I love how tax.com allows me to create custom fields and keep dormant holdings organized. The layout is intuitive and the reporting tools are pleasurable to use. Their support team is incredibly patient and methodical, offering guidance through calls or emails, and walking me through processes at my own pace. The webinars are valuable, and I'm impressed by how suggestions I've made in the past were implemented in later releases. The initial setup was refreshingly straightforward, particularly with our entity-based fields. Plus, exporting to a spreadsheet is quick, allowing me to reconcile records across separate systems efficiently.

PinPoint TDM and RatePoint Cut My Use Tax Review Time in Half

PinPoint TDM is the tool I open the most. I handle use tax for about nine clients across different states, and before Pinpoint I was pulling AP transaction exports into Excel and manually flagging which vendors hadn't charged tax. Now it picks up those gaps on then monthly spend data and flags them for me. I still review everything, but the time I spend digging through invoices dropped by half, maybe more. RatePoint is the other piece I rely on. When a client adds a new location or ships to an address I haven't dealt with before, I can pull the exact rate breakdown by jurisdiction instead of hunting through state DOR websites. That's especially useful for clients in state like Colorado where local rates change depending on the street.
