Google’s Programmable Search Engine is a feature-rich way to create a custom search experience for whatever collection of information you want to index. In my case, I built a custom search engine for my school’s website and related web properties.
The setup process was simple and straightforward. The end result let me integrate it into our website immediately, including matching our colors and fonts. Meanwhile, our development team worked with the Programmable Search Engine APIs to build a more robust front end that integrated cleanly with our React front end and presented search results in an easy-to-consume format.
In terms of performance, it closely matched our experience with Bing, and it was significantly easier to maintain than the self-hosted system we previously ran with Searchblox.
The price was right for us: free.
There are a couple of downsides. The only support available is documentation, although the documentation for Programmable Search Engine is excellent, and we didn’t run into problems at any stage of integration or development. The other downside is that Google’s Programmable Search Engine doesn’t integrate with Google’s AI infrastructure, but for us that wasn’t a requirement.

It gives a fully configured GPU ready ML environment, with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch plus all drivers installed. This removes setup issues & helps start training models asap
It quickly creates images that work well as headshots, without having to get them professionally done. I can choose outfits, backgrounds, and other details, which makes it easy to get the look I want.
