Unlike any other workspace I have ever seen. Bring your ear buds; it gets noisy. But it has the best (and quirkiest) art gallery lining the hidden hallways. Be sure to roam; you never know what you’re going to find. **What do you dislike about 1871?** The bro culture. I disliked the who is who type vibe. It could be more open to ideas and innovators. **Recommendations to others considering 1871:** Do things to attract technical people. It can be a loud and disorganized place to work. Where post notes for mobile apps all over the place is a real distraction from actually building anything tech-related, so I think it is more of business development and product development space for people who like to talk and be in meetings. If you want to write some code, find a good coffee shop somewhere else. **What problems is 1871 solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solved the problem of a centrally located space where folks can come together to solve problems. ### 5. Both are technology solutions (SaaS). **What do you like best about 1871?** The collaborative nature of the space and the resources that are available i.e. help hours, workshops, relationships that I've curated through my membership there. **What do you dislike about 1871?** The leading dislike would be the expense. Office rent is pretty pricy for an established company. Some policies are starting to look akin to money grabs like exit charges, etc. **Recommendations to others considering 1871:** Do your due diligence, take a tour, and interact with the community as you deliberate. **What problems is 1871 solving and how is that benefiting you?** The missions of our startups; simplifying the process of managing an online store. 1871 helps with making sure the problems we encounter can be solved with their network. I often find every few minutes you see someone you know and either have a mini conversation or stop to give them a nod, which still pulls you away from your work. So, just something to be aware of. And I’m so easily distracted that it becomes a problem for me. The member benefits are not as worthwhile as you’d expect paying such a high price. **Recommendations to others considering 1871:** Like anything else, you get out what you put in.
