"Effortless Recording and Sharing for Educators"
What do you like best about Berrycast?

I find Berrycast really fast and easy to use, with the convenience of not having to log in thanks to the extension. I appreciate how it stores all my videos and allows me to easily share them with students or potential buyers. The ability for people to comment on videos is also useful. I like that it has a neat tab on my computer that makes recording straightforward. The editing features are quite helpful, letting me perform basic edits, pause recordings, and share my screen. I can use a highlighter and even draw or label text, which is great for teaching and customizing screen recordings. The initial setup was really easy too, which made getting started with Berrycast hassle-free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Berrycast?

I would love it to have a way for me to adjust the sizing of my face when I share myself during the recording. It has 2 sizes for the circle but newer software can make the sharer full screen, half screen and a variety of other sizes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Berrycast for taking notes"
What do you like best about Berrycast?

Ease of use. A great tool for meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Berrycast?

I use it to transcribe notes from the many meetings I attend. For a while it was great, it would transcribe all of my meetings. However, I received an email from their support team saying that the transcribe option has been disabled by default. I tried to turn it back on but the option is no longer available.

They said it was to save cost because people were not using it. What about the people who paid for it? I am disappointed. EDIT: Customer service got back to me and helped me get the transcribe option back up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Weak security over sensitive information & changed previous usage rights to cripple solution."
What do you like best about Berrycast?

Simple screen recording for Chrome, tho not without a few quirks and interface glitches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Berrycast?

I procured a ten-user LTD Berrycast license and was happy with the product. However, I did strongly recommend MFA to put into place. Given that this product records sensitive meetings and can capture screens, MFA is the absolute most basic level of security needed. Berrycast stated that would be deployed... as far as I know, it is know, over a year later, it is still not available. To make matters worse, BC turned on an 'AI note taking feature' without explaining the routes the AI feature takes. Upon probing this, I found (as suspected) they use Wisper (AWS) and OpenAI APIs, both of which means the audio recordings are passed to multiple third parties. In these cases, the vendor needs to make it clear what the contract terms are for data retention and use in model training with regards to the third-party services. They have not. In short, a very, very poor data security over one of the most sensitive data assets you have.

The final concern I have is that BC changed the terms of use for a licensing I previously paid for, limiting the product to no more than 20 hours of video storage. Previously, there was no limit. That renders the product useless for practical needs in training, bug reporting, etc. I do understand their need to set limits to avoid abuse, but the limit has crippled what was once a decent, if insecure, product. Moreover, it shows a company that has zero respect for it's client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Deceit and lock of business intelligence"
What do you like best about Berrycast?

I would like to begin by saying that I was one of the most satisfied and passionate Berrycast users that I know. I recommended this product day and night for years. I loved the simplicity of the tool. The reliability. The value. I loved the tool and it was one of the most important pieces of my daily workflow. But that all changed in a quick moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Berrycast?

There were times when it was unreliable. But mostly the unreliability and deceitfulness of the company leadership is what I dislike the most. I cannot recommend this tool at all anymore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Disappointing Experience Despite Lifetime Deal"
What do you like best about Berrycast?

Honestly, it's hard to pinpoint positives when the experience is overshadowed by numerous issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Berrycast?

Performance Issues: The platform is incredibly slow; video playback is consistently buffering despite my internet speed being a solid 25MBPS. This is particularly frustrating as other services stream flawlessly at this speed, which I've confirmed through multiple tests.

Mac Application Glitches: The Mac app for BerryCast is riddled with bugs, frequently becoming unresponsive. This disrupts my workflow and forces me to restart the application, wasting my time. Additionally, the lack of a webcam mirroring option is a considerable oversight for a service that's supposed to be about ease of video communication.

Web Interface Limitations: The web interface doesn't allow for bulk operations, which became evident when I attempted to delete 16 videos in one go. The process failed, leaving me to tediously delete videos one by one. This lack of basic functionality is unacceptable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Broken Promises and Lost Trust: A Cautionary Tale of Berrycast's Shift on Early Users"
What do you like best about Berrycast?

At this time, I do not find any value whatsoever in this company or those behind it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Berrycast?

I initially championed Berrycast, swayed by the lure of an impressive plan that seemed to offer so much potential. I didn't just use their product—I was an advocate for it, actively promoting it, pouring in my insights, and presenting use cases that helped them adjust and establish themselves in the market. But how does Berrycast repay its foundational user base? With restrictive policies that severely curtail the very features that made them attractive in the first place.

Consider the shock and disillusionment when, as a long-time user for 3+ years, you're hit with the news: your account is now limited to a total of an insignificant 20 hours of videos. What's more, you're given a mere two weeks to sort through your content, forced to decide what to keep and what to discard without an export tool provided. This isn't just inconvenient; it's a breach of trust and a total loss in my business for time and money.

The announcement about introducing storage caps and slashing seat allowances for the original founding members' accounts feels like a betrayal. It's not the imposition of limits itself that stings the most—it's the broken promises and the erosion of trust. The company portrays these changes as beneficial, suggesting they will somehow enhance our experience, but this is hardly convincing.

For those contemplating Berrycast, let this be a warning: no promotion is worth the potential erosion of trust and value that could occur overnight. Regrettably, my advice is to steer clear of Berrycast. Look for partners who value and respect your loyalty and commitment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Can't be trusted. They sold a lifetime deal and retracted"
What do you like best about Berrycast?

It was cheaper than Loom, so I enjoyed that fact. But now that they 're not cheaper, why would I choose them over Loom when Loom is tried tested and true? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Berrycast?

I was an early adopter and put up with many bugs, because of the fact that I was on a lifetime deal. That's the tradeoff, right? We're your bug testers are you get your feet off the ground. But you sold us a lifetime deal and took it away. Now, I put up with all those bugs for nothing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best app for quick videos"
What do you like best about Berrycast?

Berrycast is my go to app for recording videos. I use it to answer clients questions, to make instruction videos and much more. It has options to link and save mp4 videos and organize them in folders. In top of all that it does, they have great customer service and keep adding features. Strongly recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Berrycast?

Nothing yet. So far if they do not have the feature I need is usually because they are already about to make it available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
