"A Lifesaver for HR Audit Trails, Though Reassigning Managers is a Headache"
5/5
What do you like best about 15Five?

I am a People Operations Manager managing the employee lifecycle of a growing organisation and my goal with 15Five is not just to generate feel-good engagement but to standardise our managerial cadence and create documented performance histories. I’m responsible for the administrative backend of the platform, running our quarterly review cycles, outlining our OKR structures and training new department leads on how to properly conduct and document their weekly 1-on-1s. It is our primary system of record for the ongoing conversation between individual contributors and their direct supervisors outside of our formal HRIS system. “15Five is a lifesaver in terms of manager accountability, from a strict HR compliance and employee relations perspective.” Over the years, my biggest headache has been department heads approaching me to put an employee on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) with absolutely no documented history of prior feedback or coaching. 15Five asks managers to include weekly check-ins and 1-on-1 agendas as part of the process, so it automatically creates a very detailed, chronological audit trail. “I can go back months of check-ins and easily see whether a manager was really setting clear expectations, or whether the performance issue is a surprise.” The weekly pulse checks are qualitative, which helps me to identify micro-trends in team morale before they become full attrition risks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 15Five?

The most frustrating administrative friction is the way the platform handles changes in the hierarchy of the organisation, especially when it concerns interim managers or parental leaves. When a department head leaves the company unexpectedly, or takes a three month maternity leave and you have to move their direct reports over to an interim manager, but you still want to be able to see their historical 1-on-1 notes and review cycles, that’s just so clunky. The system permissions seem to be very much tied to the manager-report relationship. My People Ops team has to do manual things such as download PDF exports of old conversations to the interim manager which is counterproductive to having a centralised dynamic platform and makes for a very disjointed experience when there are team transitions. "Essential for People Ops and Engagement, but Clunky Goal Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about 15Five?

I am a People Operations Lead in a growing mid-sized company that implemented 15Five to replace an antiquated annual review system using spreadsheets. Especially, I wanted to create an environment where feedback is continuous, not stressful and once a year. I use it every day to take an overall pulse check on company morale using pulse surveys, to run our quarterly performance review cycles, and to make sure that our managers are doing meaningful and documented 1-on-1s with their direct reports every two weeks. Within our HR team, 15Five is our central system of record for employee engagement, peer recognition and organizational alignment. I like the way that 15Five encourages employee engagement in a way that is natural, not a burden, and feels like a benefit. Our weekly check-in is a game-changer and allows our leadership team to get a live view of how our company is doing and any issues or roadblocks that can arise in our departments before they become a big problem. The 'High Fives' feature has also been a huge success for us and we are creating a culture of peers recognising each other, which we have been finding difficult to do in a hybrid working environment. It's easy to set up review cycles from an HR admin point of view. The automated nudges of the system save me many hours from pinging on email busy managers for on-time team evaluations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 15Five?

The engagement and review capabilities are superb, but the tracking module for Objectives and Key Results (OKR) seems a bit inflexible and awkward for us. The interface becomes confusing when dealing with the more complex, multi-departmental objectives and many of our team leads report that they must manually update their progress each month. Moreover, it isn't especially easy to administer, as the custom reporting features are a bit restricted. I often find myself needing to export specific historical engagement data for executive board meetings, but have to reformat the engagement data into a raw csv file and then create the charts myself, which is quite a bit of a pain for a pretty good platform. "Intuitive, Fast to Roll Out, and Backed by Exceptionally Responsive Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about 15Five?

The platform’s intuitiveness is its biggest strength. It feels natural for both our employees and the management team, which made the rollout across departments impressively smooth. Implementation was fast and didn’t require much heavy lifting from IT. I’ve worked it into my daily routine for check-ins and goal tracking, and customer support has been exceptionally responsive whenever we’ve run into a snag. The mix of features—from performance reviews to engagement surveys—offers a well-rounded toolkit without making the interface feel cluttered or overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 15Five?

Some features feel a bit restricted unless you’re willing to move up to a higher-tier plan. Although the core functionality is excellent, we’ve occasionally run into situations where an advanced customization or reporting option was locked behind a more expensive version. I think offering a little more flexibility—especially around custom field labels—at the standard level would go a long way toward making the tool feel better tailored to our unique internal workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Caitlin Ludke of 15Five

Hi Dollie, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us! We’re so glad to hear the platform has felt intuitive for both employees and managers, and that your rollout process was smooth and easy to implement across teams. It’s also great to know that features like check-ins, goal tracking, reviews, and engagement surveys have become part of your daily workflow without adding unnecessary complexity.

We also appreciate your honest feedback around pricing tiers and customization flexibility. We understand how important it is for teams to tailor workflows and reporting to fit their organization’s unique needs and we’ll be sure to share this with our product team as we continue improving the experience across plans.

Thanks again for being a 15Five partner!

"15Five Makes Performance Conversations Human and Keeps Goals Aligned"
5/5
What do you like best about 15Five?

I really appreciate how 15Five strips away the usual corporate heaviness from performance management, so conversations feel genuinely human and straightforward. Having our weekly check-ins, OKRs, and recognition all centralized in one dashboard has been a huge time-saver. It helps keep the whole team aligned around our high-level goals, without the process turning into a tedious HR compliance exercise that just ticks boxes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 15Five?

The initial setup can feel pretty overwhelming without proper onboarding, especially because nearly all features are enabled by default. For a fast-moving team trying to stay lean, that makes the platform feel unnecessarily process-heavy right from the start. I would have preferred a more phased rollout, where we could activate features gradually and only when we were ready to use them effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Caitlin Ludke of 15Five

Hi Alfred, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with 15Five. We’re so glad to hear the platform has helped create a more approachable and meaningful performance management experience for your team. It’s especially great to know that having check-ins, goals, and recognition in one place has helped keep everyone aligned without adding unnecessary complexity or administrative overhead.

We also appreciate your thoughtful feedback around onboarding and feature rollout. We understand how enabling a wide range of functionality upfront can feel overwhelming for teams that are trying to stay agile and focused. Your suggestion around a more phased, gradual activation experience is incredibly valuable, and we’ll be sure to share this with our product and onboarding teams as we continue working to make implementation feel more intuitive and tailored to each organization’s pace and needs.

Thanks again for the feedback and for being a part of the 15Five community!

"15Five Keeps Goal Tracking and Team Updates Lightweight and Visible"
5/5
What do you like best about 15Five?

I really appreciate how 15Five provides a consistent, lightweight framework for sharing updates and tracking our progress toward quarterly goals. It keeps the communication loop open and moving without the process feeling heavy or time-consuming. It’s also been a great way to maintain visibility into what the rest of the team is working on, without having to schedule constant sync meetings that would otherwise interrupt our actual work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 15Five?

While the system is efficient overall, some of the recurring check-in questions start to feel repetitive after several months of use. I’d really appreciate more variety, or an option to automatically rotate through different prompts, so the reflection process stays fresh and engaging. Without that added customization, the check-in can sometimes come across as a routine chore instead of a thoughtful opportunity for growth and genuine team connection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Caitlin Ludke of 15Five

Hi Donn, thank you for taking the time to review 15Five! We’re so glad to hear the platform has helped create a more seamless way for your team to stay aligned and connected without adding extra overhead to the workday. It’s especially great to hear that the visibility across teams has helped reduce the need for constant sync meetings while still keeping communication flowing.

We also really appreciate your perspective on the check-in experience over time. Keeping reflections meaningful and engaging is incredibly important, and your feedback around adding more variety and customization to recurring prompts is valuable. We’ll be sure to share this with our product team!

I also wanted to let you know that we offer the option to rotate check-in questions using the question bank. You may need to coordinate setting this up with your 15Five Admin, but we are also always here to help. I am including a few articles below that you may find helpful:

"Weekly Check-Ins and 1:1 Agendas Transformed Our Meeting Culture"
4.5/5
What do you like best about 15Five?

The weekly check in and the 1 on 1 agenda tools have truly transformed our meeting culture. Both managers and employees arrive irritated with a clear outline, which keep our conversation focused and much more productive than they were previously. In also really value the real time recognition features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 15Five?

The reporting suite has a bit of a learning curve, and it can take some time for new users to figure out exactly where the deep-dive analytics are located. While the data is high quality, the navigation within the reporting tab could be more intuitive. I also believe the platform could benefit from more flexible customisation options for the internal engagement surveys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Caitlin Ludke of 15Five

Hi Myron, thanks for sharing your feedback on 15Five! It’s great to hear that your team’s meetings have become more focused and productive, and that the platform is helping create better structure and recognition in your day-to-day work.

We also appreciate your thoughts on areas we can improve. We understand how important it is for a tool to be user-friendly and easy to navigate, and that's the experience we aim to provide our users. Customization is also top of mind as we know that flexibility and being able to tailor reporting to meet your team's needs is extremely valuable. We will be sure to share this with our product team as we continue to iterate on the 15Five experience.

"Robust Continuous Culture Insights with Some Administrative Friction"
4.5/5
What do you like best about 15Five?

I log into 15Five first thing every morning to check our company-wide Pulse Ratings and monitor real-time employee sentiment trends across our various departments. My typical daily workflow involves analyzing these engagement scores so I can proactively sync with department leaders before minor team friction turns into a larger retention risk. The Best-Self Review module has completely transformed how we run our semi-annual performance cycles, making it incredibly simple to track self-assessments and manage 360-degree review calibrations in one clean space. On the technical side, the platform utilizes a robust REST API that automates user provisioning and data syncing directly through our BambooHR integration. This background automation ensures that whenever our core employee database updates, reporting lines and active profiles adjust instantly without requiring any manual spreadsheet uploads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 15Five?

My primary frustration happens when the executive board requests an urgent workforce analytics summary right before a strategic meeting, and the reporting filters experience heavy lag. Staring at a spinning loading wheel while attempting to export aggregate High Fives data and engagement metrics across multiple sub-teams under an intense time crunch is deeply stressful. Additionally, managing administrative permissions for matrix reporting structures or cross-functional project teams feels unnecessarily clunky. Trying to grant a temporary dotted-line project manager visibility into specific weekly Check-ins requires too many manual overrides and custom workarounds. The platform’s automated notification system can also be a bit rigid, occasionally sending automated participation reminders to employees who are currently out on approved medical or parental leave unless an admin manually pauses their accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Caitlin Ludke of 15Five

Hi Anashika, thanks for taking the time to review 15Five!

We also appreciate your candid feedback on the platform. We understand how frustrating reporting lag can be when you're working against a deadline, and we hear your feedback around administrative permissions for matrix organizations and notification flexibility for employees on leave. These are valuable insights, and we'll be sure to share them with our Product team as we continue improving the platform.

"Revolutionized Our Team Performance Tracking with 15Five!"
5/5
What do you like best about 15Five?

I use 15Five in my organization for goal setting, reviewing, and tracking the performance of my team members. 15Five has really helped streamline getting weekly updates from my team, which was previously a bottleneck. I can easily set up one-on-one discussions, which gives me visibility into my team's progress. One of the best parts that I like about 15Five is monitoring my team's engagement with the pulse survey. It's very innovative and easy to use. I share feedback with each team member through pulse surveys, and it doesn't feel like a burden to participate, so almost every team member joins in, making the performance management process more effective. I've heard the setup was easy, and the customer service team is very responsive and knowledgeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 15Five?

I feel it would be better if the application allows more customizations in the pulse surveys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Caitlin Ludke of 15Five

Hi Ganesh, thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. It’s great to hear how 15Five is helping you streamline weekly updates, run more effective 1:1s, and stay closely connected to your team’s engagement. Creating that kind of visibility without adding extra burden is exactly what we aim for, so it’s really meaningful to hear that your team is actively participating and finding value in the pulse surveys.

We also appreciate your feedback on offering more customization within the platform. We know how important it is for teams to tailor surveys to their unique needs, and that’s something we’re continuing to explore. We'll be sure to pass this feedback along to our product team.

Thanks again for your review!
