The other most impressive thing about HeySummit is its customer support. As a complete noob at doing a virtual summit, I was a fountain of questions. Not only did they answer all of them, they did so pleasantly, professionally, and effectively. (Added after completing review: The review form asked about AI. I did not see any AI features, and would not have used them if they were there. So, don’t let the low AI scores impact your opinion of HeySummit; the lack of them, for me, was a feature. 😉) **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** I cannot think of a downside, frankly. The challenge of using HeySummit is the challenge of putting on a successful virtual summit: ALL the details, all the project threads, all the steps involved. The templated emails were very helpful, a feature that was one of my determining factors for using the software. The software was easy to use, however, because of the amount of work I had to do, I decided to hire Kris Broholm (recommenced by Ben from HeySummit) to help me, and he was awesome! Jerica from HeySummit support was also very responsive and helpful. With Kris and the HeySummit Software my event was a big hit. **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** Nothing. if there was anything I thought it needed, the team at HeySummit were very receptive to hearing ideas. **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** HeySummit solved a number of challenges when I was crafting my virtual summit. It made organizing a very large event with many speakers manageable. Instead of cobbling things together in WordPress, HeySummit's tools let me set everything up in one place. This was a huge timesaver for me. It's also a proven solution, having been used by others successfully for years now. HeySummit also made the event more accessible to a wider audience. Since it's all online, people from anywhere could join without having to travel. This meant more people could learn from our speakers and participate in the summit. My decision to hire Kris Broholm was a game-changer, as his expertise saved a ton of time for me. ### 5. The clean and fresh dashboard design makes setting up events a breeze. The platform continues to be actively developed and updated. The developers are very open to suggestions that have helped improve it beyond my expectations. Top that off with an absolutely stellar and highly responsive support team that leaves me feeling like they have my back, which is especially important when the event has gone live. **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** While there have been advancements to the page layout builder, right now it's primarily limited to the landing page. The ability to customize the other pages similarly would be great too. That said, the Theme Editor, Custom CSS options, and Translation Tool make up for what I am sure is a temporary limitation and they recently rolled out the ability to embed the registration on your site if you already have a website for your event (I have not tried it out yet though). **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** While it first debuted as a Virtual Event platform, Hey Summit has made some serious advancements as an in-person event and ticketing solution as well, making it an all-in-one solution for me. It. doesn't matter if I just need to host a virtual event, an in-person event, or a hybrid one, it has me covered. In my most recent event, I needed a hybrid solution. Eventually, we landed on HeySummit which has been an amazing platform that has not only helped us increase our lead generation to 10,000+ (per event that we run), but also helped us increase the revenue we earn. That platform has various different features and integrations that enabled us to increase our conversion rate optimization. The user experience is fantastic. When it says they have everything you need for an event they literally mean EVERYTHING. The setup is simple and there are a ton of integrations. Everything from the page builder to the actual event layouts make it a fully complete solution. It's also nice that there's an onboarding call and group calls to assist you with anything you need. **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** Minor detail but you can use stripe or paypal as your payment processor but not both at the same time. You can only select one of the two gateways. It would be nice if the user was given the option. **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem HeySummit solved was streamlining the event process. For anyone who has planned an event before you know how many components there are to bring it to life. HeySummit has all of them. From landing page builders to affiliate tickets to give aways to the actual event (even in person events). Set up was surpisingly fast and easy. ### 8. It also can be useful for hosting webinars too. Support is responsive via live chat. I've suggested a few features and they have actually said "That's a great idea" and implemented them within a week. Awesome service. **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** No major issues. On occasion I've found some missing functionality that would be helpful - but - then they've said "That's a great idea" and either implemented it in a week, or added it to their roadmap. **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** HeySummit helps us manage, host, and stream virtual summits and webinars with >10k registrants per event. Doing events of this size can be a lot to manage. Other virtual summit and webinar platforms either: 1) don't have the functionality for hosting a virtual summit with multiple sessions in a day with a simple interface for registrants; or 2) are unnecesarily complicated and expensive. HeySummit is an easy-to-use, cost-effective platform that has tons of functionality. We found it was so effective of a platform that we ditched Zoom Webinars entirely and now host all of our webinars on HeySummit. ### 9. This is huge; a software product rarely designs solutions for all of the 'headaches' and 'jobs' that everyone must do in a virtual event. **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** HeySummit is still a fairly young platform, and while updates are consistent and frequent, there are still 'nice-to-have' features that are warranted. The good news is they are rapidly deploying these features and listening to customer feedback. **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Most virtual event solutions are either a) bulky, not intuitive, full of features and bloat but clunky to use b) built only for enterprise customers and therefore running at many thousands of dollars a month c) missing key features i.e. only really being a slightly glorified webinar platform or d) all of the above. HeySummit isn't these things; Hey Summit's real appeal is that it hits a sweetspot of usability, key features but it's been built in a way that puts everyone's experience first. It genuinely is built in a way to simplify the process of putting together, running and marketing an event and helping to save a tonne of time in the process. ### 10. Lastly, they are serious about listening to their customers. **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** HeySummit can send out a lot of emails to registrants with the default settings, fortunately it is easy to selectively turn off the emails you do not wish to send. **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** An online summit has a lot of moving parts: registration/ticket sales, upsells, event landing page, speaker management, sponsor management, agenda management, streaming or video management, support and post-event follow up. I am an author and teacher and when Covid struck, I moved all of my in-person training programs online. I became obsessed with finding the best platform to deliver my classes and work with students online in the most powerful and effective ways. And, during this time, my wife was attending a number of online conferences. Through her and is many emails I was receiving from various professional organizations, I kept hearing the term "Virtual Summits". I became intensely curious and out of my research, it was very clear that a virtual summit was an incredibly powerful way to deliver great content to a much wider audience than one can reach alone, as you have a built-in marketing machine from the cooperative efforts of the "speakers" at your event promoting the summit to their audiences. So, I started to look for a Virtual Summit Platform to produce my first event. I discovered that there are many platforms! I had certain requirements both in technical aspects and in budget. Some of the platforms were either too confusing to use, did not have all the technical capabilities I wanted and some were just crazy expensive and geared more toward big corporations. I wanted a platform that had great flexibility in how I could deliver the actual speaker sessions, (live, pre-recorded as live, etc) in email capabilities, in having sponsors and in the design of the Summit site. I also needed to know that the experience for the attendees would be seamless and that they would enjoy the speaker sessions when they attended. Also, I wanted a platform where I could sell different kinds of tickets for the events and connect the ticketing to my Stripe account and easily sell "total access" type tickets for the replays after the actual event has ended. In other words, have the event continue to live online as an "evergreen" event and gain ongoing promotion for my online courses, for the products of the other speakers and for the sponsors. So, after much testing and creating "test summits" on as many platforms as I could manage to get my hands on, it became absolutely clear to me that the only one that fulfilled everything I was looking for was HeySummit. That's when I purchased my subscription to the HeySummit platform and I am currently in the planning stages for my first two events. One more very big key for me! The founder of the company and the support team and the development team! I had the opportunity to talk with the founder of HeySummit and he was so generous to share with me the vision of the company and where it is headed and its commitment to excellence with the HeySummit platform. And I have found all of his words to be true with the way I see the platform growing and improving even in just the time I have been a subscriber. And the support team! They are incredibly responsive and thoughtful and really care about my questions and technical needs! This is huge for me and it has been a great confirmation that I chose the best possible platform for my events. I can count on them! And the development team too! So responsive and excellent. Here is a simple but profoundly important example. I must be able to post links for my speakers so that attendees can find their products and services after the event, and HeySummit has many ways to do this. In almost every way to include links inside HeySummit, when the person clicks the link, a new browser window will open. But I discovered just one place, inside the "speaker bio" that gave me the ability to hyperlink some text, but when it gets clicked on, it takes the person out of the summit site. So I emailed the support team and asked if they could change this so that when the hyperlinked text was clicked on, it would open a new browser window and the person would still have the Summit site open. Very quickly, the support team replied and told me they would give my note to the development team and then, very quickly, the development team added this as a new feature. GREAT! And when I went back and checked my hyperlinks on the bios, they all worked and they opened a new browser window so that I never left the summit. WOW! I know this may seem like. small detail but it is HUGE to me, that I can count on the team at HeySUmmit to be so responsive and to care so much for all of the small details that ultimately help me produce a successful virtual summit. **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** Truly, there is nothing that I dislike. If there was, I would still be testing other platforms. **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Simply, HeySummit is giving me the ability to produce the most effective and beautiful and technically excellent virtual summit. ### 16. Fairly easy to get set up once you figure it out. The learning curve was not terribly steep. **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** If you are not careful in the email selection settings your attendees could get innodated with emails and get frustrated. If your speakers are all on different days it might be useful, but when they are back to back, the emails' sequence is too much. **Recommendations to others considering HeySummit:** We were able to use HeySummit in a very short turnaround with limited tech help. It is fairly intuitive but does take some time to get it all setup and figure what you are doing. If you have tech help and knowledge, I am sure it would be quicker and easier. It is great that everything is all on one platform and then the replay of live portions are there for people later. Easy to download CSV files to add attendees to your CRM. **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Coordinating an event, marketing the event and then holding the event. We did our first Hey Summit event as a live training event and fundraiser. ### 18. So far, there's no exhibit area in HeySummit. Turn-key Solution that plugs into your existing Tech Stack **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Rhett O. | Demand Programs Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2021 **What do you like best about HeySummit?** 1. plugs into my current tech stack for a turn key solution (ie, GoToWebinar, Zoom, Payment Processing, Video streaming) 2. modern and simple experience to navigate as a host and or attendee 3. the product roadmap is open to the public, highly innovative, and continue to push great enhancements **What do you dislike about HeySummit?** 1. the bank transfers took awhile to understand and in the end we still saw unexpected fees which made us wish we increased our ticket price 2. reporting and analytics need more development; although they have a good amount of data, it's spread across multiple reports that live in different places s would like to see them combined into one data set. **What problems is HeySummit solving and how is that benefiting you?** HeySummit is an online event 'container' that gives you the fundamentals of hosting an event and enabling you to build out within your existing tech stack or purchase complimentary applications to get exactly what you need. You're not stuck in their one world; you have an open API network to plug into anything really. This helps us significantly reduce costs (#CheapAsChips), self-serve without the need for support or an Account manager, and provides a unified, seamless experiences from consideration to attendance. ### 22.
