# What DSAR tools keep privacy teams compliant across GDPR, CCPA, and newer state regulations?

Looking for input from privacy teams that operate across the EU (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), and the growing patchwork of US state privacy laws, which DSAR platforms track regulatory changes automatically and update workflows accordingly, rather than requiring the privacy team to manually interpret new requirements and reconfigure the tool each time a new state law takes effect?

The platforms with the strongest multi-regulation compliance evidence:

What was the first new state privacy law that your DSAR platform handled automatically without requiring manual reconfiguration — and was the update timely enough to be in place before the law's effective date, or did your team have to bridge the gap manually?

"Tracks regulatory changes automatically" probably covers two very different kinds of updates. A new deadline or a numeric threshold, say a state raising or lowering the revenue threshold that triggers coverage, is genuinely easy to push out fast, since it's just a date or number in a database. A change to what actually counts as a covered request or a covered consumer, which is where a lot of new state laws differ from each other in the fine print, requires the vendor's own legal team to interpret ambiguous statutory language before any workflow can be updated at all.

"Real-time" claims are probably accurate for the first kind and much slower for the second, since interpretation work doesn't automate the way a date field does. Worth asking a vendor for a specific example of each type of update they've actually shipped, not just how fast they say they move in general.
