"Real-Time Endpoint Visibility That Speeds Response Times"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

The real-time visibility across enterprise endpoints is Tanium's standout feature. Being able to query thousands of endpoints in seconds using natural language and get instantaneous, accurate telemetry drastically reduces mean time to respond. Its single-agent architecture keeps client systems lightweight while centralizing security hygiene and endpoint control effortlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

The platform comes with a steep learning curve, especially for junior administrators. Writing and fine-tuning custom sensors, questions, and action packages requires specialized knowledge of Tanium’s proprietary query logic and underlying architecture. Initial onboarding and training take significant time before a team feels fully autonomous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Patch Management Effortlessly"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

I like Tanium for its focus on network efficiency and speed in real-time querying. The linear chain architecture impresses me when querying or pushing large patch files, and the feedback loop speed is impressive. Additionally, I appreciate how smoothly and quickly the initial setup of the Tanium agent goes across endpoints, thanks to its peer-to-peer architecture. Switching to Tanium allowed us to combine vulnerability scanning and patch remediation into a single continuous workflow, which is a big plus for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

The console UI can feel overwhelming because of how many modules are packed into it. Reporting and dashboard customization could also be smoother when you want to quickly export clean summaries for non-technical leadership. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Endpoint Management with Learning Curve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

I like Tanium's good visibility and control for endpoint management. It helps with endpoint visibility, troubleshooting, and patch management, allowing me to get the required endpoint information quickly and take action from the same platform. This saves time and makes day-to-day management efficient, especially with multiple devices. What I like most is the visibility it provides into endpoints, making troubleshooting and checking device status much easier. I enjoy that you can take action without switching between tools. Once familiar with the platform, tasks like patch management, software-related tasks, and endpoint troubleshooting become much easier. The initial setup was straightforward, and we quickly started using the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

The main challenge for me was the learning curve. Tanium has a lot of features and modules, so it takes some time to understand where everything is and which option is best for a particular task. Some workflows could also be a little more intuitive. Once you use it regularly, though, navigation becomes much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-Time Visibility & Security, Needs UI Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

I like Tanium for its real-time visibility and the quick access it gives me to information. It makes it easier to check devices, spot issues, and take action from a central platform. Real-time visibility across endpoints is one of the strongest features for me because it makes it fast and simple to find device, software, and system details when I need them. The ability to query a large number of endpoints at once is also very useful during security investigations. On top of that, it supports our vulnerability and patch management efforts, which is a big plus for us. The initial setup was fairly straightforward once I became familiar with the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

I find that some features can take a little time to understand, and I feel that the interface can be complex when I am new to the platform. I think there is a scope of improvement in user experience and ease of navigation. It would be helpful to have a simpler dashboard and more streamlined reporting for day-to-day security operations. "Real-time visibility that transformed our incident response"
5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

What I like best about Tanium is the speed and accuracy of real-time endpoint visibility across our entire environment. Instead of waiting minutes or hours for scan results like with older tools, we get live answers back from tens of thousands of endpoints in seconds, which has cut our incident response time from hours down to minutes.

The single-console design covering asset discovery, patching, compliance, and threat response means our team isn't jumping between five different tools anymore. This alone has saved us several hours a week that used to go into manually correlating data across systems.

Integrations with our existing SIEM and ticketing systems were straightforward to set up, and the platform's linear chain architecture means it scales without the performance hit we used to see with agent-heavy tools that bogged down endpoints and network bandwidth.

On the AI/intelligence side, the risk scoring and automated prioritization have been genuinely useful for surfacing the vulnerabilities that actually matter instead of drowning us in low-priority alerts.

Onboarding did take some investment upfront; the initial deployment and getting our team comfortable with the query syntax took a few weeks, but Tanium's support team was responsive throughout, and once ramped up, the ROI became clear: fewer blind spots, faster patch cycles, and less time spent stitching together data from disconnected tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

The area I find most challenging with Tanium is the learning curve for the query language and module configuration — new team members typically need several weeks of hands-on time before they can write efficient queries and configure sensors on their own, which slows onboarding compared to tools with more guided or GUI-driven workflows.

The module licensing and pricing structure can also be confusing, since features are split across separate modules (Patch, Comply, Threat Response, etc.), and it isn't always clear upfront what's included versus what requires an add-on purchase. This has occasionally caused budget surprises during renewal conversations.

Report and dashboard customization feels more rigid than I'd like; building tailored views for different stakeholders (security vs. IT ops vs. compliance) often requires workarounds rather than native flexibility, which adds extra effort when preparing cross-team reporting.

Console performance can also lag when running very broad, unfiltered questions against the full endpoint fleet, and the error messaging in those cases isn't always clear about whether the issue is query design, network latency, or endpoint responsiveness; better diagnostic feedback here would save troubleshooting time.

Finally, documentation for some of the more advanced sensor authoring and API integration scenarios is sparser than I'd expect for an enterprise platform at this price point, often requiring a support ticket to fill in gaps that could be solved by more detailed public docs or example libraries. "Real-Time Endpoint Visibility and Powerful Automation in One Platform"
4/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

Tanium’s biggest strength is its real-time visibility across all endpoints from a single platform. It allows administrators to quickly identify devices, assess vulnerabilities, deploy patches, and take immediate action without relying on multiple tools. Its scalability, automation capabilities, and integration with enterprise security solutions make endpoint management more efficient and improve an organization’s overall security posture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

While Tanium is a powerful platform, it has a steep learning curve for new users due to its extensive feature set. Some advanced configurations and reporting can be complex, and the interface may feel overwhelming at first. Additionally, licensing costs can be high for smaller organizations, and getting the most value from the platform often requires proper training and experienced administrators. "Rapid Endpoint Visibility That Transformed Our Incident Troubleshooting"
4/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

It wasn’t until I used Tanium’s capabilities to quickly identify the status of the endpoints involved in an incident that I realized the importance of Tanium. No longer did I need to wait for reporting or sift through logs in multiple systems to determine what had transpired. This experience has completely altered my approach to troubleshooting, as I am now not reliant on lagging data. Another feature that I found compelling about Tanium is its ability to drill down from a broad overview to an individual endpoint without needing a new solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

Familiarization with the tool was difficult. At one point, I could only fumble around with my queries before being able to make sense of what it needed from me. It does not offer too much guidance on this aspect, meaning you need to figure out your way around by experimentation or proper understanding of the underlying principles. The interface is very heavy, too. There are just a lot going on, making it sometimes unclear which part of it to pay attention to. With a high number of endpoints, the amount of data is just too much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful for large-scale endpoint management"
4/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

What I find great about Tanium is that it gives me a real-time view of all my endpoints. Tanium does not operate on periodic scans like other solutions, but allows for instant querying of machines and obtaining responses in seconds. This makes the system much more responsive, especially in the event of a security incident or a quick audit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

Tanium is a very powerful solution, but some aspects can be improved. The first difficulty is related to getting started: as the platform is very functional, one must account for a rather steep learning curve, especially for less experienced users. The interface, although comprehensive, can sometimes seem complex and not very intuitive at first use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tanium Makes Endpoint Visibility Easy, Fast, and Flexible—with Great Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

It's usually very difficult to keep track of all endpoint activity on our company's network, and with Tanium it's so, so easy. THe interface is really user friendly, and the platform is really flexible with the integrations available, for example you can connect it with Copilot or ServiceNow without any sort of extra effort, and performance wise it takes less than half the time than how we did it before. Pricing is really great as well because it doesn't offer you just a membership type of service, but more a plugin scheme that adapts to your very specific needs. Another thing I give a lot of kudos to is the support and onboarding team behind everything because they truly make sure you are succesful using the platform, and give you a concierge level of care that other competitors do not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

The only thing that I would say is an area of opportunity, but understandable due to how the system works, is that it tends to be a bit sluggish when you initiate things and are beginning your day. It does take a bit of learning as well to navigate interfaces but I still stand that it is simple to use because once everything clicks it is all really seamless. "Easy Patch Deployment Across Servers and Windows Laptops"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

I like how, relatively easily, we can deploy patches to our servers and Windows laptops. Deploying apps could be better but it is a very powerful feature that we use regularly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

It very difficult to automate the patching. While it easier than doing everything manually, it would be great if we could automate the patching so it's relatively zero touch. Also, most of the apps we deploy in Tanium do not auto update. We have to manually add the latest versions of apps, which is very time consuming. We would like it if the most common apps can be auto updated through Tanium, so we don't have to constantly add the latest version. There are some apps that have update daily.

Also, their new pricing model is going to make the tool more expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
