# Which desktop publishing tools enforce brand guidelines across a multi-person marketing team without locking people out of creating content?

Hey G2 community, I've been researching which desktop publishing tools enforce brand guidelines across a multi-person marketing team without locking people out of creating content, and I keep running into the same tension: the platforms with the tightest brand controls tend to frustrate the people who need to move fast, and the ones that feel flexible tend to drift off-brand over time.

Here are the platforms that seem to navigate this the best:

Marq: Lets admins lock template elements so the brand stays intact while distributed team members can still customize and publish on their own. Does the lockdown granularity go far enough for teams with strict brand standards?

Canva: Brand Kit keeps fonts, colors, and logos consistent at the team level, and real-time collaboration means multiple people can work on the same asset simultaneously without stepping on each other.

Visme: Allows teams to store brand assets centrally and apply them across any piece without manually re-importing, which helps maintain consistency even across remote teams working independently.

Adobe InDesign: Master pages, paragraph styles, and brand libraries let design leads set up templates that enforce consistency at a structural level, though it works best when at least one person on the team knows the software well.

Venngage: Brand Kit applies company elements automatically and works well for teams producing recurring materials like reports and internal communications where consistency is a baseline requirement.

This balance is harder than it looks. Tools either overlock things or let everything drift. Marq makes sense for guardrails, but I’ve seen teams still create side versions outside the system when deadlines hit. Have you come across teams that actually stayed inside one system long-term without workarounds?
