Recommendations to others considering Berrycast:
As a long-long-long time user of Camtasia, I was a little skeptical of grabbing Berrycast. However, I picked it up due to a very attractive multi-user license offer. Basically, I planned to give this to our team members and fully expected to stick with the tried and true Camtasia.
After trialling the software, I realised it fits a very different niche. Unlike Camtasia, it is ideal for quick, on-the-fly recording of tech support, training sessions, team meetings, and whatever else you are working on when you suddenly think: "Hey, other people could use this info in future." Starting a recording takes just two clicks: the first to activate the recorder, the second to select the screen / area you wish to record. Everything else happens automatically, including upload to cloud services for sharing.
Once I started using Berrycast, I realised what's I'd been missing.
I will still keep using Camtastia for it's brilliant post-video editing capabilities, but day-to-day recordings are all going into Berrycast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
