"Great streaming software - for me the best"
What do you like best about vMix?

Stability, performance, functions, possibilities

For me it was the best streaming software then I testet the famous ones for my productive use several years ago.

I use it for every livestream. After I watched some tutorials I figured out how to use it - which is not really intuitive at first. But after understanding how the software works it is great to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vMix?

It is different so you really have to learn the UI. But then it is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Stability and resource consumption are minimal with an excellent tool and many options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vMix?

It is only available for Windows, and it cannot be used on Mac, and the integration with mobile devices is through third parties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to spin up and use even to someone new"
What do you like best about vMix?

vMix was our core braodcasting software, which allowed us to stream using 2 to 4 camera setups. It was easy to use and switch beteen the cameras, and we were able to use super imposed scoring and live commentary which was sent to a Wowza Streaming engine as this supported connectivity to the same. The license cost was a bit towards the high side but hte investment was all returned within a span of just 1 month as we used to live stream upto 20 matches within a calendar month. All were local sports games which were 1 - 8 hours of play (Rugby and Cricket). We didnt have any support requirements as everything was smooth in terms of setting things up to usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vMix?

Nothing to note as it was all super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"vMix and Zoom is a great combo!"
What do you like best about vMix?

I like that it has the ability to utilize multiple cameras as well as videos, slideshows, and pictures all in one program. It is versatile and adaptable to my needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vMix?

It's sometimes difficult to figure out how to do what I want in vMix. While it is highly adaptable, I've had to do lots of research to figure out how to make those adaptations. And that's fine, but sometimes I'd just like it to be a bit simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"vMix Review"
What do you like best about vMix?

I love the versatility of vMix. We use it in multiple different environments, and it can adapt to our needs. I am yet to find something that it doesn't do that I would like it to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vMix?

I dislike that it often requires you to restart vMix after doing some settings changes. If you change some settings mid-show and then you have to restart it, it can become annoying. Not all setting changes require a restart. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Livestreaming Platform with a Learning Curve"
What do you like best about vMix?

The source inputs and outputs have a great deal of variety. Additionally, its many features allow you to do a great deal with live streaming. It broadcasts fairly seamlessly with several platforms and has a very smooth interface (once you get past the learning curve). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vMix?

The tool has a fairly steep learning curve (as do many other live streaming tools), so you'll have to get past that hurdle before you're able to leverage the software effectively. Additionally, it is a bandwidth hog (as are most live streaming services), so be sure to have a strong connection before pushing things live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My First Choice for a Live Stream Solution"
What do you like best about vMix?

I like producing a live stream using both live speakers and prerecorded segments easily through this broadcast platform. I always recommend having the vMix operator control all content, including waiting room countdown videos, rather than using a separate person to run content on the platform where the content is streaming, Zoom, for example.

The green room option gives speakers a place to connect and discuss the content before the live stream begins. That's especially helpful if a particular speaker cannot join us for the tech set-up ahead of the live event start. They can log into vMix and be added to the green room before their segment begins. This scenario has been a recurring one with the live events I produce that often involve people from different time zones and even other countries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vMix?

The limited seat count (8) on vMix has been an issue for productions involving more than eight speakers. If they're not all appearing simultaneously, it can mean multiple people must share the same link at different times during the live stream. It also means I am unable to remain on vMix if a production has eight speakers. For rehearsals, I will remain on vMix as a producer/director but then must move to another platform on live event day. This forces me to communicate with my vMix team through other means during the live stream, such as texting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
