Vessel changed the way I think about investor engagement. We've always put a lot of work into our quarterly reports, but now LPs don't have to wait for that cycle or come to me directly — they log in anytime and see exactly where they stand: capital drawn, outstanding calls, the metrics that matter to them, right up front on their own customized landing page. Compared to other portals we've used, the interface is just cleaner. Others felt like document databases; Vessel is an actual interactive tool, and our LPs call it slick and intuitive. What do you dislike about Vessel? Very little. New features sometimes arrive faster than we can adopt them — a good problem to have — and whenever we need anything, the team is right there. Across multiple funds, we were emailing reports manually in batches to different contacts at each LP — and still hearing that people hadn't received what they needed. When we launched our fourth fund, it was clear the old process had become antiquated. Now we upload once, tag by LP role, and investors serve themselves on their own timeline. Our latest quarterly reporting was night and day — tight, efficient, painless. Onboarding was so fast we never disrupted our reporting cycle. It’s made on-boarding new LPs a seamless process and capital calls incredibly easy. It’s given me way more time back when it comes to fund and LP management. Plus, I love that the LPs can access the latest updates and their data anytime they like. Our portfolio companies find it great and quick for reporting. I love working with the Vessel team, they are so helpful and responsive and have an incredible vision for the product. It’s made all our internal processes so much faster and more scalable. It created a great looking fund overview, was easy to setup the data room with the right permissions and prospective LPs found it easy to navigate, indicate commitments and also complete subscription agreements. It made it easy to keep on top of where prospective LPs were in their evaluation process too and manage those relationships properly. It streamlined our fundraising process. We’ve expanded our use to their reporting tools. Now, all of our fund and portfolio reporting is in this one platform. They’ve automated a lot of our reporting processes and LP communications. They have cutting edge AI tools that make gathering fund and portfolio data so easy with high accuracy. The product and ease of use keeps getting better and better. We reviewed several portals before choosing one. Most of them are larger and more established, and Vessel came out on top. The software is genuinely intuitive and easy to use, and the team behind it is excellent. What I value most is that every one of our LPs now has a single, secure place to find everything that's relevant to them. We publish a capital call or a report once, and every investor is notified automatically. No more emailing documents out one by one, no more encrypted ZIP files for the LPs who needed that extra security; it's all built into the platform now. For a lean team running seven funds, that's been a real unlock. The other standout is the team. They actually incorporate our feedback into their roadmap, and that responsiveness has made the whole relationship feel like a partnership rather than just a vendor. We went from one fund to seven pretty quickly, and our old process fell apart fast. We were still prepping capital calls in Word and Excel, emailing them out to each investor individually. Some LPs wanted everything encrypted, some weren't seeing updates at all, and we had no way to keep it all organized. Vessel solved that problem completely. Now we post a capital call once and it goes out to everyone. Tax docs and reports sit in one place where each LP just sees what's theirs. What used to eat up hours every fund cycle is now basically automatic. The thing we didn't expect is how much it changed how our investors see us. We're a lean team running seven funds, so we can't afford to look unorganized. Vessel made us look really professional and a few of our LPs have actually sent other GPs our way because of it. Since we started using Vessel, we've doubled our co-invest volume, which has been a huge unlock for us. The biggest thing for me is that each of our LPs has their own personalized dashboard where they can see their deployed capital, their called capital, and all their documents. So when they call us, we can tailor the conversation to them right away. And on our side, we can actually see who's engaging with our materials, which means we're spending our time following up with the LPs who are genuinely interested. What problems is Vessel solving and how is that benefiting you? Vessel has really fixed two big things for us. The first is LP reporting. Before, we'd send out quarterly reports by email, and they were the same for every LP, no personalization. Now every LP has their own dashboard with metrics that correspond to their investment, which has made our IR conversations so much more productive. The second is co-invest. We used to run our SPVs over email, phone calls, and even WhatsApp, which meant we could really only offer co-invest to LPs we already knew. Once we moved everything onto Vessel, we were able to open co-invest up to a much wider pool of investors, and that's how we doubled our volume. It's also become a top-of-funnel for the main fund, because a lot of co-invest LPs will jump on a Vessel page, get excited about a company, and then come back to us asking about the fund. I think Vessel is really easy to use, both in the backend and the user interface. It's super modern, and the UI and UX are both great, making it extremely intuitive. It's fast, and any changes you make are visible right away. Although it's semi-flexible, it's still a great platform. I would say it's the sections where we build out company profiles that could be more flexible. More types of content, a bit more flexibility. The second thing is that we want the ability to hide the content hub. And another thing is that we want to add more information to our investor's profile, like the Vessel passport. The platform is simple and intuitive, so reviewing materials and completing the paperwork didn’t take much time. Everything felt organized and easy to follow.
