The validation-or-confirmation question is decided before the first call, in the screening criteria. Experts recruited to match your thesis will mostly confirm your thesis, not from dishonesty but from selection: you found the people for whom your assumption is already true. Teams that get real validation out of these platforms tend to deliberately screen for likely disagreers, like people who chose a competitor or churned from the category. The platform matters less than whether anyone on the team is willing to commission the uncomfortable calls.
