## Redgate Monitor Reviews
  ### 1. Customizable Monitoring with Easy Setup and Excellent Training Materials

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

I really appreciate the ability to customize monitoring, along with how easy the installation process is. The training materials are excellent, and the help system is clear and genuinely useful when I need support.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

One issue is that it isn’t easy to automate system updates. Over the last few versions, we’ve also experienced some instability. That said, the current version has been stable so far.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This product gives us early warning of database issues such as deadlocks, problematic queries, and SQL job overruns, which provides valuable feedback for our development team as we work on system improvements. It also helps us catch more serious SQL system issues early, before they escalate.

  ### 2. Centralized Monitoring with Ease and Depth

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon K. | Director, IT Platforms

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

I probably like the pure performance monitoring the most. It's great to have the ability to drill into long-running queries and the issues you've had. The ability to move back in time and replay what's going on, what was holding up something at any given point, is really useful.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

I don't have a lot of complaints, but the packaging of the suite of tools and the licensing models could potentially be improved.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Redgate Monitor for centralized monitoring, performance tracking, and SQL Data Compare and anonymization. It helps me drill into long-running queries and move back in time to replay issues, enhancing oversight without relying on native tools.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

The breadth of monitoring stats really helps track down issues and backtrack through events.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Sometimes the sheer volume of information can flood the results and you lose specific information

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redgate helps us with 2 key business points.
1. detailed and quick monitoring of issues with services including uptime and resource issues.
2. Tracking down issues during RCAs

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

It provides an instant view of our environment and offers suggestions on what to check whenever there are system issues.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

I’m still running into a few issues during setup. The forum answers help somewhat, but clearer step-by-step guides would be more helpful and make the process easier to get through.

Instant access to live data, with the ability to monitor traffic flow in real time.

Red Gate Monitor is equipped with lots of function which is useful for MSSQL administration needs. It is easy to manage, easy to use.

Redgate Monitor provides monitoring systems, including the SQL server health, and deep into the queries execute by user.

  ### 6. Best SQL monitoring tool i've used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gordon L. | Director of Solution Architecture, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

When monitoring SQL it does a fantastic job of identifying issues in a way that's easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

No DB2 support... i understand it's a niche database engine by today's standards, but a DB2 option would have been awesome.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When i started in my position, the team didn't have any visibility into SQL server performance. Apps would run slowly or lock up, and while traditional DB diagnostics scripts can help, it doesn't give you enough to address issues before they happen. RG Monitor gives me both historical metrics, and current statuses to address issues before users complain.

  ### 7. Effortless SQL Monitoring, Improved Custom Scripts

It's great to have a single pane of glass across our whole estate, which makes it easy to see long-running queries and database sizes as well as many other metrics. I also appreciate the ability to run custom sql to enhance our monitoring how we need it.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Nothing comes to mind

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 9. Effortless Monitoring with Redgate Monitor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rasmus G. | Finance Process Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

I find Redgate Monitor easy to use and intuitive. It offers easy insights into the root cause and what's happening when we don't have a dedicated resource for monitoring. The needed information is right at hand, allowing us to drill down efficiently. The initial setup was super easy with a good guide.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Nothing comes to mind

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Redgate Monitor for easy insights into root causes, server monitoring without a dedicated resource, and having needed information at hand. It's easy to use and intuitive, allowing us to drill down effectively.

  ### 10. Redgate Monitor provides real-time, actionable insights into our SQL environments, and much more

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob B. | VP, Infrastructure and Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

We get relevant, detailed information about our SQL servers and databases, whether they're on premises or in the Azure cloud. Having a single pane of glass to view the health of our environment allows us to be proactive about maintenance, and the product provides critical insights into what's happening with our production systems.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Honestly, I can't think of anything to dislike. The pricing structure is reasonable, and the product works well.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been using Redgate Monitor for a couple of years and it's helped us quickly identify issues with our SQL systems. Additionally, the security analysis tools have helped to identify employees (current and former) that have too much access, and allowed us to properly adjust roles without querying every system individually. Tremendous amount of time saved by using this tool for SQL audits.

  ### 11. Good for overview, improvable for real-time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

Alert system. You can view historical info easily searching a fault on main page. Alert system is awesome. You can configure a bunch of ways to send alerts.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

There is no interface for mobile view. You can't kill blocked processes from IU. RealTime info is poor.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since I have other duties besides being a database administrator, I can easily check disk space, crashes, and other issues, and anticipate a possible crash. The alarm system is very comprehensive. I can do the same work as before in much less time.

  ### 12. Lot's of tools, falling behind.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael L. | Manager of Data Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

I like all the different monitors. Being able to see top 10 queries by expense and have a means of investigating how to troubleshoot or resolve issues. In terms of SQL Server Enterprise and to some extent Azure SQL, the tool is pretty mature and very dependable. The UI is easy to learn and using the tool becomes second nature. It was easy to setup and get rolling. My DBA's use it multiple times a day to make sure not only do we not have issues. But we are making improvements on performance.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

A couple of improvements that could fit in this space:
- Better integration with other Red-Gate products (SQL Backup, SQL Prompt, etc)
- We need a solution for security and being able to review security and effective roles at a glance, search, and perspectives. Yes you can do this with code. But we need a faster, visual, facilitated tool.
- ***BIG ONE*** - You guys are making good progress in incorporating other databases (Postgres). However, you are missing the boat on MS Stack which is where your core competency has been for decades and where new tools in MS like Fabric, Synapse, Azure SQL, and Purview are going uncared for. Licensing for SQL Server Enterprise is getting out of control and it is obvious they are pushing people towards SAAS. And there is a huge opportunity for new products to support SAAS as there are very few options out there to fill gaps, especially with your tenure in this role. Example would be monitoring of Fabric resources. Right now we have FUAM, which is great. But it's not enterprise great in leadership's minds. They will pay if you will offer. Or, you go the way of Idera and others, ride the cash-cow and fade into the sunset. I would rather see Red-Gate succeed.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performance. Every SQL user has different abilities. We can see that in query performance and can give them visibility into what we see so Red-Gate becomes the source of truth AND reason.

  ### 13. Best SQL Monitoring Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael d. | Senior DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

What I love about Redgate Monitor is not just the fact that you can monitor your SQL real estate in one Portal (great if your a CSP), but the fact it provides recommendations on how to fix Stored Procedures that have the largest impact on the performance of your Database Servers. The new features around Security compliance is definitely going to be a game changer.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Navigation can be improved. Sometimes it can be challenging to find something you might have stumbled across before.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had an Application that has grown over the 20 year life span of the product, and over that time our Database was not uniform across all our environments. Additionally, because have SaaS platform, some customers had their own Databases vs the Shared Model, and so there was a lot of Drift with regards to Stored Procedures and in some cases, DB Schemas. But Red Gate Monitor has helped identify areas of improvement that we can tackle in a safe manner.

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

While the feature set is rich and the value is undeniable, pricing may be a barrier for smaller environments or clients with tight budgets. Nonetheless, the overall ROI remains high for teams that rely heavily on proactive database management.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rich S. | Lead Database Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

I have been using Redgate SQL Monitor for around 13 years. I did a lot of research when picking it as it is a large investment and the fact I am still using it and justifying it every year shows its quality. It is constantly updated with actually useful features, web based so no agents on production systems and genuinely useful dashboards and metrics. Really helps me and the team in our day to day.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

The recent adddition of the Enterprise version is concerning that we will lose features or capability. We need to justify this expense to our management every year when global platforms are in use by other teams. If the cost creeps up too much it will be too hard to justify so hopefully they can manage this without losing us.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting insight into our production database systems, spotting trends and potential issues.

Maybe the current transactions running. It's not always easy to see. Sometimes, I find it hard to find the transaction I am looking for or the query text is not found.

I use Redgate Monitor for monitoring our SQL Server Estate, identifying failing jobs, and instance restarts. It links with ServiceNow to raise incidents automatically. I like it because it's simple to use and setup, and it reacts quickly to issues.

**Reviewed by:** Prasanna S. | System Engineer Database Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

Ease of deployment and the friendly GUI interface distinguishes it from the other products.

Its certainly heavy but you can come around this with adequate resourcing on how it is setup. But its not an overhead as it provides a lot of detailing and it is a must have features.

Performance issues can arise any day due to unseen circumstances. Redgate allows us to pin point the pain areas and provides recommendations to overcome those issues.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performance and bad queries.

  ### 23. At-a-Glance SQL Estate Visibility and Fast Bottleneck Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

View of what is going on with our SQL Estate at a glance.
Being able to easily dig in and see what is causing performance bottlenecks.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Having to pay for all servers in a cluster can end up costing quite a lot, considering only a single server is ever the active server. The benefit of monitoring the secondaries is minimal.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring of our SQL Estate as a whole in a single tool.

  ### 24. Effortless SQL Monitoring with Redgate Monitor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anderson R. | Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

Easy to use and great MTTR.
Redgate Monitor monitor makes me look so good. Any time something goes wrong (and sometimes even before) I have the answer for it.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

limted Oracle insights, I understand it is coming, but I wish it was here right now

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redgate Monitor solves the challenge of proactively managing SQL Server performance and availability. It gives us real-time and historical visibility into our estate, enabling faster root cause analysis, smarter capacity planning, and consistent uptime. The customizable alerts help us stay ahead of issues before users are impacted, while the estate-wide overview reduces the time spent firefighting. It’s especially valuable in complex or hybrid environments where manual monitoring just doesn’t scale. Ultimately, it gives us peace of mind and more time to focus on strategic work.

  ### 26. Great Insights, and helps find issues with SQL

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

Redgate Monitor gives me the most value through its clear performance insights and proactive alerting. It’s easy to spot issues quickly, understand what’s causing them, and keep servers running smoothly without digging through complex dashboards.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

If anything, Redgate Monitor can feel a bit noisy with alerts at times, and some deeper diagnostics still require switching to other tools. The interface is good overall, but a few areas could be more intuitive, especially when drilling into long‑term performance trends.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redgate Monitor helps us quickly identify and diagnose SQL Server performance issues before they become outages. It gives us actionable insights into slow queries, resource bottlenecks, and server health.

  ### 27. Best all-in-one commercial SQL Database Monitoring tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah W. | Sql Server Database Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

Our team was having trouble monitoring our databases and environments in one place. We did not have the manning or capacity to create a custom solution, so we started exploring 3rd party monitoring tools. No other tool came close to RedGate monitor, both in terms of features/breadth of monitoring functions and in terms of price.

The fact that we can monitor server, instance, and database health in one tool is a game changer. The customization available for pre-made alerts is great, and the ability to create custom alerts is a huge help. In the first two months, we identified 3 separate configuration/performance issues with our systems that we were able to resolve and optimize!

RedGate customer support has also been stellar, from initial demos to tweaking and troubleshooting after installation. Installing RedGate monitor was surprisingly easy.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

The custom monitoring reports feature has been difficult to set up and troubleshoot, and the customizability of the reports is lacking. It is still somewhat useful to provide a basic snapshot to our managers on a weekly basis, but it is limited.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to monitor all of our servers, instances, and databases in one place makes it much easier to identify critical issues before they become a bigger problem for our customers. We've ben able to resolve sporadic backup schedules, update database configurations to meet best practice standards, and ensure that we are performing regular integrity checks on all of our servers and databases.

  ### 28. Great monitoring tool

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

All the info, just there on the dashboard. We can spot issues as they occur and before the symptoms manifest in an issue

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

We have to pay for it. (I guess they have to make money somehow though) :)

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The simplicity of monitoring our estate of SQL servers. It is constantly in use and so easy to implement.

  ### 31. User-Friendly SQL Server Monitoring with Easy Maintenance

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

I don't like the ability to segregate alerts and route different alerts across different platforms.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Redgate Monitor for monitoring over 70 SQL Servers. It solves performance issues by identifying them and providing their history. It's user-friendly, easy to train others to use, and maintain with constant updates.

  ### 32. Improved Visibility and Performance with Redgate SQL Monitor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

The tool is easy to set up and use, with a well-designed and intuitive interface that provides clear insights even for non-specialist users. The overview dashboard gives us an immediate picture of server health, helping us detect and prevent performance or availability issues before they escalate.

What we particularly appreciate:

Highly configurable and intelligent alerts that reduce noise and focus on real issues.

Historical performance data that supports root cause analysis and trend monitoring.

Effortless deployment across multiple SQL Server instances, whether on-premises or in hybrid environments.

As SQL Server administrators, we’ve saved a significant amount of time identifying slow queries, bottlenecks, and resource-related problems. Redgate SQL Monitor integrates seamlessly into our proactive monitoring approach and has helped us improve both system reliability and performance visibility.

We highly recommend it to any IT team looking to strengthen its SQL Server infrastructure monitoring.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Resource consumption on monitored servers

SQL Monitor can introduce noticeable overhead on monitored SQL Server instances, particularly during frequent query capture or when monitoring high-load servers. Fine-tuning the polling intervals is necessary to minimize impact in production environments.

Initial alert noise

The alerting system tends to be quite verbose out of the box. It takes some effort to properly tune thresholds and disable non-critical alerts to reduce noise. A role-based or usage-specific alert configuration wizard would be a welcome enhancement.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, we were often in a reactive mode—responding to user complaints or incidents. With SQL Monitor, we now get alerted about issues like long-running queries, blocking, or high resource usage before they impact users. This allows us to act early and reduce downtime.

Investigating performance issues used to be time-consuming and manual. SQL Monitor provides historical performance data, deadlock analysis, and wait stats that make it much easier to identify the root cause of problems and resolve them faster.

The automation of health checks, customizable alerting, and built-in reports saves our DBAs a significant amount of time. We’re able to focus more on optimization and planning rather than firefighting.

  ### 33. Redgate Monitor for SQL Server

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

We've been using Redgate Monitor (prev SQL Monitor for nearly 9 years now. It's to monitor and alert on our SQL Server instances. It works really well and the interface is intuitive. Setup is very straightforward too. We had a mix of similar monitoring tools, but recently decided to consolidate to RM for our co-location and AWS based instances. Easy to reconfigure the items monitored and adjust thresholds. UK based supported is mostly good. Some really good people overall, so I do recommend Redgate Monitor.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

We went through a period where we had a few issues and support was a bit "lacking", so after escalating they reworked a few things and suddenly we started receiving a more timely and appropriate response, as was historically the case. From my viewpoint it was worth persisting and working with them to acheive our desired goals. They do listen to feedback.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Production SQL Server Monitoring. Assist with performance tuning.

  ### 34. No noise - just actionable data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

What I like the most is that upon installation and configuration, we immediately got actionable data that gave us valuable insight into our SQL estate. This allowed us to immediately resolve issues that hadn't been seen before. We can see our entire estate health in a single pane instead of having to drill down on each machine to find out what is going on. Alerts are meaningful and allow us to make changes at a granular level, not just global settings, but down to the machine or database, which is critical for us so that we're not just getting a lot of meaningless noise. Query plans, execution plans, and deadlock events are rich with detail. Redgate has built a lot of custom metrics, but you can also build your own using SQL statements. Integration with REST and Powershell are also a big plus for us.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Love the integration with VMWare, which has been really helpful for us. Hope that Redgate will also consider adding integration with Microsoft Stack HCI and AVDs, as we are transitioning many machines to this technology.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is giving us actual, actionable data, based on our company's needs. When we get an alert, we know it is not a false alarm or some vague reference for which there is little to no documentation for us to investigate. We also get real-time resource metrics, SQL metrics (including top queries, waits and sprocs), blocking processes, robust AG metrics, failed jobs, backup history across the estate, and user permissions. All of these data points allow us to immediately and proactively resolve issues which, in turn, allow us to focus effort on other time-sensitive business projects.

Monitoring and support in analysis work of our customers' databases

  ### 36. RedGate Monitor - Useful Tool for Our Environment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

Redgate Monitor offers a user-friendly interface with real-time dashboards, making it easy to monitor our SQL Server database health across on-premises and cloud environments. Its customizable alerting system and detailed performance reports help proactively identify and resolve issues, saving time and preventing escalations. The ability to manage multiple servers from one location is a major plus for us.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

While effective, the product can be resource-intensive, causing noticeable server performance impact during constant monitoring. We have noticed limited customization options for reports and a lack of built-in fix suggestions for identified issues.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redgate Monitor helps us solve the business problem of ensuring database performance and reliability by providing real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and alerting for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other databases. It enables us to be proactive in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, query issues, and server health problems, reducing downtime and ensuring smooth operations. It’s much easier to monitor than it is to put out fires.

Redgate Monitor is straightforward to implement and configure, intuitive to use, and simple to manage. Its alerting system is exceptionally reliable—delivering accurate notifications without false positives. It immediately detects when a monitored Windows service is not running and sends an alert notification. Additionally, it's an excellent tool for performance troubleshooting and index tuning, making it a valuable asset for any SQL Server environment.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

One feature I’d like to see added is capacity planning. Having built-in tools for forecasting disk usage trends would greatly enhance the ability to manage storage more proactively and efficiently.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 45. Essential SQL Server Monitoring: Redgate is life saver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

Its centralized and user-friendly web interface is what really strikes me. Whether a database is on-premises, virtualized, or in the cloud, having a single dashboard that offers a thorough overview of the entire database estate seems incredibly efficient.

Another noteworthy feature, in my opinion, is the proactive and intelligent alerting system. Providing the in-depth diagnostics required to promptly identify and address the underlying cause is just as important as alerting you to an issue. In my opinion, database administrators greatly benefit from the ability to shift from reactive "firefighting" to proactive problem-solving.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

If I had to list the main things I don't like about Redgate Monitor, it would be the price. Despite its strong features, this may make it a less accessible choice especially when I have only 5 instances and I have to pay for all of them , no volume discounting

The procedure for installing updates is another issue that comes up from time to time with my tech team, Although the product is generally reliable,my team has indicated that updates aren't always as smooth as one might expect and sometimes call for troubleshooting.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my opinion, Redgate Monitor offers a straightforward remedy for the widespread issue of reactive database management. It enables me to take the initiative rather than waiting for a client to complain about a system outage or poor application performance.

Its ability to quickly locate and fix performance bottlenecks is, in my opinion, its main advantage. I can rapidly identify the precise SQL queries that are generating excessive CPU usage, I/O, or blocking issues thanks to its real-time monitoring and deep-dive diagnostics. This quick realization is priceless. For example, I can quickly view the problematic query, its execution plan, and related wait statistics if a client mentions that a particular report is operating slowly. This enables me to go straight to the source and eliminate speculation.

  ### 46. Great tool to add

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

Overwhelming for first time users, steep learning curve and costs are concerns for smaller organizations

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

It brings all of the metrics that we were already recording and reporting on together into one place and provides customisable notifications on any issues.

**What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?**

The only real barrier to us as an NHS organisation is the cost. I was offered a three month trial of Redgate Monitor and was very happy with what it could do, but we couldn't get the cost authorised when we already have in-house solutions monitoring for similar issues.

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It puts all of our disparate monitoring requirements into a simple, single top level view that we can then drill down into for more information.

**What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?**

The tool is easy to use and provides great insight with minimal out of the box changes. From a single dashboard you can monitor all your SQL Server instances.

Proactively identifying issues before they cause downtime.

  ### 49. Very powerful tool providing clear information highlighting any potential issues.

I would like to see improvements made to monitoring and alerting from redgate. Rollup of similar errors/alerts from the same server, and improved availability group alerting would be a great addition

**What problems is Redgate Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redgate has been an invaluable tool to monitor our database estate, and dig deep into performance problems
