SQL Server Comparison Tool Reviews & Product Details

SQL Server Comparison Tool (SCT) is a professional database comparison and synchronisation utility for SQL Server developers and database administrators. Built by AlfaAlfa Software Corporation - a Toronto-based developer tools company founded in 1999 - SCT has been trusted by enterprise teams and independent developers alike for over two decades. What SCT does SCT connects to any two SQL Server databases and produces a clear, side-by-side report of every difference between them - whether that's a schema change, a missing stored procedure, or a row-level data discrepancy. With a single click, it generates a ready-to-run SQL update script that brings the target database in sync with the source. No manual diffing. No missed changes. No guesswork. Schema and data comparison in one tool SCT compares the full database schema: tables, columns, indexes, primary and foreign keys, relationships, constraints, views, stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, and permissions. It also performs row-level data comparison across tables, making it equally useful for catching configuration drift between environments and auditing data integrity. Who uses it SCT is used by development teams managing the gap between development, staging, and production databases; by DBAs responsible for deployment validation; and by QA engineers verifying that database changes have been applied correctly. Enterprise clients include organisations such as Bosch, Siemens, Fujitsu, Thomson Reuters, Johnson & Johnson, UPS, Citi, McAfee, and the US Federal Aviation Administration. Key capabilities - Full schema comparison: tables, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, constraints, and permissions - Row-level data comparison across selected tables - Automatic SQL script generation to synchronise databases - Command-line automation via saved sessions and the /RunSavedComp parameter - ideal for CI/CD pipelines and scheduled jobs - Azure SQL database support alongside on-premises SQL Server - Compatible with SQL Server 2005 through SQL Server 2025 - Free Edition available (stored procedures comparison, no time limit) Simple by design SCT is intentionally straightforward. No SQL knowledge is required to run a comparison - point it at two databases, click Compare, and review the results. The interface is clean, the output is readable, and the generated scripts are production-safe. Licensing and pricing SCT is available as a 30-day free trial with no credit card required.
