It allows us to audit batches remotely, which is important to my role. I like that it can be integrated into Excel for more customizable analyses. I haven't had any trouble with the system, but I'm not involved in behind-the-scenes work. **What do you dislike about The PI System?** Some parts of the online portal aren't the most intuitive in terms of UI and UX, but that's fairly minor given it's not the main incentive to use it. **What problems is The PI System solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows us to collect and store plant data from all of our sites. You can modify a point in PI. This enables us to proactively conduct studies and provide recommendations to replace certain instrumentations before they malfunction due to aging or sensor failures. ### 14. OSIsoft is also very good for pushing for cybersecurity. **What do you dislike about The PI System?** OSIsoft is in the middle of migrating almost all of their old programs to newer ones, so it is difficult to decide whether to use a PI program or wait for the replacement. Both the old and new programs are also very buggy. You will need to contact tech support a lot for this. I can't imagine what it is like to not have the Enterprise agreement. **What problems is The PI System solving and how is that benefiting you?** Getting real-time data from secure networks onto our business network. Much better than our old way of having to log into the secure computers every day just to get data. ### 16. Processes are now more streamlined, and the company have more visibility into what is happening on the production floor. ### 17. Much of the special features I did not know until a separate training class had been performed years after working with the tools. **Recommendations to others considering The PI System:** I would recommend a training class or watching some videos on how to make use of all of the tools that PI processbook has to offer. It took me several years before I was able to learn how many tools PI processbook had to offer. **What problems is The PI System solving and how is that benefiting you?** Just being able to pull in data to track improvements and see how the process is running on a daily basis. Great tool to be able to show cost reductions or prove that a new project needs to be implemented to solve a problem. ### 19. Database is very strong and reliable. Easy to access from any of its apps and addings. It is fast with a good network. I take a lot of data from the database in a couple of minutes. Timing graphs are very good when showing data, it is easy to change scales and compares two or more tags. **What do you dislike about The PI System?** PI Processbook is not very friendly to build views, graphs could also be improved, it is not easy to modify graph properties, and types. To represent a tag in front of other only is possible with a few data, it is not valid for showing one year data. Web should also be improved. There is not adding for google at the moment, so data can not be extracted from it. Access from web does not have the same futures as local tools. **Recommendations to others considering The PI System:** Very good system, database is one of the most powerful. Excel adding is easy to use for data analysis. PI Processbook is not so intuitive, it is complex to draw, graphs should be improved with more options. **What problems is The PI System solving and how is that benefiting you?** From operation point of view. Process control tuning, and efficiency analysis of process and machines, perform complex calculations. From the reporting point of view monthly and quarterly production reports, including production, efficiency and reliability information . Trend analysis and process following to detect and take decisions on predictive maintenance. ### 20.
