True Data Protection Demands More Than Just Regulation
I’ll let you in on a (poorly kept) secret: The use of advanced analytics and other AI-powered capabilities that help users manage and interrogate data isn't new. The practice has been around far longer than the current bubble of hype surrounding AI has been inflating.

Question on: Egnyte
I can't add MS office products
Hi Jackson, this is Merry from G2. Here's some information about Egnyte's integration with MS office. Hope this might give you a start. https://helpdesk.egnyte.com/hc/en-us/articles/218823337-Microsoft-Integration-with-Egnyte

Jackson, are you talking about adding the programs to Egnyte so that someone who has Egnyte can launch and run Word, Excel, or PowerPoint? If so then you can't do this.
Microsoft's installers install a lot of underlying software onto the local hard drive and that also includes licensing files that tell MS if the products are licensed or not.
IF you are talking about files, you can save any Microsoft office working document to Egnyte drive and other people can open that and use it. The problem is if you have two people working at the same time. At the time I was administering the product Microsoft Office had finally added collaboration tools to the suite where two people could be editing the same document at the same time. I believe that Egnyte now supports that process now. I know that Egnyte is working hard to make their system compatible with all of Microsoft's features.

Question on: Egnyte
Can there be an offline version of Egnyte?
An offline space where we can simply move our documents even when we are working offline and then it gets automatically synced and shared with the audience marked for the folder.

Yes. Egnyte offers offline sync and another modality where files only sync when you interact with them.
Hope this helps!

Check out the desktop sync Egnyte app. Make sure to be selective about which folders you sync.

Question on: Egnyte
How do I password protect a folder saved in Egnyte?
How do I password protect a folder saved in Egnyte, or otherwise restrict access to a folder that should be kept private from other users in the company? Even my folders that are "private" to me are fully accessible to all company users.

Rights are assigned to folders. It really depends on WHAT egnyte product you have, and there are several.
Your admin should be able to answer/resolve this.
If you are using an NTFS package these rights are changed within your Active Directory and synced to egnyte.
It sounds as though the inherited rights for AD or Egnyte need adjustment. Login to your web product at egnyte dot com and choose a folder under "shared or private" and use the "share>folder permissions" to see what rights are assigned (this might be show both users and/or groups depending on what made sense for your admin at the time).

As a user, I can state that I am not sure that you can password protect the folder, but you can limit who you share it with. You can also send a "user only" link that cannot be forwarded without your permission to a third party user. Hope this helps.
