The Stems format we provide across all of our tracks gives the editor control over the individual instruments in the track. This means that if the audio clashes with the video thats being worked on (for instance someone walks through the door and begins to speak just as the horns are coming in) then the horns can be muted and brought back in when appropriate. This control means you don't have to waste time listening through a whole track to make sure nothing is going to clash – as you would with alternative production music labels.

Stock music websites provide catalogs of royalty-free and/or purchasable audio-based media. Stock music can be used in marketing collateral and creative projects to add an auditory component to visual content. Many [stock photo websites](https://www.g2.com/categories/stock-photos) will also provide stock music and [stock footage](https://www.g2.com/categories/stock-footage) as well.

Stock music websites provide licenses for media use elsewhere. On sites where users are required to pay for stock music use, websites will either charge per track or a subscription fee. Some stock footage websites will offer royalty-free music in addition to their paid content, but other websites' stock music is completely free.

To qualify for inclusion in the Stock Music category, a product must:

- Provide licensable and/or royalty-free audio
- Store, curate, and categorize an audio catalog
- Allow users to bookmark and sort audio
