, professional communication with both families and employees - making daily operations significantly more efficient and structured. **What do you dislike about nemborn?** Because Nembørn is a very comprehensive platform covering many areas (pedagogy, occupancy, HR, communication, finance, and recruitment), the main challenge is the initial complexity. New users typically need some onboarding time to fully understand all features and workflows, especially when using the system across multiple apps (Teacher App, Photo App, LGH@Work, admin modules). Some processes also require clear internal guidance and standards. To use the system efficiently, teams need alignment on how documentation, forms, and communication are handled; otherwise, functionality can feel overwhelming at first. The biggest downside is that Nembørn is not a “lightweight” solution. Organisations that only need one or two functions may find the platform more extensive than necessary. You really see the value when using the full ecosystem. Additionally, because the system is highly structured and compliance‑focused, certain workflows can feel less flexible than manual or ad‑hoc tools, especially when quick changes are needed. Customisation sometimes requires coordination rather than instant adjustments. Families can register on the website, and then all the data is immediately available to us, which allows us to quickly arrange viewing appointments with the families. The entire contract processing also works very quickly. Additionally, I appreciate that Nemborn provides a central place where all employees can work well, as we have 8 houses in Munich. The processes are more structured and it really saves time. **What do you dislike about nemborn?** So off the top of my head, I can't think of any major problems. It's more like smaller ones where you might wish for a bit more flexibility, for example when it comes to independently changing functions in the system, although we are aware that the big advantage is that a lot is automated. And of course, the more automation there is, the less manual flexibility you have. But I would probably wish for a bit more, so that you don't always have to contact support for every sometimes rather small problem, but rather have the possibility to help yourself. **What problems is nemborn solving and how is that benefiting you?** Nemborn facilitates work by digitizing processes and allowing us to generate statistics faster.
