They haven’t completed our setup (the most consequential conversion action, responsible for over 65% of our revenue is showing only 2.2% of the figure it should be). They’re threatening to brick our account unless we settle an invoice for completing the setup, which isn’t complete… We are getting more data and conversions showing through the native shopify and GA4 setup than with Stapes expensive server-side solution, don't bother setting this up, huge waste of time and money. Installing GTM on the server-side is a big hassle if you’re not a developer, but their youtube guides break it down barney style. When I got stuck on a container config, I also played around with their free AI chat assistant. It gave me the exact code snippet I needed instead of some generic support fluff. Their costless tool to inspect your website is great too. It allows you to verify the proper functioning of the setup prior to going live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about stape.io? It really is a lot to digest at the beginning. The dashboard is jam-packed with activities, which may seem overwhelming when users first log in. It would be nice to have an interactive onboarding tour for beginners to show where everything is. Furthermore, we encountered a problem over the weekend and discovered that priority live support is restricted to their higher tiers. Our data was getting wasted because of iOS privacy updates as well as ad-blockers. Our Meta and Google ads were functioning in the dark with half our conversions not showing on Shopify. Moving our tracking to stape-hosted server container alone allows us to circumvent the blocking mechanisms and extend the longevity of our cookies. The setup is something you can do on your own, the UI is quite intuitive and the documentation covers everything you need. Even the free plan gives you access to Stape Analytics and some useful Power-ups, which for a small business like mine is a real deal. The Meta CAPI integration was straightforward to configure and made a real difference in how many conversions we're actually capturing. When I got stuck, the AI chat handled most questions on the spot, and the support team picked up anything it couldn't. Overall, solid performance starting from day one. The dashboard has a lot going on, so for someone who’s completely new to server-side tracking (not my case, but I had to come up with something), a short guided onboarding tour of the account would be really helpful. Running a small coffee shop means I wear a lot of hats, and managing tracking infrastructure isn't something I have the time or technical background to do from scratch. Stape handles the server-side GTM hosting for us, which means our Google Ads and GA4 data is no longer at the mercy of ad blockers eating into our conversion numbers. The Meta CAPI integration in particular helped us recover events we didn't even know we were losing, which makes our ad spend feel a lot less like a guessing game. It's also taken some of the load off our website, which was a nice side effect we didn't fully anticipate.
