A powerful deny-by-default allowlisting solution that makes application control simple and fast. Only approved software runs, everything else, including ransomware, is blocked by default.
ThreatLocker Platform Demo - Ringfencing
With ThreatLocker proprietary Ringfencing application containment technology, you allow trusted apps to run. Yet, you let them interact with the specific files, registry keys, network resources, or other applications they actually need. Thus, you add a critical layer of control, ensuring apps can...
ThreatLocker Platform Demo - Privilege access management
Minimize the risks of local admin privilege abuse by assigning administrative rights at the application level, not the user level. This allows users to run approved applications with elevated privileges, without ever needing full local admin access.

"Zero-Trust Security Made Simple"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

ThreatLocker Platform is incredibly easy to use, even with the addition of new products over the years. I appreciate how simple it is to train my employees thanks to the intuitive design. The unified dashboard that allows access to all modules is great, with a consistent look and feel that makes tasks straightforward. I also have total confidence in the platform's ability to keep my customers' data safe, which allows me to rest easy at night. The onboarding support from my Account Manager and solutions engineer has been invaluable, and they truly help in getting everything set up without a hitch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

ThreatLocker is constantly adding new features and enhancements. Working on these new features can create a bit of a learning curve as it is a different way of thinking about security and we are also always finding new ways to improve our security posture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Zero Trust with Full Control and Seamless Setup"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I like the application control aspect of ThreatLocker Platform and the fact that it uses a Zero Trust method to prevent unknown execution or installation of software. With the application control, I get a wealth of information about what application is trying to run, where it’s running from, and what the application can do, such as talk to the internet or access other files. The zero trust method gives me full control, ensuring no application will run in my environment unless I approve of it first. I would say the initial setup, based on learning through their University, is pretty seamless, and ThreatLocker has an amazing team that helps make the process easier. What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

I find it a bit troublesome how created policies are handled and applied depending on whether they are on a flat or hierarchical basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unmatched Security and Stellar Support"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I've been in the MSP world for over 20 years, and there is no other vendor I have encountered like ThreatLocker. I love that the support is great, with live chat available, and they provide support right there on the spot every time. You get a dedicated solutions engineer who is also the CPO of the company, and he's great. You can even talk to the CEO, Danny Jenkins, ask any questions, express your opinion or experience, and they will take feedback seriously and make things happen for customers if it makes sense. The culture is awesome, with very humble people, and every staff member is great and willing to help. Their modules work differently from other competitors, and I appreciate how easy the initial setup was. With an assigned solutions engineer, they do it with you and walk you through it live, and their KBs are helpful. Application Control and Ringfencing are unlike anything out there. In a nutshell, it controls what can run, what apps can do, and where data can go. It allows me to sleep better at night knowing that if a bad actor somehow makes it through the other security tools, ThreatLocker is the dead end for them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

There is absolutely nothing I dislike about ThreatLocker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Zero Trust Security with Easy Setup"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I really value the Application Control and Network Control features of the ThreatLocker Platform. Application Control simplifies creating an automated allowlist of applications and ensures we explicitly approve any apps, which is great for security. Network Control provides more secure access to organizational resources without the need for a VPN. The initial setup was very easy thanks to learning mode options and baselining, which allowed us to try out the platform for a group of computers before deploying it organization-wide. I rate it a 10 and highly recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

I would like to see more support Network Control options for allowing access to a ThreatLocker secured computer from a non-ThreatLocker assigned computer. For now, we can only limit access to a resource by IP address but possibly implementing this with a preshared key or MFA could help secure access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Defense with Intuitive GUI"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I appreciate how granular the logs are on the ThreatLocker Platform, as they show not only what file was run but also what process started it, along with certificate details and the hash. This makes it easy to identify if it matches the vendor's files without additional hidden changes. The audit function allows me to see every process that has run on the computer in a format that's more consumable than Windows logs. I also find the GUI to be easy to use when enabling applications intended to run. The setup was simple, and I like that it scales to the number of applications running on devices. It's a valuable second layer of defense against cyber threats and works well as part of our layered defense strategy, identifying configurations to set up in conjunction. What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

You have to properly configure policies. Without proper use of ringfencing to control what applications a program can access, you could potentially have a mismatch to intended restrictions from a policy configured. You need to know the effective ways to learn new programs without making devices vulnerable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Game-Changer for Application Control and Security"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I use ThreatLocker Platform primarily for application control, ensuring our clients' data is secured. I really like how it simplifies managing logs into one easily manageable location rather than manually reviewing them across different organizations. It's undoubtedly better than any other similar tools I've used before. The application control gives us insights into programs and files running on our client's computers and can even identify malicious files that initially appear safe. The network control and policy control features have been a huge help, especially without needing a domain. The integration with our Kaseya stack, providing alerts for application approval requests, has been beneficial. The initial setup was seamless with the help from the Cyber Hero team, and the Learning Mode has been great for gathering all necessary applications. Finally, I have to mention that the in-depth courses and regular trainings they offer make using the tools much easier to learn and manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

Honestly I don't have any huge complaints about Threatlocker. Anything that I have issues with is not a configuration thing done by them that needa to change but rather something that I have not learned yet. They provide plenty of courses and live training to make sure these concepts are not lost on us though Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Security Tool with Simple Implementation"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I really like how ThreatLocker Platform has become a standard part of our security stack for clients. It's especially impressive because it lets us catch fileless malware and other threats that traditional antivirus/anti-malware solutions might miss. Implementing it was very easy, and it's given us a lot of confidence in our security. One of my favorite features is its ability to stop unwanted applications from ever running, instead of just hoping to catch the bad ones. It also allows us to build a consistent configuration across multiple users, ensuring everyone uses the same applications. The initial onboarding and setup process was very straightforward, and our solutions engineer provided support every step of the way. All in all, I would give it a perfect rating, and I highly recommend it to friends and colleagues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

I would love to see a "learning mode" for ringfencing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Instantaneous Policy Enforcement and Comprehensive Control"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I really like that when I create a deny policy with the ThreatLocker Platform, it takes effect instantaneously. This is a big plus, especially when compared to Microsoft Defender, which takes up to four hours for a block indicator to propagate through the system. I can block an IOC provided from a malicious attack, and it gets blocked immediately, within a minute or so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

I wish there was a feature where you could allow elevation to admin just a single time as opposed to time-based. But after attending the ThreatLocker conference, I was told by their employees that they will be implementing this feature, so that we could elevate the program to admin just a single time as opposed to for a minimum of an hour. "Unmatched Application Control, but Noisy"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I love that ThreatLocker Platform is a one-of-a-kind solution for application control, especially since there aren't many options that excel in allowing only pre-approved applications. It's our first layer of defense and does a brilliant job in protecting our clients. It has effectively prevented multiple clients from being affected by malware. I appreciate how over time, as we got the initial setup sorted, it has become smoother and more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

It can be too noisy and can be frustrating for the users. If it can find an easier way to approve printer driver tickets and some apps like QuickBooks, users need to do it every time, even when there is a small update. It was initially taxing because of the amount of tickets we get but over time, it has gotten better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless App Allowlisting with Stellar Support"
What do you like best about ThreatLocker Platform?

I really like the ThreatLocker Platform's UI; it's very good and easy to use, making navigation and management simple from a leadership perspective. The product works as intended, and the cyber hero support is great. Whenever I have questions or minor problems, the cyber hero team provides excellent responses with phenomenal communication skills. The initial setup was very easy with no issues, and the ThreatLocker team's support was very helpful. I appreciate knowing the folks at ThreatLocker and like where the company is headed with their leadership and features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ThreatLocker Platform?

I would like the reporting to offer easier to read metrics for different audiences. If I need to create a report for one group, it looks the same as the other others. And I would like to be able to tailor reports depending on if it’s another leader, practitioner, or other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
