Navigates the disparate sales tax reporting systems of individual states so you don't have to. The only call to action is when your e-com sales activities create a nexus with a new state. TaxJar handles most of the work so you can stay focused on building and managing your store. The links in the email notifications take you to where you need to go to accomplish something new, but most of the work it does for you in the background. The integration with Shopify streamlines everything. It's just another user-friendly app. It keeps you current on all your taxes. Come tax time, your sales tax work is already done. The bigger your store gets, the more value you get from the monthly fee. Onboarding is organized and goal oriented. The performance is great. I love how easy it is to use TaxJar, even for those without much prior knowledge, making it the basic USP I appreciate. There have been a few instances where I noticed issues with city tax filing. TaxJar's functionality works well for state and county taxes, but in some cities, city taxes weren't addressed in the original setup. I like that TaxJar helps us verify our sales tax setup instead of guessing. It provides us with address, jurisdiction, and tax rate information that we can compare against SAP. TaxJar is valuable because it helps us double-check our SAP tax setup by validating the ship-to address, confirming the correct city/county/state jurisdiction, and showing the tax rate breakdown. This allows us to identify incorrect tax codes, rate mismatches, missing rates, or addresses that require manual review. Although it’s not perfect every time, it has been very useful for our sales tax validation process, especially for checking addresses, jurisdictions, and rates against what we have in SAP. Sometimes we still need to manually review results when there is a missing rate, a rate mismatch, or an address that does not validate clearly.
