Windographer software is designed for importing, analyzing and visualizing wind resource data measured by met tower, sodar or lidar. It has advanced features for data loading from various types of loggers or measurement systems, a comprehensive tool for data cleaning (although it is still manual) and all the tools necessary to create long term time series representative of a site. There is also a database version of the application that works with SQL databases, so you can do all your work from within the application, once your data workflow is set. **What do you dislike about Windographer?** Not really a big issue, but the UI is now a bit outdated when you compare to web based applications. The application would benefit from a UI refactor, a cloud/web version and better interactivity with the graphics or between the various types of graphics you can use to visualize and process data. **Recommendations to others considering Windographer:** Consider using the SQL database version for increased efficiency and seamless workflow. **What problems is Windographer solving and how is that benefiting you?** The tool is definitely a must use for data cleaning and wind resource assessment (data comparison, extrapolation, shear calculation, etc.), especially ad-hoc analysis. It doesn't have many competitors that offer such a wide spectrum of tools in that domain. The database version is a huge time saver for data processing and storing. ### 3. I always like Windographer tool rather than other tool especially in this part. Turbine output estimater is very useful to a quick review about the site conditions. **What do you dislike about Windographer?** There is no point to dislike, 1. TI scaling can be add in our windographer it would be very useful for wind assessment team. 2. I would suggest in wind speed distribution analysis Weibull graph could include table view also along with histograms. 3.We could add other online data set like WRF, which is very useful in complex terrain and European data MCP analysis. 4. Most of the data types are automatically identified by the software. So this will save huge amount of time by reducing manual adjustments. The analysis of data such as turbulence, tower distortion, Extreme winds, etc. along with tools such as wind shear, Synthesize wind speed data, wind turbine output estimator, etc. are really useful. **What do you dislike about Windographer?** There is no provision for downloading resource data such as ERA_5, ERA, etc. directly but by using wind navigator.There can be provision for air density corrected wind speed. **Recommendations to others considering Windographer:** One can find all the required functions at their fingertips **What problems is Windographer solving and how is that benefiting you?** The compare data set and Measure Correlate Predict (MCP) tools are handy in comparing, correlating and predicting the long term wind speed and analysis. ### 13. Flagging mechanism works really well. **What do you dislike about Windographer?** The windographer database last time I used it was lackluster and incredibly slow. I think as more companies move towards storing their data on a databased, Windographer will have to upgrade.
