"A Very Modern Take on Interviewing"
What do you like best about Woven?

I have participated in technical interviews with companies that primarily emphasize mathematical problem-solving skills and familiarity with algorithms. As a senior software engineer, I frequently need to revisit topics I haven't used since college, even when applying for experienced roles. I believe that focusing on "Work Simulations" is a much better approach, as it demonstrates that I am truly capable of performing the tasks required in the job description, rather than just being theoretically qualified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

I understand that the challenge time constraints level the playing field, but I wish I was able to read through the question prompt before the timer starts. Often it took me 5-10 minutes to fully read and understand the prompt, but the challenge would only give me 20-30 minutes to complete it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Better Way to Showcase Real Engineering Skills in Interviews"
What do you like best about Woven?

The most challenging thing about modern tech interviews is the format in which they assess you being so heavily skewed towards data structures and algorithms, which no engineer uses on a daily basis unless they are actively interviewing.

Woven gives you a way to show what you can actually do as an engineering professional, so you are assessed on your merit and not on your memorization skills. With their assessments, I feel confident in my ability to demonstrate my value to an employer without having to cram study DS and A while maintaining a full time job. It makes me feel like I am actually putting all I am capable of towards the interview process, so whether I get an offer or not, I can feel like the employer actually got to see my skills and judge the fit on that.

I will always prefer a Woven assessment to any other style, and feel the are successfully fixing the broken engineering interview system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

I do feel some of the time boxed assignments are too short for the scope of the ask. Also, I wish some of the feedback around hidden tests was more detailed. And on the feedback, it would be cool if they had references for things you were weak on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A fair and realistic way to evaluate engineering skills"
What do you like best about Woven?

Woven makes technical assessments feel much more structured and fair compared to traditional interviews. I really like how the challenges focus on real-world engineering thinking instead of just trivia questions. The interface is simple to use, and the instructions for each task are clear, which helps reduce stress during timed exercises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

Some of the instructions can feel a bit intimidating at first because they emphasize time limits and restrictions heavily. It would be nice if there were more examples or practice modes before starting real challenges. Also, navigating between different challenge sections could be slightly smoother. "A Refreshing Approach to Technical Interviews"
What do you like best about Woven?

What I appreciated most about the interview process at Woven was its clarity and conciseness. The tasks presented were highly relevant to the job and not overly complex, and I particularly appreciated that expectations were clearly communicated at the beginning of the interview.

The feedback after the evaluation was also very helpful. Instead of simply stating whether I passed or failed, they provided specific feedback on my strengths and areas for improvement. Overall, I felt it was a fair and professional process that focused on evaluating actual skills rather than trying to trick candidates with difficult questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

My only reservation about Woven is that there isn't much opportunity for additional questions or discussion during the evaluation process. The assignments themselves are excellent, but especially when working alone without real-time feedback, it can be difficult to be sure you're fully understanding the intentions of the assignment creator.

Other than that, I have no complaints. Overall, the process is very smooth! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Woven Review for SEP Application !"
What do you like best about Woven?

I enjoyed using Woven because of the real-world problems it provides along with the IDE which supports several programming languages.

It also has a notes section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

It would be nice to be able to separate the notes window into a sub-window or separate panel/window within the UI.

I would suggest perhaps having some small problems to build up into bigger logical problems.

I believe 2 problems does not sound like much, but at first glance it can seem like a lot. (honestly it was not, the problems were straight forward, I did overthink/underthink in some areas)

However, this can put some pressure on interviewees. It could be wise and more effective to split problems into smaller problems or sections (ex Problem 1 has 3 or 4 mini problems and same going for Problem 2 -- or leave that up to the developer if it is something worth gauging. "Better than most interviews still worthless"
What do you like best about Woven?

The interview experience is generally practical and resembles real life on the job more than leetcode style interviews. This is definitely much more realistic than typical coding problems which repeat the same problems throughout industry. However, the very small window of time to complete each task is very unrealistic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

I would really appreciate a debugging solution with breakpoints. I would also appreciate more time to finish a quality response. I am a senior engineer with 9 years and I cannot complete the coding assessment how does that make sense Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Highly Relevant Technical Test Experience"
What do you like best about Woven?

I found the technical test very relevant. Another important aspect for me, was that care shown by the recruiter, Wes Winler. He wasn’t only concerned about why I hadn’t submitted the technical test, but he also understand my time constraints during those days. I really appreciate that. If I, as as candidate, was treated like this, I can only imagine how well I would be treated if I became an employee Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

I cannot say anything that I have disliked about Woven Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Focused Tech skill test."
What do you like best about Woven?

I like their tech skills test process.

The test challenges are thoroughly designed to evaluate how well a developer can perform in an actual working environment.

The assigned test deadlines are also very reasonable, though if you don’t stay focused, you will likely miss the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

I think they could implement an alert system in their test for when the time limit is near.

On the first question, I missed the time limit because I was so focused on the investigation, and I didn’t have enough time to compose my answers properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple assessment platform with smooth candidate experience"
What do you like best about Woven?

Woven is straightforward to use with a clean and intuitive interface, which made my assessment experience smooth and stress-free. The ease of implementation stood out since everything ran directly in the browser without extra setup, making it simple to get started. Their customer support was responsive, with clear instructions and timely emails that guided me through the process. While I only used it once for my own assessment, I can see how it would be valuable for frequent use in hiring pipelines. The platform has the core features needed to assess real-world skills and integrates seamlessly into the company's hiring workflow, so I never had to juggle multiple tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

Some of the assessment questions felt a bit generic, and the platform doesn't have as many advanced features as larger assessment tools. Also, integration with other tools could be smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transparent, Respectful, and Supportive Interview Experience"
What do you like best about Woven?

I took a Woven assessment as part of a job interview. As a candidate, I thought Woven was more transparent and respectful of my time than other interview platforms. Because I get human feedback from my attempt, it makes me feel like the company values my personal growth. It seems that they can accommodate a much wider array of assessments than typical LeetCode-style algorithm problems. My tasks were a written response after diagnosing a bug, and writing tests for a pre-existing code block (using a typical TypeScript framework).

Using alternatives like CodeSignal and HackerRank, it feels like "if I don't get maximum points, I've wasted an hour of my life", while with Woven I feel much less pressure and anxiety (even if the problems are of comparable difficulty)

They claim to be able to detect when candidates abuse AI tools using a different, potentially more accurate method than other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Woven?

I thought it was odd that the interviewee interface defaulted to the test results instead of the problem description. I certainly need to see the instructions before I can complete the task.

There was a noticeable delay between requesting tests be ran and the tests actually running, presumably so the backend could spin up a container. I wonder if integrating a solution like WebContainers would help here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
