Why? Because so many teachers at my school jumped on board with the program that our school is going to utilize it across the board next year and actually pay for the product! THAT's how useful and easy it is, even for stressed-out urban teachers. **What do you dislike about ThinkWave Educator?** The only problem that I had is when you have a class with one or two co-teachers, you have to give them your username and password because I couldn't find a way to link classes with co-administrators/co-owners of a class. **Recommendations to others considering ThinkWave Educator:** Try it out for one semester; I'd put money down that you'll become a convert! **What problems is ThinkWave Educator solving and how is that benefiting you?** Thinkwave Educator provides a common tool that gives continuity to our learning community. Previously, teachers were utilizing a variety of methodologies to keep track of assessments. Now, we can all email grade reports to parents and students alike -- and even hypervigilant administrators. ### 2. I like that you can grade by a point system or percentages. I like the flexibility of the program. It makes it easy to keep grades in order and my syllabus on track. **What do you dislike about ThinkWave Educator?** The software isn't completely intuitive at first it takes about a week of getting used to. **What problems is ThinkWave Educator solving and how is that benefiting you?** Grading papers and student amongst a school setting. ### 3. Thinkwave: Online Class Management Platform **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Maureen L. | Latin Teacher, Primary/Secondary Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2018 **What do you like best about ThinkWave Educator?** The platform allows for multiple classes with semesters, and the teacher can choose who can view grades, attendance, etc. You can also choose between using a point system or a percentage system for grading. You can give each assignment a different value, and each assignment can be assigned a date and a time. **What do you dislike about ThinkWave Educator?** If percentages could be mixed with points in the grading system, that would be very helpful. Right now, I can choose between a point system and a percentage system, but I cannot combine the two systems. Also, it would be great if I could create a midterm grade average without closing out the grade book for that quarter. My students also would prefer a system that is integrated with Google or their email. It is difficult for them to remember a new username and password. **Recommendations to others considering ThinkWave Educator:** This would be great for educators who have a set quarter or semester system, and they grade using just percentages or just points. I have never kept a more detailed gradebook report and I thank this company for creating such a useful tool. **What do you dislike about ThinkWave Educator?** It's difficult to switch a student from one class to another; I've had problems just switching a student from one period to another. Kind of a headache. **What problems is ThinkWave Educator solving and how is that benefiting you?** ThinkWave Educator allows me to communicate with parents and students and maintain transparency around assessments and grading systems in my class. Both the student learner and parent are able to get real time reports or login to see student performance results with short anecdotal feedback. ### 5. I'd like to be able to contact one parent. There is also an assignment submission feature, but it has not worked when I have tried to implement it. I would love a feature to add assignments and agendas for my classes. **Recommendations to others considering ThinkWave Educator:** If you are looking for a basic and simplistic program to do the minimum administrator tasks for education, then I would recommend ThinkWave. It is great for a small school or a new school that is working to be proactive in communication. **What problems is ThinkWave Educator solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do not have to record grades in a grade book. I can enter them as soon as I've completed grading assignments. ### 6. Once you find it, make sure to bookmark it. **Recommendations to others considering ThinkWave Educator:** Find how to upload forms and NEVER forget. Bookmark it because it's the one thing my teachers keep forgetting how to do! **What problems is ThinkWave Educator solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are implementing all our grading and student registration.
