# Where can a MEP engineer find the most accurate BIM objects for HVAC systems with models that manufacturers actually keep updated as products change?

For HVAC the accuracy that matters isn&#39;t the shape of the box, it&#39;s the connection points. A family can look exactly like the unit and still have a duct connection an inch off, or a wrong electrical knockout position, and that&#39;s what actually breaks coordination, because everything else in the model routes to those points. The shell being pretty is cosmetic. So my check for any downloaded equipment family: compare the connector locations against the manufacturer&#39;s submittal drawing, not the product photo. It takes five minutes and it&#39;s exactly the error the eye never catches in a 3D view.
