## ZeroSSL Reviews
  ### 1. ZeroSSL Makes SSL Setup and Auto-Renewals Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fredrickone M. | Mobile Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL makes setting up SSL certificates completely painless. The clean UI/UX and straightforward onboarding mean you can issue a cert in minutes without a steep learning curve. Performance is fast and reliable, and setting up automated 90-day renewals via ACME integrations saves me from constantly worrying about cert expirations or manual server management. Best of all, they offer free SSL certificates, which is a massive ROI boost for smaller projects, startups, or anyone who can't afford paid plans

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

While ZeroSSL is great overall, the limits on the free tier can feel a bit restrictive once you need more than 3 active certificates. Additionally, support response times can occasionally be a little slow for free users, and navigating through paid upgrade prompts during routine management can sometimes break up an otherwise smooth workflow.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL solves the hassle and expense of manual SSL management. Setting up and tracking renewals across multiple domains used to be a tedious, time-consuming task with constant risk of site downtime. Their ACME automation and free tier, renewals handle themselves seamlessly in the background. It saves me significant development time, eliminates security downtime, and lets me deploy secure sites without unnecessary overhead costs. They have truly been a life saver

  ### 2. ZeroSSL: User-Friendly SSL Setup That Works Right Out of the Box

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daan C. | Java / JavaScript Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

Very user-friendly and worked right out of the box. I've used it before to set up an SSL certificate on an older server, and the whole process went smoothly without any issues. In contrast, Let's Encrypt felt like a hassle, while ZeroSSL was far more intuitive and straightforward to work with.

Pricing is also a big plus, it's free to start, and you only need to pay once you go beyond a certain number of websites/domains, which makes it very accessible for smaller setups.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

If you're comfortable using something like Certbot directly, ZeroSSL's simplified interface might feel like it's hiding a bit of the fine-grained control you'd normally have. It's a fair trade-off for how much simpler everything else becomes, just worth knowing going in.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes the hassle out of setting up and managing SSL certificates. In the past, getting certificates working, especially through Let's Encrypt, meant more manual steps and troubleshooting than I wanted to deal with. ZeroSSL fixes that by making the entire process straightforward and dependable. Even on an older server, everything worked out of the box, without extra configuration headaches.

  ### 3. Beginner-Friendly SSL Setup in Just a Few Clicks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** younes s. | Fraud Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I like how easy it is to set up ssl certificates especially for beginners who do not know how to use certbot and command line interface to set up ssl for their website. Just a few clicks and your website now has SSL !

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

It doesn’t have any downsides. I would only say maybe the fact that it’s only 3 months for free, but that’s not really a downside I understand the need to monetize it after a certain amount of time.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps beginners like me who do not know how to use command line interface to easily get SSL without having to worry about learning command line commands and messing up

  ### 4. Easy, Fast SSL Certificate Issuance with Great Value and Broad Compatibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL is an easy-to-use solution for SSL certificate generation. Its pricing plans offer a good cost-benefit balance, and it provides broad support for certificate issuance, including for IP addresses. The validation steps are simple to follow and the process is quick. The certificates generated are compatible with all major services and integrate seamlessly.

Due to the technical nature of the product, the UI doesn’t include an AI assistant, automated processes, or anything similar. This service is primarily aimed at developers or DevOps teams who need to generate a good number of certificates at a reasonable price.

The certification entity has worldwide support, and, in overall, is a good service, easy to get started and use.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

There is no downside to what they offer; their service is exactly what they advertised. The only thing they need to improve is the certificate duration, because its expiration date is tied to the billing dates. If there’s no payment for the next billing period, the certificate expires.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SSL certification for custom software platforms that use an IP address, where the client doesn’t want to use a domain.

  ### 5. Effortless SSL Management with ZeroSSL

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishu . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I use ZeroSSL mainly for quickly setting up and managing SSL certificates for my web development projects and personal deployments. I appreciate that it helps me quickly issue and renew free, trusted SSL certificates without dealing with complicated command-line setups or manual configurations. I like how user-friendly and straightforward the dashboard is, making it quick and easy to generate and manage SSL certificates without any hassle. The clean interface makes it easy to find what I need quickly without getting overwhelmed by technical clutter, saving me time when managing certificates. The initial setup was very straightforward and quick, allowing me to generate certificates with minimal configuration. I have switched to ZeroSSL from Certbot and Let's Encrypt because it provides a simpler, web-based management experience.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Sometimes the limits on the free tier or pricing plans can feel a bit restrictive for personal projects, so having more flexibility there would be great.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to quickly set up and manage SSL certificates. It helps me issue and renew free, trusted certificates without complicated setups. The user-friendly dashboard saves me time, making it easy to manage certificates without hassle.

  ### 6. User-Friendly SSL Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ezhilarasan U. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I use ZeroSSL to secure my websites with free SSL certificates. I like that the setup process is straightforward, even for smaller websites or personal projects. What I like most about ZeroSSL is how easy it is to use. The interface is clean, the certificate setup process is straightforward, and managing SSL certificates doesn't require much technical effort. The free plan is also helpful for personal projects and small websites. I also appreciate the reliable certificate issuance process and the helpful documentation. Whenever I needed guidance, the setup instructions were easy to follow, making the overall experience smooth and hassle-free. The initial setup of ZeroSSL was quite straightforward, and the instructions helped with configuring the SSL certificate without much difficulty, which made the overall onboarding experience smooth.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I find the free plan's limitations challenging, especially for managing multiple websites. The certificate renewal reminders and management features could be more streamlined. While the platform is generally reliable, having more advanced features included in the free tier would make it even better. Increasing the number of certificates or adding more management features would be practical for users with multiple small websites. A more seamless certificate renewal process with clearer reminders and additional automation options would be helpful. It would also be beneficial to have a detailed dashboard showing certificate status and upcoming expirations at a glance.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to secure my websites with free SSL certificates. It simplifies enabling HTTPS, managing renewals, and ensuring secure connections. ZeroSSL eliminates browser security warnings, encrypts data, and saves time with straightforward certificate management, especially for smaller websites or personal projects.

  ### 7. Incredibly Easy, Fast SSL Certificates in Minutes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erdem O. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

What I like most is how incredibly easy it is to use. I can generate a free SSL certificate in just a few minutes, and the whole process feels quick and hassle-free. The interface is very straightforward, so I can get in, do what I need, and get the job done fast.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The 3-certificate limit on the free tier feels a bit restrictive, and the interface pushes paid upgrades quite frequently. It would be nicer if the free plan offered slightly more flexibility for small projects.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves me a lot of time by simplifying the SSL creation and renewal process. Rather than dealing with complicated server setups, I can secure my websites quickly and keep everything protected, so my visitors get a safe browsing experience without any hassle.

  ### 8. Effortless SSL Management with Rich Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** pius m. | Systems and DevOps Manager (Regional), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I think the biggest benefit of ZeroSSL is its diversity from the certificate authority. There's a free tier, and it has a very good dashboard where you can monitor what's going on with your accounts or website traffic. I find the dashboard particularly useful for visualizing data and managing the expiry dates of certificates. It's straightforward to see who is accessing the site, and it provides good traffic visibility, which enhances security management. The platform is really great for managing certificates, with its wide range of options and the visibility of security across teams.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

You must generate external account binding credentials before ACME works

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to ensure secure data transfer with SSL certificates, providing encryption between sites and enhancing security by authenticating data transmissions.

  ### 9. ZeroSSL Makes SSL Setup Easy, Affordable, and Reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas L. | Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL is a great way to get started with SSL certificates when you are at the beginning of a new business. The possibility of having a free option helps you build credibility while you are still on a moment of keeping expenses low. As you grow and decide to move to the next step, ZeroSSL has everything you need. Very friendly interface, easy to use and install. The performance is great, as well as the support.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

So far, I haven't faced anything I dislike.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a business that doesn't have a physical place, ZeroSSL certificates are one of the keys to increasing the credibility of the company.

  ### 10. Effortless SSL Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I use ZeroSSL because it provides full protection and features like quick validation, Acme integrations, and a REST API. I like that it is free, which is a big plus for me. The validation and setup tools are really useful, and I also appreciate the automation tools, developer and API tools, monitoring and security tools, management console, and core SSL certificate tools. Additionally, the initial setup was easy, even though I have to do it every ninety days because of the free certificate.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

It's not very simple for non-technical users. I find large-scale automation with many requests and wildcard certificates for simple HTTP validation challenging. There's an issue with shared hosting with weak DNS control, and sometimes legacy command line clients are installed wrong. I want to set it and forget it, but it requires more technical setup, like DNS APIs and EAB credentials. I also have to redo the setup frequently because I use a ninety-day free certificate.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL for full protection, and its quick validation and Acme integrations with a REST API are handy.

  ### 11. ZeroSSL combined with acme.sh still makes certificates as easy as a checkbox

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh G. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

Integration is straightforward and it is well supported by lots of software

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

No complaints - zerossl works as advertised and has been a reliable service for me for years

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL takes the cost and labor out of SSL certificate management. What used to require several hours of work each week is now an automated process that happens in the background.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're thrilled to hear that you find ZeroSSL easy to use and well integrated with your existing tools. Thank you for your positive feedback!

  ### 12. Easy-to-Use Interface with Smooth Integrations and Solid Performance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jide N. | Digital Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

Integrations and interphase looks easy to use.
The performance was as desired and the pricing was one thing that I didn't proceed with. I didn't require any onboarding support. Neither did I use the AI feature.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

A video guide for the integration would be easier to follow.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I benefited from the free 3 month SSL offer

  ### 13. Straightforward API Integration and Efficient, Developer-Friendly Deployment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amru Rahiman K. | CEO / Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

API integration is straightforward, and it’s developer-friendly to deploy.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Nothing to add as of now; the platform is very efficient.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SSL deployment: since it’s a CDN, it would be better if you provided something like ZeroSSL.

  ### 14. Streamlined UI, Great Integrations, and Always-Available Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

The streaming line UI and integrations are great, and the pricing is also great and easy to understand. The support staff are available anytime, anywhere when needed, and the performance is great. With great Ai intelligence

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The monthly pricing is alittle high but i think they should be more pricing packages

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Domain SSL keeps all my domains in one place, which makes it easier to manage everything for my hosting company.

  ### 15. ZeroSSL Offers Superior Flexibility and Compatibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I like having more than one option to obtain the certificate on ZeroSSL. The system works well, ensuring the greatest compatibility of the certificate, which is a significant advantage. The initial setup process was nice.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I would like there to be service in Brazil and for there to be more free options. It would also be great to be able to renew the certificate for free.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to obtain digital certificates, to put the padlock on websites using HTTPS, and for the greater compatibility of the certificate compared to Certbot. I like the various options for obtaining the certificate and the efficient functioning of the system.

  ### 16. Easy to use SSL service for website security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Compared with Let’s Encrypt SSL, the features in the free version are a bit disappointing.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can instantly generate a free SSL certificate and secure my domain, which is really helpful. It’s a great option for beginners, whether you’re running a startup or you’re new to this.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you find ZeroSSL easy to manage and deploy, and that it has been beneficial for securing your domains. We appreciate your feedback about the free version features and will take it into consideration for future improvements.

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I like that ZeroSSL is flexible and that their SSL certificates are simple and effective. The initial setup was also very easy for me.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I would like to choose when to pay and have the ability to instantly cancel or suspend a month without having to restart from the beginning.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find ZeroSSL flexible, simple, and effective for managing SSL certificates.

  ### 21. Wildcard Certs Made Easy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I like that ZeroSSL can issue sub-domain wildcard certificates like *.test.example.com, which is pretty unique and not commonly available with other providers. This capability was the main reason for switching over from Let's Encrypt, as it solves the problem of issuing certs with wildcards.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Setup is a bit more complicated due to authentication. More plans would be nice.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL issues wildcard certificates like *.test.example.com, which other providers can't do, making it essential for us.

  ### 22. Super easy, much cheaper

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2024

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I tried out ZeroSSL to help our brokerage spend less money on our wildcard certificates. Not only was it much cheaper than our previous issuer, but the customer support has been awesome. I made some mistakes and needed guidance and assistance, and they were super responsive, and helped me with exactly what I needed.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I don't have many suggestions, just maybe more explanation for each step on what you're purhcasing, installing, etc., for newbies like myself.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much cheaper option for SSL than our previous issuer.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you found ZeroSSL to be a much cheaper option for your wildcard certificates and that our customer support was awesome. We appreciate your feedback about providing more explanation for each step and will take that into consideration for future improvements.

  ### 23. The advertizing is very deceptive - They are not an alternative for free SSL by any means

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

The have a nice easy to use console to manage and create your certs with. If you want to pay for certs, they have a nice enviroment.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The stance they take on the "3 free certs" is quite different than what they lead you to believe. You get 3 free certs once, for life. That is you can get one free cert and renew it twice or in my case get 3 for just fun project domanins, and when you go to renew them find out, oh, gee we gave you the 3 free ones. No renewals, time to fork over some money. This is in sharp contrast to them being compared to places like freessl that are actually free. If you are just starting out, I woudl succuest avoiding these people as they have proven they can not be trusted.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I intended to use zerossl to provide free 90 days certs to a few small, personal web sites that I operate. Signing up with them was fast and easy, generating the certs was fast and easy, sadly, I never got to even try them as I had an accident and was laid up for a while, and they expired. No problem I thought, I can either renew them now that I am on my feet again or regnerate them if I can not rener them. This is where the problem with zerossl arose. They compare themselves with derivses that are truly free, but when zerossl says they will issues you 3 free ssl certs, they literally mean 3, no free renewals or regeneration of ones that have expired. You get 3 free certs for your lifetime from them. This is far from what some other places give you, totally free 90 certs for as long as you want to renew and deal with them every 90 days. Some of them even have the request, renewal, and install mechanized. Sadly my case is an odd web server and I am not able to use that service, and zerossl was able to give me certs to try and install manually.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We apologize for any confusion regarding our free SSL certificate offering. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services.

  ### 24. Convenient and fast!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro T. | CEO / IT Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I have to say it all! I'm very happy with ZeroSSL. Very fast certificate creation (with email verification) and very simple implementation.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Nothing, in my opinion it is complete! I don't see any deficiencies in the service.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast support in business questions and the service never has problems! I am very satisfied.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're thrilled to hear that you are happy with our fast certificate creation and simple implementation. Thank you for your positive feedback!

  ### 25. Simple to use and fast to set up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2024

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

The site is intuative, and easy to use, it's clear and the setup instructions are almost idiot-proof so even if you're new to setting up and integrating SSL certificates it's actaully really easy on ZeroSSL.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Revoked certificates count as part of your usage, but I sort of understand why, so be very careful when setting up certificates to ensure you've got all the right details! This comes under user-error really tho, rather than an issue with the product.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Low cost and quick to set up, saves both money and time.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you find ZeroSSL intuitive and easy to use. We strive to make the setup process as simple as possible for all users, regardless of their experience level.

  ### 26. Easy to use certificates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pasquale D. | Director of Infrastructure and Security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2024

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2024

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Renewal is not possible which makes all the process manual

Practical use during the development process

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you find our unlimited 90-day certificates practical for your development process!

  ### 28. Reliable SSL certificate provider with ACME features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex L. | Founder, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL allows you to manually generate and renew certificates, or to generate and renew them using an ACME client (like Caddy web server, for example.) I most appreciate that I can manually generate 3-month or 1-year certs to use on non-ACME-compatible systems. It is much more cost effective and provides you with an intuitive dashboard to view the status of your certificates.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I believe they could improve the dashboard and the developer experience. There are some lacking features that would be loved, including having multiple API keys and improving the dashboard to show more information on a single page.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unifying approach to managing SSL certificates across applications and systems. ZeroSSL has become a single pane of glass for all SSL certificates in our environment.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

  ### 29. Easy to use 1y certs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andreas S. | Chief Product Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2021

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I'm using ZeroSSL to get 1 year certificates for my website. Verification is always super smooth via DNS.

90d certs via ACME are also useful for side projects.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

They have sometimes longer maintenance on Saturdays.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Issuing certificates was always a complicated procedure for me.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you find our verification process smooth and our 90-day certificates useful for side projects. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by longer maintenance periods on Saturdays.

  ### 30. A good solution for SSL

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosana S. | Redactor de contenidos web, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2022

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I used ZeroSSL as a solution to a free SSL, it wasn't easy to understand the setup at first but by searching a youtube video I could apply the SSL to my website. The best part is that they send you a reminder when it is about to expire many days in advance so you can prepare for renewal.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The only thing is that the premium SSL is quite expensive and the free option only last 3 months but it lets you renew three times for free. I think the premium version should always last with a year's payment less expensive, I believe many people will choose this option if possible. Also, I think it should be possible to set up quickly with the email you use for the account or any email available from the website, not just the ones they gave, it makes the process harder to do it. If anyone is doing the setup for the first time, make sure to do it by uploading the files to FTP, but if you have questions search on youtube.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL allows me to save money while I find an easy way to put a good SSL on my website or at least a cheap option I'd like to use. The website has functioned well since I used this option. Beware that it is easier to set it up when using Cpanel but other options are welcomed.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you found ZeroSSL to be a good solution for obtaining a free SSL for your website. We appreciate your feedback about the setup process and the reminder for SSL expiration. We understand your concerns about the premium SSL pricing and the limited duration of the free option. We will take your suggestions into consideration for future improvements.

  ### 31. Easy to use UI, but there's a disparity between Basic and Premium subscription levels.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

The UI is very easy to navigate; the dashboard is useful in viewing the overall status of the certificates.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The Basic level, at $10 per month, offers three 1-year certificates; the next level up, Premium, is $50 per month and offers ten 1-year certificates.

Many web developers will need more than three 1-year certs., but perhaps less than 10. The most cost-effective way to do this is to open up a second Basic account to have up to six 1-year cert.s per year. This would cost only $20 per month rather than $50 per month for 10.

Perhaps Zero SSL can look at a pay-as-you-go plan and charge incrementally for the number of 1-year cert.s that are needed.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, the process of securing a website is super easy with Zero SSL; each step is well documented and follows the previous one until the certificate is generated. They also provide several ways to verify ownership/access to the website for which the certificate is being generated - HTML, DNS entry and uploading of a file to a hidden directory.

A great tool and a great value!

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your input on the disparity between Basic and Premium subscription levels. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our offerings and will take your suggestions into consideration for future updates.

  ### 32. Best Certificate Generator for Small Sites Out There

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel I. | Marketing and Data Expert, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

it is pretty simple to use and install the certificates generated by ZeroSSL. Additionally, it has walkthroughs in order to be able to install by yourself the certificates issued in different types of sites. It is really simple and cheap.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

On the smaller plans, there are always limitations on the number of certificates that can be issued for a year term, It would be awesome to be able to have an "auto issue" function in order to avoid doing all the steps of verifications an issuing new certificates every three months (for the 3-month cases).

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Be able to manage multiple certificates from one single site, and keep track of their expiring and issuing dates, which is awesome to agencies and individuals that mange multiple sites.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you find ZeroSSL simple to use and appreciate the walkthroughs for installing certificates. We understand your concern about limitations on the number of certificates for smaller plans and the need for an 'auto issue' function. We'll take your feedback into consideration for future improvements.

  ### 33. ZeroSSL for Zero Fuss SSL

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio D. | Lead Product Engineer, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I've been using LetsEncrypt and CertBot to automate SSL provisioning free of charge for smaller clients with zero budgets for as long as I can remember.
ZeroSSL takes all the technical and difficult bits, and handles it for you.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL doesn't provide you all the functionality of using the raw CLI tool directly does, but - if you know you need that functionality then you're a skilled technical person who can do it using the tool.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing cost effective SSL encryption to all my clients with as little overhead or effort for me as a freelancer / contractor. ZeroSSL also solves the renewal and upkeep of these certs for me.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that ZeroSSL has made SSL provisioning easier for you and your clients. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to improve our service.

  ### 34. Good certificate generator

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raj S. | Back End Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL provides a free trial period of 90 days initially for beginners to try and understand how the SSL certificates work. The certificates can contain multiple domains as well and it is easy to set up and use the certificates.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The free trial period is for 90 days which is desirable only for smaller projects or businesses and afterwards, purchasing a premium plan would become slightly expensive.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the help of ZeroSSL, I am able to manage all my certificates from one dashboard. This helps to renew the certificate timely so as to ensure that users do not face any problems in accessing the website.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you appreciate the 90-day free trial and the ease of setting up SSL certificates with multiple domains. We understand that the premium plan may be expensive for some, but it allows us to continue providing quality service and support.

  ### 35. Quick, Simple, Free

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

Free to use so that our IT team was able to test out SSL without having to touch the budget. The web interface is also very simple so it's easy to navigate around.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Off the top of my head, there were not many issues that were present when even trying to install the SSL certificate. The only true downside is that the free certificates only last 90 days but can be renewed. It makes work a little more tedious to have to renew every 90 days but it could be worse (or cost us).

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL is allowing us to get free SSL at no cost to our IT Team when working on web-based projects. This is great because the IT budget can be quite tight and free SSL makes it easy for them to continue working on new projects.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you found ZeroSSL to be free and easy to use. We understand that the 90-day renewal process can be a bit tedious, but we're happy to provide this service at no cost to you.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

The best thing about them is obviously the free SSL certs that one can get with them. Great for person like me who was just getting started and wanted to save some bucks.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

One has to renew the certs every 3 months on free plan. I really don't mind that though, I am I still get to save quick bucks :)

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem it solves instantly without charging you is, it helps you make your website https, this is something Google Search Engine Algorithm prefers over non https sites.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you are happy with our free SSL certs! We understand the inconvenience of renewing every 3 months, but we're glad it's still beneficial for you. Thank you for choosing ZeroSSL!
