# How do the top ecommerce platforms handle inventory syncing across your website, app and Amazon without things going out of stock mid-campaign?

Hey G2 users! I'm covering ecommerce platforms for a piece on multichannel retail operations and the question I keep getting from brands is: how do the top platforms handle inventory syncing across a website, app, and Amazon without things going out of stock mid-campaign? The oversell problem is one of those things that only surfaces at the worst possible moment, and the platform's architecture either handles it or it doesn't.

Here are the ones I'm comparing based on G2 reviews and what I've read:

Shopify: Reviewers described running their entire operation with Amazon and TikTok both feeding back to Shopify as the inventory source of truth. Compared it to WooCommerce where everything had to be done manually. How tight is the Amazon sync when multiple channels get simultaneous orders?

Shopify Plus: Multiple storefronts and channels from one backend, with bulk order routing and automation. How reliable is the inventory pool across channels during an actual campaign spike?

BigCommerce: Native marketplace integrations with Amazon, eBay, and social platforms without app dependency. Inventory managed centrally to reduce overselling. Does the native sync hold up or do you still end up needing a third-party connector?

WooCommerce: Full control and no transaction fees, but real-time multi-channel accuracy depends heavily on the plugin stack. For brands already on WordPress, what's the most reliable setup you've found?

Salesforce B2C Commerce: Comes up for enterprise retailers needing OMS and CRM tightly integrated with channel inventory. Overkill for most, but curious if anyone's using it specifically for the inventory orchestration layer.

Has your platform ever let you down mid-campaign? It would be really useful to know what happened and what fixed it.

Worth separating two mechanisms that both get called "sync": periodic reconciliation, where stock counts get squared up every few minutes, and actual reservation at order time. The mid-campaign oversell almost always lives in the gap. Two channels each sell the last unit inside the same sync window, and no amount of "central source of truth" fixes that because both orders were valid when placed. So the sharper question for any platform is what the sync interval looks like under load, not whether sync exists.
