The material library is so advanced, and it gives a realistic feeling after the final render. The quality of the render is more realistic . When it comes to VR it is easy to connect and easy to explore the model in VR without any hassle. **What do you dislike about VRed?** I hope VRED is for internal purposes in a design studio. File becomes heavy after a final process like Material update in 3D model. It isn't easy to share among teams, because of heavy file size. It is too costly to purchase , Because of this many people don't get a chance to explore the tool **What problems is VRed solving and how is that benefiting you?** VR and configurator Helped in may ways in design reviews. No we are not benefiting financially, because of Software cost. The real situations are created seamlessly with all the real time reflections and light properties. **What do you dislike about VRed?** There are a few terms and words in the software which we might not be familiar with. The user guide could explain each of these terms in detail to give us better understanding. **What problems is VRed solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently, we want to identify the intensify of the light falling on a particular object. For this, we are trying to create a plug-in using python. Creating plug-ins is easy in here. ### 4. Brilliant software. Easy to import models as it comes with proper grouping and hierarchy. I also loved that I could easily edit materials. **What do you dislike about VRed?** There are two things that I hated the most. 1) There are no current render farms. I whould love to have access to more basic environments like keyshot **What problems is VRed solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can do high quality renders in a short time, it's easy to work with the autodesk platform. It allows me to be more productive. ### 7. The quality is astounding. The integration with physical studio setups is top notch and the speed of the VRAY engine is very good. The materials editor is also quite powerful and when integrated with Illustrator you get a great solution for custom textures. **What do you dislike about VRed?** The learning curve is extremely steep and the interface is a bit esoteric. The hardware required to use this software regularly is pretty heavy duty (since the render engine is CPU based) - so be prepared to invest in a core-heavy system (e.g. Xeon). Another thing we're not thrilled with is that the updates are fairly frequent (not bad) but they are often gigs and gigs large (bad). **Recommendations to others considering VRed:** Jump in, GET TRAINING, and spend adequate time getting adjusted. The increase in performance based on familiarity is worth the time investment. **What problems is VRed solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use VRED to provide very high resolution, very high quality renders of our digital designs, prior to physical prototypes. You're likely using an in-born renderer for your pre-production work, but VRED has enabled us to create work that looks like magazine spreads long before we ever print or machine the first part. This photo-realistic system has enabled us to visually evaluate parts with our customers digitally allowing us to save money. ### 9. The flexibility of the program to manipulate the environment is super helpful. **What do you dislike about VRed?** Vred is limited with how much how can do within the given environment. **What problems is VRed solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has benefited me and my colleagues in terms of creating an imagery that is believable. ### 10. Vred has a good alternative texture wrapping as UVW, the triplanar. It's like a box wrapping with each directions fully editable. Environnement and lights can be set precisely without so much difficulties. You can easily switch between RayTrace and Standard mode to save CPU ressources during basics settings. Materials are easy to apply, and a standard map named "structure" directly inside every material to make them more realistic. For the rendering, a large choice of outpass is available, and almost all format can be render. **What do you dislike about VRed?** The interface is not so intuitive and panels are a bit difficult to handle with. A second screen is more than recommended. Final rendering settings are taken from the realtime mode, so you need to activate RealTime Raytracer before start final rendering. **Recommendations to others considering VRed:** As other Autodesk software, VRed is a bit difficult to handle at the beginning but really powerful when you start to have some habits. VRed is like than other softwares of this kind, so if you already know Keyshot or similar, you will be not lost. **What problems is VRed solving and how is that benefiting you?** I did lot of product rendering with it, but also transport design picture.
