What stands out most about Cyera is how it handles scanning within data stores. Having used several Data Discovery tools, I found that Cyera’s on-premises discovery through Connectors was particularly smooth and trouble-free. In contrast, I’ve observed that other DSPM tools often cause servers to hang when their connectors or agents initiate the discovery process. At this point, there isn't much to note, as we are currently working on remediating our policies and are interested in learning more about the remediation features. I recently participated in the virtual customer connect forum, where I noticed some upcoming features that I am eager to try out. Cyera provides excellent visibility into sensitive data and access risks, requiring very little setup. I use Cyera for data discovery and classification with minimal impact on my business and data stewards. I really appreciate Cyera's accuracy in discovery and classification. The minimal false positives mean work remains meaningful and accurate, reducing unnecessary disruptions to our business users. Executive reporting is a challenge. It is good for technical leaders and Data Owners but reporting risk up to the Board or Sr. Leadership is a challenge because it doesn't take outside influences into account when making a risk statement. I find Cyera to be good and improving quickly, with the team rapidly deploying new features. The team is very supportive, helping us achieve the visibility and auditability we need. They feel like a partner, essentially. Additionally, the setup was very simple, probably the easiest part of the entire process. Finally, I appreciate Cyera's better out-of-the-box classifiers, which provide more accuracy compared to Microsoft's built-in ones, although they still require some tuning. I'm not sure this is common in Cyera specifically, but the entire DSPM product space or any DLP program, working with vast amounts of data in different locations becomes a very daunting task. I hope Cyera could provide a much clearer roadmap to go from auditability to enablement of the tool and then eventually enforcement. I think we're kind of stuck between enablement and enforcement at this point because there's a lot to take on. It's usually small teams managing this for a much larger population. Cyera’s UI could be improved to enhance the overall user experience. More self-serve report generation would always be welcome, rather than having to rely on the Cyera team. The ability to customize issue statuses would also be a great option, instead of being limited to the standard Open, Closed, or In Progress. I like that the installation of Cyera was very fast. The proof of concept we started was completed in just a few days, and we were able to see the data within three days and start working on it. I think the hardest thing to understand is how to improve the system after the first integration and the creation of the rules. It's hard to understand the process of how to improve the system. I like how easy Cyera is to use. The user interface is very friendly and intuitive, so I don't have to search a lot to find the tools I need. I find Cyera to be an incredibly user-friendly tool that makes navigating data security processes straightforward and efficient. Its intuitive design allows me to easily get up-to-date information about our data and its locations with just a few clicks, which is invaluable for my work. High-Accuracy Data Discovery: The most common praise for Cyera is its ability to uncover “shadow data”—sensitive information (PII, PCI, secrets, etc.) that has drifted into unmanaged buckets or ended up in forgotten databases. In contrast, legacy tools (such as traditional DLPs) often depend on rigid regex patterns that can generate a large number of false positives.
