Since the refresh/upgrade a few months ago it's also somewhat more responsive, which is good. It's always good to know that as it's cloud-based the plugins are always the most recent version, as are any fixes to any aspect of it. I am a little concerned that repeated scans tend to cause some findings to appear and disappear, but that is something I'm taking up with Tenable Support at the moment, who seem to be fairly responsive, if a little slow to take RFEs on board. **What do you dislike about Tenable Vulnerability Management?** As mentioned previously, there is a slight concern about findings which appear in one iteration of a scan vanishing when the same scan is run again. We're trying to pin down if it's our fault or Tenable's at the moment. The GUI, as already also mentioned can be a bit confusing and frustrating when trying to drill down to a specific plugin, host, or other specific item. What probably frustrates us the most is the amount of false positives because of the lack of joined-uppedness when it comes to talking to vendors about the concept and execution of backporting, and therefore how version numbering is not the be-all and end-all of vulnerability identification. **What problems is Tenable Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** TVM helps us maintain a more secure estate. The platform provides deep visibility, clear remediation guidance, and a very user-friendly interface that makes it easy to prioritize and act on vulnerabilities. Support from SentinelOne has also been outstanding — responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive in addressing questions or issues. Also, deployment is a snap. **What do you dislike about Tenable Vulnerability Management?** The only drawback I've encountered is around asset licensing management. It would be helpful to have more granular controls for excluding non-relevant or "ghost" assets, such as IoT or VOIP devices, from consuming licenses. Enhancing this capability would make an already excellent product even better. The app has great filtering capabilities as well as tagging, allowing you to compartmentalize sites and services into containers that you can scan and report on separately. **What do you dislike about Tenable Vulnerability Management?** It's annoying to create user accounts where they do not share the same domain as you. We take care of a lot of different sites and want to allow users to login to view their vulnerabilities but this limitation makes it difficult. I have to put in a ticket every time I want to add a new user's domain. The cost of web application scanning is much higher than normal licensing. **What problems is Tenable Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tenable vulnerability management allows us to scan internal and external assets every day/week/month on demand or on schedule. The findings and vulnerabilities are stored for months and allows you to see the history of vulnerability for a particular asset, which is very helpful. The fact that the solution to exploits is listed right next to the vulnerability overview, it makes remediation a lot easier. The number of plugins covers a wide variety of systems and possible exploits. SAML / SCIM integration is another plus and was fairly easy to setup. Implementation of scanning via its Nessus agents was a breeze. **What do you dislike about Tenable Vulnerability Management?** The plugin manager could use some work. There are often several plugins that do the same thing or just plugins that do not provide the functionality that they claim. Additionally, some of the exploits that are not exploitable and can cause false positives. For example if I have a HTTPS exploit on a version of a router / switches firmware, but HTTPS management is turned off and only SSH management is used, then that exploit does not need to be listed as high. **What problems is Tenable Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** Provides vulnerability insights for servers and user endpoints with a fairly lightweight agent. Adding functionality like more reporting, dashboards, and remediation scans. We stay current on their suggested best practices, unfortunately, too many other users did not update to newer and improved functionality and they provided old and new methods of tagging\grouping too long - confusing for new users to know what to use - I believe this is being cleaned up now. **What problems is Tenable Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** Scanning, reporting, and checking on remediation progress. The deployment was easy. If I get a vulnerability it will show me which devices were affected and how many devices. The remediation steps are great, it gives you collected information about the vulnerability and the remediation steps. Very detailed information about the asset like, IP, vulnerability count by severity, asset criticality rating, asset exsposure score, scan information. Can Run custom scans for the assets. Can run scan is my devices complied for CIS benchmarks etc. very handy tool to improve your enterprise security posture. Super easy to use because instructions are included on the platform. Much easier than Microsoft Defender. The threat intelligence what the software has is exceptional. They got very good trainings and webinars. On Tennable University you can get free and quality tranings, if you want to get certificate you get as well (not for free). Very rarely getting false positive vulnerabilities. Often Tenable software's are on the top in independent tests so you can trust their tools are great. **What do you dislike about Tenable Vulnerability Management?** You can make literally endless amount and variations of the dashboard but I quite miss more graphs that shows in the timeline the vulnerability count for the asset, for the asset. Some of the changes made it harder to use it, but I sent feedback, so we will see. Some reason almost every day for the website is super slow, or down for a few minutes for me. Could be quite annoying. Some of the dasboard data is not updating requrarly, but i was told on the support it is a known issue so I hope very soon it will remediated. Scan speeds/resource utilization at times Have to switch between interfaces to access certain functionality Quite expensive. **What problems is Tenable Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** First, found out what vulnerabilities, and security issues are on assets and after it can helps to mitigate the vulnerabilities. Having full access to the data in a dashboard makes searching it easy. Roles within the system allow for access and role-based controls for viewing or running scans. Their support is fast and knowledgable. IO also has Nessus Network Monitor which is a great tool for being able to find IoT or MIoT devices the scanner may have ignored (due to scan settings - another plus). Tenable also provides it's own severity ratings which don't dismiss the CVSS, but provide a more realistic view of the severity in the CVE vs real-world exploitation. **What do you dislike about Tenable Vulnerability Management?** The only thing I dislike may not actually be an issue with Tenable.io itself. I wish they'd add a Meraki hook for credentialed scans. Currently, we can use SMNP just fine though. **What problems is Tenable Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had no vulnerability scanning or management when I started. Tenable allowed us to quickly set up a scanner and start reporting issues which helped us build out our VTM policies and standards.
