# What PSA tools cover project management, time tracking and billing well enough for an IT services or managed services firm?

I've been pulling together a roundup on professional services automation for the MSP and IT-services crowd, so I dug into what reviewers at IT and managed-services firms actually say about running project management, time tracking and billing in one system. If you just want the short version, Autotask, ConnectWise PSA and Syncro came up the most across those reviews, but here's the fuller set I looked at.

Autotask ties tickets, time, projects, contracts and billing together in one place, and MSP reviewers point to strong ticket-workflow customization, technician workload visibility and deep integrations with RMM, documentation and the Datto and Kaseya stack.

ConnectWise PSA gets described as a complete business-management platform for technology firms, with heavy automation and integrations into RMM, quoting, phone and accounting tools, though reviewers note the interface still feels dated and the learning curve is real.

Syncro combines RMM and PSA with a simple tabbed layout, unified client records covering contacts, billing history and tickets, and flat per-technician pricing, which reviewers running smaller shops appreciate.

SuperOps is an automation-first PSA and RMM with a clean interface, where one reviewer described billing that scales with revenue plus profitability figures per client and per billing line.

Accelo connects project management, time tracking, CRM and billing, and reviewers in IT services value the automatic time capture and real-time view of project status and budget, while flagging a steeper onboarding.

For anyone running one of these at an IT or managed-services firm, what's your experience been? How much configuration did it take before time tracking and billing felt trustworthy? And for the RMM-plus-PSA options, did keeping both in one tool actually reduce your admin, or did you still end up bolting on extras?

Autotask and ConnectWise are the two you'll hear about most in MSP circles and for good reason. Both do the job. ConnectWise has more horsepower but you'll spend the first two months just learning where everything lives.
