When used as a data pipeline tool, it enables sub-second latency replication between 100+ data sources & targets, especially from Oracle, MSSQL, DB2 etc. When used as a data hub, it syncs data from any data sources into a centralized data platform, powered by MongoDB/Atlas, to enable downstream applications to access up-to-date and consistent data from a single location, with RESTful API or direct data access. ## Tapdata Live Data Platform Reviews ### 1. For basic data transformations, no coding is required, which greatly streamlines the process and reduces the learning curve. Additionally, Tapdata offers a wide variety of connectors, ensuring that we can easily integrate data from numerous sources both now and in the future. This flexibility and ease of use have been pivotal in helping us efficiently migrate data from SQL Server to MongoDB Atlas, build a comprehensive Customer 360 view table, and publish APIs quickly for our new applications. **What do you dislike about Tapdata Live Data Platform?** While Tapdata Live Data Platform has many strengths, there are a few areas that could be improved. The error logging system could be more robust, as it can sometimes be challenging to trace and resolve issues when they occur. Enhancing the logging functionality would significantly help in diagnosing and fixing problems more efficiently. **What problems is Tapdata Live Data Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tapdata Live Data Platform has been pivotal in helping us migrate data from SQL Server to MongoDB Atlas. This migration capability has enabled us to build a comprehensive Customer 360 view table for our new application, providing a much better overview of our customers. The platform's ability to integrate and replicate data seamlessly from SQL Server to MongoDB Atlas has greatly enhanced our data management and application development processes. The platform also supports numerous database types like MongoDB, Oracle etc. The UI is also super userfriendly. **What do you dislike about Tapdata Live Data Platform?** I found that tapdata is a little bit more on the expensive side compared to its competitors. It can be resource intensive when you throw huge volumes of data. Even though it boasts a easy UI setup can be pretty complex for users who dont have the expertise. **What problems is Tapdata Live Data Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tapdata is solving 2 things for me: 1. We have huge data silos that have information stored on different systems, so we were looking for a solution that could pull in data from multiple sources and provide us with a unified view. 2. Due to the same issue, we were not efficient in making effective decisions and tap data helped us by providing real time updates. ### 4. Our data sources include some out-of-supported Oracle databases. We used Tapdata in over 10 source databases for continously data replication to mutliple target databases. Tapdata is able to support the replication of these data to other DBs (MongoDB, Postgres) for a centralized data platform and new application development. Tapdata is also an important component for building our next generation of data warehouse. The speed of data replication from source to target is near real-time. The service team from Tapdata are very professional and helping to help us resolving issues. **What do you dislike about Tapdata Live Data Platform?** Tapdata needs improving in the error logging so that it will be easiy to trace out issues if they happen. Some of the GUI interfface also needs improvement (we started with version 1.x) but I have seen great improvement in newer versions already. **What problems is Tapdata Live Data Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Consolidation of data from over 10 databases (some legacy, out-of-support Oracle DBs) to facilate the buiding of Data as a Service and other new applications. We have used Tapdata to constantly replicate near-real-time several hundred tables from various data sources to varions data targets. Some examples include: enabling APIs for mobile and web applications as extensions of legacy applications and their data sets, supporting near real-time dashboarding with streaming of database updates for reporting and analytics use cases without increasing the load on the source databases, enabling interoperability between diverse datasets, freeing access to add that is trapped in legacy, ERP, or SAAS applications, and even supporting testing with masked copies of production datasets for testing purposes. **What do you dislike about Tapdata Live Data Platform?** The Tapdata Live Data Platform doesn't yet have out-of-box features and functionality for every database vendor and major saas product on the market, though it has quite a few already. Of course, this limitation can be mitigated through purchasing some value-added consulting and development from Tapdata to ensure that our specific environments and tooling is supported. **What problems is Tapdata Live Data Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Some examples of the problems TapData solves include: enabling APIs for mobile and web applications as extensions of legacy applications and their data sets, supporting near real-time dashboarding with streaming of database updates for reporting and analytics use cases without increasing the load on the source databases, enabling interoperability between diverse datasets, freeing access to add that is trapped in legacy, ERP, or SAAS applications, and even supporting testing with masked copies of production datasets for testing purposes.
