# What Are the Best Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) Platforms for Software Engineers at Large Financial Services Firms?

I’d measure whether cost governance becomes another operational workload rather than looking at platform spend alone. If engineers save hours on root-cause analysis but then spend significant time tuning log ingestion, retention, sampling, and usage controls just to keep costs predictable, some of that efficiency disappears. I’d compare incident-response hours saved against the ongoing effort required to manage observability spend.
