# Which bot platforms support a smooth handoff to a human agent while maintaining the conversation context that came before?

Digging into bot platforms again, this time on the handoff-with-context problem specifically. It's a close cousin of the plain bot-to-human question, but the emphasis here is on the agent inheriting the full back-and-forth, not just a transcript dump. Here's what reviewers say about a few that handle it.

yellow.ai pairs agent handoff with NLP that tracks what the customer asked. Did the context carry cleanly for you, or did agents still get a bare transcript?

Rulai has context awareness that lets a conversation pause and resume without confusing the bot, which should help at handoff. Has anyone tested how much of it the human actually receives?

WotNot gets described as reliable to configure for live chat and human handoff. Did the switch feel smooth to the customer, or noticeable?

IBM watsonx Orchestrate is built around multi-agent orchestration and 100-plus enterprise integrations. For anyone on it, does context follow the customer across those connected systems?

When you evaluated these, did you actually simulate a mid-conversation handoff to see what the agent inherited? I'm curious how many of them pass real context versus just a chat log.

Rulai's context awareness was the thing that sold us. The ability to pause and resume without losing the thread means our agents aren't flying blind when they take over. The handoff feels like a relay, not a restart.

The distinction between a full context handoff and a transcript dump is exactly the right question. I've seen agents open conversations having to re-ask things the customer already answered, which kills the experience faster than if there had been no bot at all.

Yes, we ran a live simulation before signing off on our tool. What we found was that what the agent received depended entirely on which trigger we used to initiate handoff. The same platform gave us clean context through one route and almost nothing through another, so testing that specifically is worth the time.

The NLP tracking yellow.ai does during the conversation doesn't always survive the handoff intact. Good bot experience, the transition is where it gets inconsistent.
