Recommendations to others considering WEM APAC:
Create an account and start playing with the platform. The account is free and development time doesn't cost anything. Go through the tutorials they have available to see how easy it is to build a basic system. Seasoned programmers will quickly see how much easier it is to develop here and will see where traditional coding is a thing of the past.
A couple of the questions asked here are not answerable just yet. We will do an official state-wide rollout to county sheriffs at the end of this month and other organizations after that. We will hopefully be able to report % of users adopting our solution and annual costs over the next year. Also, we have not had to utilize their support team yet so I can't give a rating there. What problems is WEM APAC solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our goal with WEM was to provide a single repository of animal welfare data for the entire State of Colorado to have access to. Many agencies have collected paper over the years or simple documents that aren't necessarily up to date. Our own investigators were carrying cases of business cards so they would have addresses and phone numbers to call when they needed assistance. The web version of our application has become a reality and we have a few agencies around the state starting to use what we are providing. We will have an offline native application available for iOS and Android in the coming weeks that will meet the needs of our remote locations that may not have cellular data available.
