"Rock-Solid Streaming with Great Extensibility, Minor Setup Hurdles"
What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

Wowza Streaming Server is rock solid, we usually use it in every streaming event we do mainly as as a transcoder to feed Akamai CDN.

We also use it in some customer auction projects to stream real time feeds to clients.

We really appreciate the stability and quality of service, we never ever had a technical problem during the past 8 years of use.

We also appreciate extensibility with plugins and developers API we had the chance to use in some more specific use cases and scenarios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wowza Streaming?

Some custom optimizations require direct edit of configuration text files and are not 100% user friendly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A reliable media distribution solution"
What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

Snerpa has been using Wowza for years. What we appreciate most is that it is very stable and once set up you can literally forget about it. We use Wowza to distribute video streams from our live webcams as can be seen here. https://www.snerpa.is/allt_hitt/vefmyndavelar/ Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient Streaming, Needs User-Friendly Improvements"
What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

I really appreciate how Wowza Streaming allows me to stream to multiple platforms without manual intervention, which simplifies the broadcasting of my bible study classes significantly. The convenience of being able to stream seamlessly, including integration with my mobile app, is a standout feature for me. I also value its affordability and the compatibility it provides with the various platforms I use. These aspects make it a valuable tool for my streaming needs. What do you dislike about Wowza Streaming?

I find the user-friendliness lacking, making Wowza Streaming less intuitive to navigate. The ease of use is not satisfactory, leading to difficulties during initial setup, especially when transitioning services between different devices like desktops and laptops. Interaction and communication with customer support is not seamless, creating a barrier when assistance is needed. Furthermore, I face integration challenges, particularly when streaming through Zoom to multiple platforms, which requires additional support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best streaming solutions on the market"
What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

Honestly, Wowza just works. Once you get it set up, it's incredibly reliable for live streams and on-demand video, handling everything from small events to 24/7 channels without breaking a sweat. It plays nicely with any device or browser, which is a huge relief. I also love the flexibility - whether you run it on your own servers or use their cloud, and the APIs are great for integrating into custom setups. Plus, scaling up doesn't mean paying per stream, which saves us serious money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wowza Streaming?

Getting started can be rough - the setup is pretty complex, especially if you're new to streaming. The interface feels a bit dated, especially on mobile, and the licensing has a quirk: your license key isn't locked to your server IP by default, which could let someone else use it (happened to me once - support fixed it, but it was stressful). Direct support also costs extra, and overall, it’s pricey for smaller teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Decade and a Half with Wowza: A Testament to Excellence"
What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

I’ve been using Wowza Streaming Engine for over 10 years as part of my business. I sell live streaming services to clients around the world, some use it for church broadcasts, others for music events, or even 24/7 channels, and Wowza has always been the core of it all. What I really like is that it’s stable and reliable. Once it’s set up, it just runs.

That’s important when your clients depend on you and you can’t afford downtime. I also appreciate how flexible it is. I can configure it to fit different streaming setups and integrate it into my own system without being locked into some closed platform. It's not a toy, it's professional-grade, and it’s helped me make a living doing what I do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wowza Streaming?

There’s one thing I really think needs improvement: the license system. As it stands, the license key isn’t tied to a specific IP or server, so if someone gets hold of it, like a hacker, they can use it on their own server. This actually happened to me once, and I ended up with a surprise invoice that wasn’t even from my usage. Thankfully, Wowza support helped me fix it, but still, I shouldn’t have to worry about that. It would make much more sense to allow customers to lock the license to their server IP through the dashboard, like other platforms do.

Also, for people new to streaming, Wowza can feel a bit overwhelming at first. There’s a learning curve. But once you get past that, it’s a powerhouse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

I’ve worked with a variety of streaming platforms, and Wowza Streaming stands out for its exceptional performance and reliability. Whether you're deploying Wowza Streaming Engine on-premises or leveraging Wowza Streaming Cloud, the experience is consistently seamless.

Wowza empowers teams to deliver high-quality video and audio to any device, anywhere in the world. Its flexibility across deployment models and robust support for low-latency streaming make it an ideal solution for both live broadcasts and on-demand content. The platform’s scalability and integration capabilities, especially with cloud services and AI workflows, make it a powerful asset for any organization looking to elevate its streaming strategy. What do you dislike about Wowza Streaming?

The initial configuration of Wowza Streaming can be complex, especially for beginners. This involves setting up protocols, encoding settings, and server configurations with many choices that can be confusing on the outset. But once you get it working, it pretty much just works. "Wowza Delivers Seamless Streaming Performance"
What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

Wowza Streaming stands out for its flexibility and reliability. I appreciate how it supports a wide range of streaming protocols (HLS, RTMP, WebRTC, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wowza Streaming?

The learning curve can be steep, especially for users who are new to streaming technologies. While the platform is powerful, setting up advanced features like adaptive bitrate streaming or custom transcoding profiles requires technical knowledge and time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streaming Engine quick and easy"
What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

I was firstly introduced to Wowza by a friend who told me they had integrated the Streaming Engine into their platform. This intrigued me and led me to try it out myself. After reading the documentation, which really is just a two minute read, I was able to set the correct settings and it worked first time. Honestly, Wowza came at the right time for us and we are now in the process of integrating their APIs into our platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wowza Streaming?

The UI for the mobile view overflows the screen and the user experience (UX) looks rather old for such a well working product. I suppose this might be the flair - keep the product quick and simple, so the UI should be too? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A solid solution for our streaming content"
What do you like best about Wowza Streaming?

The setup and ease of use allowed us to quickly get our videos to our users. Most of the options we needed where there right from the get go. Once we got the hang of it, it was easy to implement things like a streamlock to secure our videos as well as some other checks to make sure our content is secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wowza Streaming?

Only a minor gripe as our team doesn't have a native Java programmer. So we had to come to grips with the basics of it to add some functionality to lock streams to only be allowed from specific URL's Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
