Taxley

Taxley UK LLP (LLP number OC461735, England and Wales) publishes Taxley, a web application through which a director of a small UK limited company calculates Corporation Tax and prepares the CT600, the tax computation and iXBRL accounts (dormant, micro-entity under FRS 105, or small company under FRS 102 Section 1A). The return is filed to HMRC under the company's own Government Gateway login. Accounts prepared in Taxley can be filed at Companies House, which has been available since 28 September 2026 and needs a paid, finished return and the company's 6-character authentication code. Calculations cover the main rate, small profits rate and marginal relief, loans to participators (CT600A), UK group relief, charities (CT600E), losses and long first periods. Preparing and previewing a return costs nothing; a single fee per return is charged when the company files, with no subscription, and it includes the Companies House accounts filing. Limitations: Confirmation statements (CS01) are not filed. R&D relief, medium-sized or audited companies, VAT, Self Assessment and Making Tax Digital for Income Tax are outside its scope. Taxley is software, not an accountant or tax agent, and gives no tax advice.

How it works

The Art of Service

The Art of Service is best for compliance and GRC teams that already meet one framework and now have to evidence a second one. It shows, control by control, which requirements of the new standard your existing controls already cover, which they do not, and the reasoning behind each match. The library covers 934 compliance frameworks and 45,023 controls, including ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2, GDPR, CMMC and PCI DSS, with 315K+ cross-framework mappings. Controls are checked against the published source documents and carry the evidence an auditor asks for. What teams use it for: - Crosswalk reports: every control of a target standard your current framework already evidences, every one it does not, and the claims that were argued against and rejected (USD 299 per framework pair) - Document review: upload one policy and see which controls it addresses, which it misses, and draft wording for each gap (USD 499 per document) - Gap analysis and control-by-control self-assessment against any supported framework, with PDF and Excel exports - API access, data licensing and an MCP server for GRC platforms, audit firms and AI agents Built by Gerard Blokdyk, who has published compliance and governance material since 2000. Start free with no credit card. Monthly plans from USD 19.

Trackost

Trackost is inventory and cost-of-goods (COGS) software for handmade makers: soap, candle, cosmetics, jewelry and food-gift businesses selling on Etsy, Shopify and Faire. Sales platforms report what sold, not what it cost to make, so costs drift and a bestseller can quietly lose money. Trackost keeps one live per-unit cost. Purchases re-average material cost, with shipping, tax and discounts spread across lines as landed cost. Multi-level recipes (bills of materials) re-price with wastage, labor and overhead. Production batches consume materials and snapshot their cost. Orders record per-line COGS and fees, and returns reverse cleanly. Reports cover P&L, profit per product and channel, inventory valuation and a Schedule C COGS worksheet, with CSV export. One flat plan, never metered on orders, with unlimited materials, products and team members. To switch, send your spreadsheet or Craftybase exports and the migration is done for you, free, on every plan.

Varde

Varde is a compliance self-assessment platform for UK organisations that need a clear answer on where they stand, without an enterprise procurement process. Answer plain-English questions about how your organisation actually works, and Varde produces a RAG-rated report showing where you meet the requirements, where you partly meet them, and where the gaps are. The assessment is free and usually takes 10–20 minutes, depending on how much applies to your organisation. Schemes covered: FCA SYSC 10A – telephone and electronic communications recording, for FCA-regulated firms UK GDPR – for businesses, with dedicated tiers for community organisations, clubs and charities DORA – in early access for UK firms with EU exposure If the report shows gaps, the paid stage takes it further: it confirms what you already have in place, produces a detailed gap report, and guides you through closing each missing criterion. For SYSC 10A, this includes a policy builder. Lower pricing for the paid stage is available to community organisations, clubs and charities. Varde is built by Stripy Fish Networks, an independent IT security and compliance consultancy established in 2003.

Xither

Your vendors change what they promise by editing a web page. There is usually no email and no changelog, just a different sentence where the old one used to be. Your own customer contracts often turn their change into your deadline, and their data processing agreement may give you a fixed number of days to object, counted from when they publish. Xither re-reads the pages each vendor publishes (sub-processor lists, data processing agreements, privacy and trust pages, and model retirement schedules) every day, keeps a dated copy of every reading, and tells you the morning one differs. Each alert shows the lines that moved, the vendor's own clause quoted word for word, and the date your window closes. Xither reports what a page says, never what it means: every finding is a verbatim quote with its source address and the date it was read. Where a vendor publishes nothing, or blocks automated readers, Xither says so rather than leaving a gap. It watches 187 AI and SaaS vendors today, and customers can ask it to watch any other vendor. Every plan includes an inbox of changes that need you, drafted customer notices, a monthly evidence report, answers for the AI section of security questionnaires, exports, and a shared workspace for your team. Plans start at $49 a month, with a 30-day free trial and no card.
