This reviewer was offered a nominal gift card as thank you for completing this review. **Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2018 **What do you like best about TreePlotter PARKS?** Experts: I work in the Yellow Community Parks Program. The State is providing Parks Plotter at no expense to Idaho urban areas with the goal that a statewide tree stock is created. It's easy to train volunteers or workers to use, it's cloud-based including photos of the individual trees. Furthermore, the reports generated from stock results offer truly necessary information that impacts urban forestry management and planning decisions. The accuracy of the GPS coordinates is fabulous, this helps for street trees, as well as for locating trees growing in parks and greenways. Data collection can be done using any device that has an internet connection, eliminating the need for expensive equipment such as a Trimble. **What do you dislike about TreePlotter PARKS?** Parks Plotter uses Bing or Google maps. It's been my experience that either contains more current imagery. However, when you log on to collect data, Bing maps are the default map, though Google maps might be more up-to-date. I'd like it if there were a way to set the default to whichever map is more useful. Additionally, at least in the Parks Plotter program, when collecting DBH data, only even inch measurements can be recorded. Measuring growth over time, especially in younger trees, requires measurements to the 1/10th of an inch to accurately assess how vigorously a tree is growing. **Recommendations to others considering TreePlotter PARKS:** You only need a smart device and a network connection. Also, if you have any problem, you only have to contact technical support. **What problems is TreePlotter PARKS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having used this software for the past four and a half months, I can say that Parks Plotter has a considerable amount of potential for everyone from foresters to college students. However, there are still glitches that occur due to it being an internet browser program. Often the page freezes and needs to be reloaded, which loses the current location and any data being entered. Additionally, the need for an internet connection makes it a challenge for some to use. Finally, with the zoom level being 100 ft maximum off the ground, it is usually difficult to see where you wish to place the icon, and when there are forests of trees, this becomes nearly impossible to do, and also to analyze later due to so many icons in close proximity (essentially over one another). Having the ability to enter coordinates obtained in the field back into the software while on a PC would be extremely beneficial for crowded locations (instead of clicking on the locations).
