I looked at and tested a lot of estimation in CRM programs, and I found the UDA construction online to be the most thorough and put together. The estimation program was very well, especially with the cost books and assemblies. The red line takeoff is versatile and also integrated. One of the things I've been doing over the years is a specific type of range budget presentation for estimates to my client. Reports, although very good from UDA, don't work for me, and I have to export the budgeting report from UDA to a spreadsheet, and then build them into my custom forms. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of reports and information that can be pulled out of UDA, but we're just not using all of them. It also takes a while to build up to being able to use the entire program, and there's no downside from UDA. It's just a learning curve for us and our systems. I moved from UDA Construction Suite which tied me to the server back at the office which caused a delay while entering information or trying to print reports. Once I got used to the new user interface I could enter information faster. I am using Online daily and being able to log in anywhere allows me to help with questions even when not in my office. For me some of the functions I used in Construction Suite are not available in the online version. Having to find new ways to accomplish the same function took some time. But the support from the company helped navigate this issue. Our version of Construction Suite was too old to move projects to Online, this sounded worse than it turned out to be. UDA Construction Online is a very robust project management software that takes the client from the initial contact all the way through the final project payment. The client and team portals are very easy to use and help keep the team informed and involved throughout the project. From initial client lead, creating an opportunity, estimating the project and generating the proposal to writing project change orders could not be any easier! Training a new PM in the UDA system is very easy with a very short learning curve. We have been using UDA since 2009 and UDA has continued to improve their software to keep up with new features and our client needs. Least favorite part of CO is that some features like exporting logs or reports, have a bit limited access in customization. For example, exporting RFI, it would be helpful to have more control over what data gets included or filtered. However, I've found that the support team (especially Carly!) is always receptive to feedback, and it feels like the platform is continuously improving based on our inputs. I really need the AIA Billing Documentation. Pro-Core has this awesome feature and UDA just hasn't got this figured out.
