Free trial sign-ups were dropping off before completing their first project setup

What we realized was that people are signing up for a free trial of our analytics tool, logging in once and then never actually using the account, because importing their data all first time seemed hard. Video Authors of customer education content has signed agreement with Represent Studio whose idea is paid product tours for trial accounts. And they did it in under two minutes, showing exactly what you had to do in order to use the software. You should remove all irrelevant settings from the script, and only perform main setup actions. Simply proposing an account setup completion led to dramatically quicker trial outcomes, and as a result, our growth team found many more of their free trials turning into we-want-to-pay-you customers.

Our sales calls used to spend 20 minutes just explaining what our software actually does

This week, when we launched our new platform and we struggled to explain the automated reporting tools included in it to buyers. All the demo calls for the account managers was taking to explain features instead of closing deals. We commissioned Represent Studio to design a short intro for our launch video team for something we could ship out prior to sales calls. Next, based on the rough screen recordings we had sent over, they took our materials and edited together a slick two minute demo of the software in action. They knew what to highlight as the main selling points, but also how to steer clear of a rabbit hole of technical details. Because we created this video up front, it changed the game: prospects came into demos knowing 80% of the features we cared about, which made sales conversations much shorter.

Fast Turnaround and Smooth Draft Revisions

The timeline during the acquisition of new users through their first week was the biggest support pain point for us. Instead, people getting lost in the settings and emailing our support instead of reading long help documents. This flow has been entirely fixed by Represent Studio. They looked at where users were quitting and made four short, step-by-step walkthrough videos. The coolest: several functions that we used to pre-formatted text to animation they then get rid of half of that fluff and greatly simplified those instructions. With this, new users setup on their own and our support team makes far fewer redundant setup calls.
