**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I really like that ZeroSSL offers a free trial or a free 90-day plan, which was especially helpful when I was starting out and couldn't afford an SSL certificate. It makes adding SSL certificates to my websites easier. The service is easy to understand and navigate, which is great since I manage a lot of websites. When I was starting, I didn't find any useful YouTube videos, but ZeroSSL's tutorials helped me understand how to configure the SSL certificates for my site. I also like that it allows me to manage all my blogs and certificates in one dashboard. It's definitely one of the best tools for SSL out there, which is why I'd recommend it to others.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I think ZeroSSL could improve by providing video tutorials. As a beginner, I had some issues navigating the platform and configuring SSL on other platforms like Namecheap or GoDaddy. While the text tutorials were helpful, they were still a bit confusing, so having video guidance would make the process much easier.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to secure my websites easily with SSL certificates, avoiding security errors and benefiting from a free 90-day plan which was crucial when I started. It helps manage multiple blogs from one dashboard, making it convenient and cost-effective for me.

  ### 2. SSL Management Without the Usual Headaches

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

The biggest thing I like about ZeroSSL is how straightforward the certificate management experience is. The dashboard is clean and easy to understand, so I can quickly find what I need without spending time figuring out where different options are. I also like that the overall process feels lightweight and practical, especially when managing certificates for multiple websites. It does what I need without making SSL management feel more complicated than it has to be.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The main area I think ZeroSSL could improve is the guidance around troubleshooting and setup. When a certificate validation or configuration step doesn’t go as expected, it would be helpful to have more detailed, actionable explanations directly in the interface. For users managing several domains or integrating SSL into different environments, clearer guidance could make the setup process faster and reduce the need to troubleshoot issues manually.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL solves the hassle of obtaining and maintaining SSL certificates without needing a complicated setup. It helps me keep websites protected with HTTPS while reducing the time I spend dealing with certificate creation, renewal, and configuration. This is especially useful when managing multiple domains, because having a centralized place to handle certificates makes the process more manageable. Overall, it saves operational effort and helps avoid the downtime or security issues that can come from an expired certificate.

  ### 3. Easy, Cost-Effective SSL Management with a Clean Interface

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL is easy to use and makes SSL certificate management feel straightforward. I especially appreciate the clean, simple interface, the quick certificate issuance process, and how easy it is to renew and manage certificates without needing extensive technical knowledge. Overall, it’s a convenient option for securing websites and applications, particularly for teams that want a cost-effective SSL solution without added complexity.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The biggest drawback is that the free plan comes with some limitations, and the renewal process can sometimes feel a bit cumbersome. The interface is generally easy to use overall, but certain advanced options and settings aren’t as intuitive as they could be. It would also help to have clearer guidance and documentation when troubleshooting certificate-related issues, especially when something goes wrong during renewal.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL makes it easier for us to obtain and manage SSL/TLS certificates, so we can secure our websites and services without having to handle the entire certificate lifecycle manually. It cuts down the work involved in certificate issuance, domain validation, and deployment, while also helping us keep our services protected with valid HTTPS certificates. Overall, it saves engineering time and makes certificate management more manageable across different environments.

  ### 4. Cert renewal I no longer have to think about

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I've been using ZeroSSL for the SSL cert on dbatu.co.in, one of our company websites, and it's honestly become one of those tools I don't think about much anymore — which is the best compliment I can give a cert manager. The ACME automation just works. I've got renewal wired into a PowerShell script, and I haven't had a cert expire unexpectedly since switching over.
What I appreciate most is that it doesn't try to be flashy. The dashboard is clean, tells you what's expiring and when, and gets out of the way otherwise. Coming from a background where I've dealt with servers that had zero visibility into cert status until something broke, that alone is worth a lot.
Free tier is generous too — no weird throttling that makes you feel punished for not paying. If I had one gripe, it'd be [add your actual complaint here — e.g. documentation could be clearer on edge cases, or support response time]. But for managing a live production site, it's held up better than I expected.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The DNS validation flow took a bit of trial and error to get right the first time — the instructions weren't as clear as I'd have liked, especially around TTL propagation delays. It wasn't a dealbreaker, just a bit more fiddly than I expected for something that's otherwise pretty smooth. I'd also like to see a bit more visibility into API rate limits before you hit them, rather than finding out after a script fails mid-run.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before switching to ZeroSSL, cert renewal for our company websites was a manual, easy-to-forget task — the kind of thing that's fine until it isn't, and suddenly a site's throwing a security warning because nobody caught the expiry in time. ZeroSSL's ACME automation solved that directly. I've got it scripted into our renewal process, so certs rotate automatically without me having to track expiry dates in a spreadsheet or set calendar reminders.
The bigger benefit is peace of mind. For a site like dbatu.co.in, uptime and trust matter — a cert failure is the kind of small thing that erodes credibility fast. Having that risk automated away means I can focus on other infrastructure work instead of babysitting SSL renewals.

  ### 5. Easy SSL Management with Reliable Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohan G. | Information Technology Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through LinkedIn

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

What I like best about ZeroSSL is how easy it is to issue and manage SSL certificates, even for multiple websites. The dashboard is clean and straightforward, making it simple to generate certificates, validate domains, and renew them when needed. I also appreciate the ACME support for automating certificate renewals, which saves a lot of manual work. The free plan is generous enough for many personal and small business websites, while the paid plans offer useful features for larger deployments. Overall, ZeroSSL provides reliable certificates, fast issuance, and an excellent balance between simplicity and powerful functionality.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Overall, I have had a positive experience with ZeroSSL, but there are a few areas that could be improved. The free plan has usage limits that growing businesses may outgrow quickly, and some advanced features are only available in higher-tier plans. The dashboard is easy to use, but managing a large number of certificates could be more streamlined with better filtering and bulk management options. I would also like to see more detailed documentation and troubleshooting guides for advanced configurations and integrations.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL helps us secure our websites with trusted SSL certificates without a complicated setup process. Before using it, managing SSL certificates and renewals across multiple domains was more time-consuming and increased the risk of expired certificates. With ZeroSSL, certificate issuance is fast, and ACME automation makes renewals much easier, reducing manual effort and downtime. This has improved website security, maintained visitor trust, and helped ensure uninterrupted HTTPS access for our business websites and client projects. The free plan is also a cost-effective solution for smaller websites, while the paid features provide room to scale as our needs grow.

  ### 6. ZeroSSL Makes SSL Setup and Auto-Renewals Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fredrickone M. | Mobile Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through LinkedIn

**Incentivized:** This reviewer was offered a nominal incentive as thanks for completing this review.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL makes setting up SSL certificates completely painless. The clean UI/UX and straightforward onboarding mean you can issue a cert in minutes without a steep learning curve. Performance is fast and reliable, and setting up automated 90-day renewals via ACME integrations saves me from constantly worrying about cert expirations or manual server management. Best of all, they offer free SSL certificates, which is a massive ROI boost for smaller projects, startups, or anyone who can't afford paid plans

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

While ZeroSSL is great overall, the limits on the free tier can feel a bit restrictive once you need more than 3 active certificates. Additionally, support response times can occasionally be a little slow for free users, and navigating through paid upgrade prompts during routine management can sometimes break up an otherwise smooth workflow.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL solves the hassle and expense of manual SSL management. Setting up and tracking renewals across multiple domains used to be a tedious, time-consuming task with constant risk of site downtime. Their ACME automation and free tier, renewals handle themselves seamlessly in the background. It saves me significant development time, eliminates security downtime, and lets me deploy secure sites without unnecessary overhead costs. They have truly been a life saver

  ### 7. Rate Limiting Headroom and Great Certificate Visibility—My Go-To PKI

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

no, rate limiting by default is the feature which made me switch to zerossl
. it gives a lot of headroom to play with. dns and acme protocol . Also it shows my certificates by default .. in the website which is like a addon
like cherry on top. . Building stuff around caddy and zerossl is nicee. Have got rate limited for a week on letsencrypt while testing some stuff on
some of my hobby projects. And then have discovered zerossl not it;s my go to pki .

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Not dislike but one thing felt missing . A button to revoke all certs in the web ui, also there is no 2fa in the mail. Account so anyone can put any one's mail and impersonate someone

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

no rate limiting in acme protocol helps a lot while playing/testing stuff around reverse proxy and certs..

  ### 8. ZeroSSL: User-Friendly SSL Setup That Works Right Out of the Box

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daan C. | Java / JavaScript Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

Very user-friendly and worked right out of the box. I've used it before to set up an SSL certificate on an older server, and the whole process went smoothly without any issues. In contrast, Let's Encrypt felt like a hassle, while ZeroSSL was far more intuitive and straightforward to work with.

Pricing is also a big plus, it's free to start, and you only need to pay once you go beyond a certain number of websites/domains, which makes it very accessible for smaller setups.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

If you're comfortable using something like Certbot directly, ZeroSSL's simplified interface might feel like it's hiding a bit of the fine-grained control you'd normally have. It's a fair trade-off for how much simpler everything else becomes, just worth knowing going in.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes the hassle out of setting up and managing SSL certificates. In the past, getting certificates working, especially through Let's Encrypt, meant more manual steps and troubleshooting than I wanted to deal with. ZeroSSL fixes that by making the entire process straightforward and dependable. Even on an older server, everything worked out of the box, without extra configuration headaches.

  ### 9. ZeroSSL Streamlines SSL Management with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Source: G2 invite on behalf of seller:** Invitation from G2 on behalf of a seller or affiliate. This reviewer was offered a nominal incentive as thanks for completing this review.

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I really like ZeroSSL because it's easy to use, especially for getting SSL certificates for my websites. The process of setting up and renewing SSL certificates is straightforward and not complicated, which helps me secure my websites with HTTPS. Additionally, I switched from Let's Encrypt to ZeroSSL specifically because of its simpler interface and easier certificate management.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

While I find ZeroSSL easy to use overall, I think the error messages could be clearer. It would be helpful to have a more intuitive domain validation process. When validation fails, it would be great to clearly explain why and provide specific steps to fix it. A simple checklist that shows DNS/HTTP requirements and what is still missing could really make validation easier. During the initial setup, the main challenge I faced was understanding the domain validation steps and resolving validation errors.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to secure my websites with HTTPS, making SSL setup easy without complexity.

  ### 10. Zero SSL: Easy Dashboard and Fast Validation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish B. | Senior Creative Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through LinkedIn

**Source: Organic:** Organic review. This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate.

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

Easy Dashboard: The management console makes it straightforward to generate, validate, and track certificates across multiple sites. Quick Validation: Domain ownership checks complete in seconds using email, DNS, or an HTTP file upload. Automation Support: Built-in ACME protocol integration and REST API options enable automated renewals with minimal manual effort.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Paid Restrictions on Free Tier: The free plan limits users to just three 90-day certificates. Once you hit that cap, you have to subscribe to a paid plan to issue additional certificates.

No Free Wildcard Certificates: On the free tier, you can’t issue wildcard certificates (*.yourdomain.com). This capability requires a premium subscription, while competitors like Let's Encrypt provide wildcard certificates for free.

Account Registration Required: To issue certificates, you must create an account and register an email address. That adds an extra step compared with fully anonymous Automated Certificate Management Environment (ACME) providers.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complex Management Interfaces: Traditional SSL issuance often means dealing with dense, confusing dashboards or rigid command-line setups. ZeroSSL provides an intuitive, user-friendly web interface, which makes it easier to manage certificates manually when needed.

Strict Rate Limiting: Competitors like Let's Encrypt enforce strict weekly limits on certificate creation, which can be especially problematic for platforms issuing large volumes of subdomains or wildcards. ZeroSSL helps alleviate this by offering more lenient, or in some cases no, rate limits through its ACME protocol.

  ### 11. Simple SSL Certificate Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prajwal G. | Jr. Network Engineer, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**G2 Icon:** Our network of Icons are G2 members who are recognized for their outstanding contributions and commitment to helping others through their expertise.

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I like that ZeroSSL makes it easy to create and manage SSL certificates. The domain verification process is straightforward, and I found the dashboard simple to understand when checking and managing certificates. It makes setting up HTTPS less complicated.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The main thing I dislike is that the free certificates have a relatively short validity period, so they need to be renewed regularly. The free plan also has some limitations compared with the paid options.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL helps me solve the problem of setting up HTTPS without making SSL certificate management complicated. I can create a certificate, complete domain verification, and manage the certificate from one place. This saves me time when securing websites and makes the overall process easier to handle.

  ### 12. Beginner-Friendly SSL Setup in Just a Few Clicks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** younes s. | Fraud Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I like how easy it is to set up ssl certificates especially for beginners who do not know how to use certbot and command line interface to set up ssl for their website. Just a few clicks and your website now has SSL !

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

It doesn’t have any downsides. I would only say maybe the fact that it’s only 3 months for free, but that’s not really a downside I understand the need to monetize it after a certain amount of time.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps beginners like me who do not know how to use command line interface to easily get SSL without having to worry about learning command line commands and messing up

  ### 13. Easy, Fast SSL Certificate Issuance with Great Value and Broad Compatibility

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL is an easy-to-use solution for SSL certificate generation. Its pricing plans offer a good cost-benefit balance, and it provides broad support for certificate issuance, including for IP addresses. The validation steps are simple to follow and the process is quick. The certificates generated are compatible with all major services and integrate seamlessly.

Due to the technical nature of the product, the UI doesn’t include an AI assistant, automated processes, or anything similar. This service is primarily aimed at developers or DevOps teams who need to generate a good number of certificates at a reasonable price.

The certification entity has worldwide support, and, in overall, is a good service, easy to get started and use.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

There is no downside to what they offer; their service is exactly what they advertised. The only thing they need to improve is the certificate duration, because its expiration date is tied to the billing dates. If there’s no payment for the next billing period, the certificate expires.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SSL certification for custom software platforms that use an IP address, where the client doesn’t want to use a domain.

  ### 14. Effortless SSL Management with ZeroSSL

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I use ZeroSSL mainly for quickly setting up and managing SSL certificates for my web development projects and personal deployments. I appreciate that it helps me quickly issue and renew free, trusted SSL certificates without dealing with complicated command-line setups or manual configurations. I like how user-friendly and straightforward the dashboard is, making it quick and easy to generate and manage SSL certificates without any hassle. The clean interface makes it easy to find what I need quickly without getting overwhelmed by technical clutter, saving me time when managing certificates. The initial setup was very straightforward and quick, allowing me to generate certificates with minimal configuration. I have switched to ZeroSSL from Certbot and Let's Encrypt because it provides a simpler, web-based management experience.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Sometimes the limits on the free tier or pricing plans can feel a bit restrictive for personal projects, so having more flexibility there would be great.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to quickly set up and manage SSL certificates. It helps me issue and renew free, trusted certificates without complicated setups. The user-friendly dashboard saves me time, making it easy to manage certificates without hassle.

  ### 15. User-Friendly SSL Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ezhilarasan U. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through LinkedIn

**Incentivized:** This reviewer was offered a nominal incentive as thanks for completing this review.

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I use ZeroSSL to secure my websites with free SSL certificates. I like that the setup process is straightforward, even for smaller websites or personal projects. What I like most about ZeroSSL is how easy it is to use. The interface is clean, the certificate setup process is straightforward, and managing SSL certificates doesn't require much technical effort. The free plan is also helpful for personal projects and small websites. I also appreciate the reliable certificate issuance process and the helpful documentation. Whenever I needed guidance, the setup instructions were easy to follow, making the overall experience smooth and hassle-free. The initial setup of ZeroSSL was quite straightforward, and the instructions helped with configuring the SSL certificate without much difficulty, which made the overall onboarding experience smooth.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I find the free plan's limitations challenging, especially for managing multiple websites. The certificate renewal reminders and management features could be more streamlined. While the platform is generally reliable, having more advanced features included in the free tier would make it even better. Increasing the number of certificates or adding more management features would be practical for users with multiple small websites. A more seamless certificate renewal process with clearer reminders and additional automation options would be helpful. It would also be beneficial to have a detailed dashboard showing certificate status and upcoming expirations at a glance.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to secure my websites with free SSL certificates. It simplifies enabling HTTPS, managing renewals, and ensuring secure connections. ZeroSSL eliminates browser security warnings, encrypts data, and saves time with straightforward certificate management, especially for smaller websites or personal projects.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I like ZeroSSL because its user-friendly interface makes it easy to get started and helps new users save time. The REST API integration also makes it quick to connect with other software, and the automated ACME protocol support keeps website security certificates up to date without any manual effort.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

While the core SSL certificate management works well overall, the automated renewal limits on free certificates can be restrictive, and occasional delays during DNS validation sometimes slow down deployment workflows. I’d also appreciate more flexible pricing options for mid-tier needs.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to generate, automate, and manage SSL/TLS certificates. It solves website security complexities, eliminating cost barriers, manual renewal stress, and setup hassles. **What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

What I like most is how incredibly easy it is to use. I can generate a free SSL certificate in just a few minutes, and the whole process feels quick and hassle-free. The interface is very straightforward, so I can get in, do what I need, and get the job done fast.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The 3-certificate limit on the free tier feels a bit restrictive, and the interface pushes paid upgrades quite frequently. It would be nicer if the free plan offered slightly more flexibility for small projects.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves me a lot of time by simplifying the SSL creation and renewal process. Rather than dealing with complicated server setups, I can secure my websites quickly and keep everything protected, so my visitors get a safe browsing experience without any hassle.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I think the biggest benefit of ZeroSSL is its diversity from the certificate authority. There's a free tier, and it has a very good dashboard where you can monitor what's going on with your accounts or website traffic. I find the dashboard particularly useful for visualizing data and managing the expiry dates of certificates. It's straightforward to see who is accessing the site, and it provides good traffic visibility, which enhances security management. The platform is really great for managing certificates, with its wide range of options and the visibility of security across teams.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

You must generate external account binding credentials before ACME works

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL to ensure secure data transfer with SSL certificates, providing encryption between sites and enhancing security by authenticating data transmissions.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I love using ZeroSSL as it is beautifully designed and allows me to handle tasks easily and quickly. I appreciate its fast certificate issuance, easy domain validation, and simple certificate management, making securing websites quick and hassle-free. The initial setup was very easy, straightforward, and only took a few minutes, which is great when setting things up for my projects and hobbies. I also collaborative use ZeroSSL with Cloudflare and other web hosting platforms for managing SSL certificates, which works seamlessly. The switch from Let's Encrypt to ZeroSSL was worth it because the certificate management process is simpler and more convenient for me.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The interface could be a bit more intuitive, especially for managing and renewing multiple certificates.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL makes securing websites quick and hassle-free with fast certificate issuance, easy domain validation, and simple certificate management. It's fast, easy, and reliable.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

It simplifies the process of acquiring an SSL certificate by providing a web UI, which makes the overall setup more straightforward. I feel like for the price I get a good deal.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Automation isn’t free; everything has to be done through the web dashboard. Because the certificates are only valid for ninety days, I have to keep going back to the dashboard to regenerate a new certificate fairly often.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I couldn’t set up an SSL certificate through an alternative provider, mainly because of an error with their HTTP-01 challenge. However, with ZeroSSL I was able to use the DNS-01 challenge and verify my domain quickly.

  ### 22. Intuitive SSL Management, but the Free Tier Feels Limited

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I really appreciate how straightforward and intuitive the platform is. Generating and managing SSL certificates is incredibly simple, even for someone who isn't a security expert

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The free tier is quite limited compared to the paid plans. It would be great if some of the more advanced automation features were more accessible on the basic level

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL simplifies SSL certificate management by providing an intuitive platform that automates the issuance and renewal process. This benefits me by saving significant time, eliminating the risk of site downtime due to expired certificates, and ensuring my website remains secure and trusted, which helps improve both user experience and SEO rankings

ZeroSSL is a great way to get started with SSL certificates when you are at the beginning of a new business. The possibility of having a free option helps you build credibility while you are still on a moment of keeping expenses low. As you grow and decide to move to the next step, ZeroSSL has everything you need. Very friendly interface, easy to use and install. The performance is great, as well as the support.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

So far, I haven't faced anything I dislike.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I love that I don't need any technical skills or knowledge about SSL certificates when using ZeroSSL because it simplifies the whole process for me. It handles everything, so I don't have to deal with the complexity of creating a certificate myself. The integration of their REST API was also very helpful and stood out as a differentiating factor for me. It makes things super easy, and I barely have to get involved.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I think the limit on the free trial could be a bit better. There's a ninety day expiration period that could be prolonged to maybe six months or something. I think that could be more.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL simplifies obtaining SSL certificates, eliminating the need for technical skills or navigating complex processes. It automates the process, making it easier for me.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I use ZeroSSL because it provides full protection and features like quick validation, Acme integrations, and a REST API. I like that it is free, which is a big plus for me. The validation and setup tools are really useful, and I also appreciate the automation tools, developer and API tools, monitoring and security tools, management console, and core SSL certificate tools. Additionally, the initial setup was easy, even though I have to do it every ninety days because of the free certificate.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

It's not very simple for non-technical users. I find large-scale automation with many requests and wildcard certificates for simple HTTP validation challenging. There's an issue with shared hosting with weak DNS control, and sometimes legacy command line clients are installed wrong. I want to set it and forget it, but it requires more technical setup, like DNS APIs and EAB credentials. I also have to redo the setup frequently because I use a ninety-day free certificate.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ZeroSSL for full protection, and its quick validation and Acme integrations with a REST API are handy.

I like that ZeroSSL is flexible and that their SSL certificates are simple and effective. The initial setup was also very easy for me.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I would like to choose when to pay and have the ability to instantly cancel or suspend a month without having to restart from the beginning.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find ZeroSSL flexible, simple, and effective for managing SSL certificates.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I like that ZeroSSL can issue sub-domain wildcard certificates like *.test.example.com, which is pretty unique and not commonly available with other providers. This capability was the main reason for switching over from Let's Encrypt, as it solves the problem of issuing certs with wildcards.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Setup is a bit more complicated due to authentication. More plans would be nice.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ZeroSSL issues wildcard certificates like *.test.example.com, which other providers can't do, making it essential for us.

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

I tried out ZeroSSL to help our brokerage spend less money on our wildcard certificates. Not only was it much cheaper than our previous issuer, but the customer support has been awesome. I made some mistakes and needed guidance and assistance, and they were super responsive, and helped me with exactly what I needed.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I don't have many suggestions, just maybe more explanation for each step on what you're purchasing, installing, etc., for newbies like myself.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much cheaper option for SSL than our previous issuer.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you found ZeroSSL to be a much cheaper option for your wildcard certificates and that our customer support was awesome. We appreciate your feedback about providing more explanation for each step and will take that into consideration for future improvements.

  ### 45. The advertising is very deceptive - They are not an alternative for free SSL by any means

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

They have a nice easy to use console to manage and create your certs with. If you want to pay for certs, they have a nice environment.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

The stance they take on the "3 free certs" is quite different than what they lead you to believe. You get 3 free certs once, for life. That is you can get one free cert and renew it twice or in my case get 3 for just fun project domains, and when you go to renew them find out, oh, gee we gave you the 3 free ones. No renewals, time to fork over some money. This is in sharp contrast to them being compared to places like freessl that are actually free. If you are just starting out, I would suggest avoiding these people as they have proven they cannot be trusted.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I intended to use zerossl to provide free 90 days certs to a few small, personal websites that I operate. Signing up with them was fast and easy, generating the certs was fast and easy, sadly, I never got to even try them as I had an accident and was laid up for a while, and they expired. No problem I thought, I can either renew them now that I am on my feet again or regenerate them if I cannot renew them. This is where the problem with zerossl arose. They compare themselves with services that are truly free, but when zerossl says they will issue you 3 free ssl certs, they literally mean 3, no free renewals or regeneration of ones that have expired. You get 3 free certs for your lifetime from them. This is far from what some other places give you, totally free 90 certs for as long as you want to renew and deal with them every 90 days. Some of them even have the request, renewal, and install mechanized. Sadly my case is an odd web server and I am not able to use that service, and zerossl was able to give me certs to try and install manually.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We apologize for any confusion regarding our free SSL certificate offering. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services.

I have to say it all! I'm very happy with ZeroSSL. Very fast certificate creation (with email verification) and very simple implementation.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Nothing, in my opinion it is complete! I don't see any deficiencies in the service.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast support in business questions and the service never has problems! I am very satisfied.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

The site is intuitive, and easy to use, it's clear and the setup instructions are almost idiot-proof so even if you're new to setting up and integrating SSL certificates it's actually really easy on ZeroSSL.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

Revoked certificates count as part of your usage, but I sort of understand why, so be very careful when setting up certificates to ensure you've got all the right details! This comes under user-error really though, rather than an issue with the product.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Low cost and quick to set up, saves both money and time.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you find ZeroSSL intuitive and easy to use. We strive to make the setup process as simple as possible for all users, regardless of their experience level.

  ### 50. Reliable SSL certificate provider with ACME features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about ZeroSSL?**

ZeroSSL allows you to manually generate and renew certificates, or to generate and renew them using an ACME client (like Caddy web server, for example.) I most appreciate that I can manually generate 3-month or 1-year certs to use on non-ACME-compatible systems. It is much more cost effective and provides you with an intuitive dashboard to view the status of your certificates.

**What do you dislike about ZeroSSL?**

I believe they could improve the dashboard and the developer experience. There are some lacking features that would be loved, including having multiple API keys and improving the dashboard to show more information on a single page.

**What problems is ZeroSSL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unifying approach to managing SSL certificates across applications and systems. ZeroSSL has become a single pane of glass for all SSL certificates in our environment.

**Official Response from Bryson Perkins:**

> We're glad to hear that you appreciate our ability to manually generate and renew certificates, as well as our support for ACME clients. We will take your feedback about the dashboard and developer experience into consideration for future improvements.
