# What is the best payroll software for small businesses?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hey G2 users, I run a small team and somehow payroll is the one thing I don’t want to get wrong, but also don’t want to spend hours on every month. So I’ve been trying to figure out the best payroll software for small businesses that just works without constant checking.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I’ve been browsing a few options in<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/payroll"> </a><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/payroll"><strong>payroll</strong></a> tools, and these kept coming up in conversations and reviews:</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/gusto/reviews"><strong>Gusto</strong></a>  seems like what a lot of small teams start with because it’s simple and predictable</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/run-powered-by-adp/reviews"><strong>RUN Powered by ADP</strong></a>  feels like the “safe choice” when you just want reliability</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/justworks/reviews"><strong>Justworks</strong></a>  looks like it takes more responsibility off your plate, especially compliance</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/keka/reviews"><strong>Keka</strong></a>  mixes payroll with HR, which might reduce juggling tools</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/hrone/reviews"><strong>HROne</strong></a>  seems more structured if you want everything in one system</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I’m not trying to optimize payroll. I just want it to run and not think about it again. What actually made payroll feel “set and forget” for you?</p>
